I was a bit scared to buy a cover or sleeve for my Nook Color that wasn't from Barnes and Noble due to past experiences with a tablet I own, (I bought a cover and it didn't fit even though it said it was for the exact device). However, this one works great! I like that it has a hole in the back to uncover the speaker because there's not a lot of sound output, it doesn't muffle the sound. It was very easy to put on the Nook Color, and also fits great. Shipping was fast as well.
They offer free classes if you need help, and the last time I went in to B and N, the Nook employee updated some stuff for me. I am on a first name basis with her, she is so sweet!
My husband and I have given out Nooks to our parents, who are in their 80's and love to be able to go and talk to someone if they are not sure about something on the Nook.
The Barnes and Nobles folks are so friendly and helpful. The Nook specialist put on a screen protector for me for free when I first got my Nook, She said she had an extra one, and was happy to help, but don't tell anyone!
I have been in different B and N stores and they are all the same nice helpful folks.
You cannot beat that service.
I am in a book club, we all have kindles or Nooks. The kindle group always have questions about how to do something, we Nook people don't, because we have access to help, a real person to talk to.
You register your Nook online, and it is all free, there is no fee of any kind, I have heard nasty rumors to the contrary, there is no monthly fee.
B and N have more books to access than kindle, plus if you go into the store, you can read any B and N book free while in there.
It is so easy to download any ebook from your library on the Nook. So you don't have to buy books if you don't want to.
How can you not choose Nook?
I should work for their company!It works well for what I needed it for; however, it is a little loose. I keep my Nook in a leather zipper case so I wanted something to protect it when I'm reading it (when it's outside of the case).
I would have given it 5 stars if it were a little more snug around the sides.

I just recieved this and it was easy to set-up even with a lack of instructions other than put disk in and load before plugging in the scanner. I tried various types of items to scan and all came out great. Color, b&w even a photo. It is small enough to fit in my bag next to my portable printer so I always have a scanner handy. I was very impressed with the double sided scanning which is fast and easy. I have already recommended this to my fellow sales people and i highly recommend it to all that are in need of a portable scanner.

I was looking for a document scanner for household use. This one had all the features I wanted, duplex, compact. So, I bought it. I was so disappointed by it's performance that I decided to return it the next day!Pros:

Cons:
1. If you are feeding documents, there will be a black leading area at the top of the scan. Because it starts capturing the image even before the paper is into the scanning area. This is absolutely unacceptable. How does this thing make it to the market?
2. If you are trying to feed multiple documents, there is no way you can avoid the black area at the top of the scan.
3. The page is scanned kind of slanted, no matter how hard I try to scan it straight. The feeder won't eat the paper straight.
4. The PDF files generated are humongous! I understand these are image based PDF files, but my flatbed scanner does that too... but file sizes are manageable.
It was a total waste of my time.

I have a Macbook Pro OS X 10.8.3. Before doing the installation I noticed the software on the disk was only good up to 10.7 . So I went to the brothers website to download the latest drivers for the scanner. The scanner worked fine. The scanner comes with other software from 3rd party vendor and I had to go the the 3rd party website to download the upgrades that support os x 10.8.3. Brother Mobile Portable Printer Pocket Jet 3 Plus
I got this Pentax printer for my recent 2 week trip to the UK. The Pocketjet3 Plus works like a charm. The print quality is decent, but I recommend setting it to the darkest setting because the default setting is usually too pale.I charged the battery before my trip, printed about 30 pages during the 2 weeks in London, and the battery still has more than 50% charge left 3 weeks later.
You'll probably get a few interested stares if you use this printer in a public setting. I got a lot of curious looks at the Red Carpet Lounge at United Airlines. People found it curious something that small can print 8-1/2" by 11" paper. The folks at airport security were also curious a printer can be that small, fitting into my backpack.
The printer comes with a nice carrying case. But I suggest buying a small USB retractable cable for the printer, so that the printer and the retractable cable can all fit nicely into the one carrying case. I used a retractable USB cable that I bought for my Sony PSP for the Pentax printer instead. The USB cable that comes with the Pentax is too long and big to fit into the case together with the printer.
The printer is a bit on the expensive side, but considering the benefits: super convenience, portability, small size, and no need for printer cartridges -you'll be proud of your purchase.
I am now concluding my three week trip and have used the printer almost every day. It really works. I recommend it highly. And I was impressed with the quick service turnaround by the company.

I've been using the PocketJet on the road now for 6 months or so and it has worked flawlessly. Though, know that this is not a plain paper printer. I thought for a while before I bought and so far I am not disappointed. I was pleased that the printer worked right away after installing the software. The print quality was quite good also. I previously ordered the Planon printer which worked ok from my BlackBerry (though only for email and photos but not web pages) but I was never able to get it to print from my laptop so I just returned it.

Nice case, snug well designed case and outer rubber bumper. However......The puck type mount fits so tight into the case I had to use a jar opener to get it off. I ended up having to take it apart (2 T-10 torx head screws) and sand down the pads on the puck that lock into the case...took a couple of tries to get it right, but it doesn't take a tool to get the ipad off the mounting base...
Issue number two...they provide a nice thick screen protector, clear and smooth...but...like so many screen protectors, they don't take into consideration the case, so when you slide the two parts of the case on it peels up the sides of the protector, and with this one, it even peels up both ends...you would think their own protector wouldn't do that, but, such is the nature of design flaws.
Update. I use my mini iPad as most folks use an iPod for. Problem was mounting it in the car. Everything I tried before this was a pain getting the iPad in and out of and covered controls on the dash. The sticky backed puck mounting base that was such and issue before was mounted to an old flex neck cup holder mount I has laying around and modified to accept the puck base. Now the iPad slides easily in and out of the car, is out of the way, and, I can mount the iPod either vertically or horizontally at will. It is so convenient now, I bought a Dual external Bluetooth GPS and the TOMTOM GPS app, and use my iPod mini as both my music box through my cars stereo and my GPS unit...gotta love that!!

This is a really nice keyboard. Ideally I would give it a 3.5, but it deserves more than a 3 so here we are at 4 stars. The keys have a good feel, just the right amount of resistance. The only suggestion I have is that a stain be used inside the engraving of the letters and numbers on the keys. As it is, one requires a bit of a strain unless you have perfect vision to make out the letters because they are pretty much just engraved into the bamboo. But if you want a break from metal, this is a good choice. The mouse is very well made and comfortable, too.Save 44% Off
Like many people these days, I spend a lot of time on my computer. I LOVE this keyboard. One thing none of the reviewers have mentions is how wonderful it is to type on wood. Not something I would have anticipated really, in practice, making a big difference, but it does. It's different to touch wood (ok, bamboo) than plastic; such a treat. I've been using it for almost 2 years and I love it more and more.
BoxWave Capacitive NOOKcolor Stylus (Lunar Blue)
I got this for use with my B&N Nook. I have big fingers and found it hard to make selections on the screen. This pen is able to easily hit each "key" on the virtual screen's keyboard. However, you can't go too fast. You have to place the tip on the screen at pretty much a 90 degree angle to the Nook and then hesitate ever so slightly before the key is selected. I think this is in part due to how the Nook registers a selection on the screen but, it seems just a little slower with the stylus than with a finger. However, I get fewer incorrect selections with the stylus so, bottom line, I'm ahead using the stylus and for that reason I'd recommend it for anyone with large digits.

I absolutely love this stylus. If you have long nails, it's the thing for you! I wish I had it when I first received my NOOK as a retirement gift. It would have made setting it up a heck of a lot easier. The Amazon.com price is right too...much less than at any of the local stores that sell it. The nice thing is that it clips right on the center spine of my cover. Iris USOA400 IRISPen Express 6 Pen Scanner
I edit a small-town weekly newspaper, and in slow times, I like to have a story regarding some aspect of the town's history ready to go in as filler. So I spend quite a bit of time going through yellowed newspaper archives, and bought this toy to see if I could cut down on my retyping time. The result? Sometimes it helps, sometimes it doesn't. I find you have to recalibrate every time you start scanning a different newspaper page, and that the scanner works better on pages that still have good contrast, which is to say have not become too yellowed. The good news is that I get about 95 percent accuracy on unyellowed newsprint, so it works for me then; the bad news is that the error rate greatly rises when the contrast drops, so that retyping is still faster on most of the old stuff. But, it should be noted, I'm conducting a Pen Scanner Torture Test; I find it works just fine on better quality paper, such as book and magazines. But always, always, recalibrate first.
Getting useful copy requires a steady hand, a modicum of practice and, above all else, proper settings of the scanner. Operating instructions are both obscure and sketchy, so a beginner should stay with the manufacturer's default settings until some proficiency is gained. It helped, somewhat, to download the instruction file from the ReadIris website when I was ready to create settings of my own. Those instructions are inadequate too, but better than those packaged with the pen.
Once technique is mastered, character recognition is excellent, but the output text is plain, with no formatting whatsoever. That lack is easily corrected by sending the copy to a word processor.
Everything considered, I'm glad I bought the gadget.

I bought this product with some trepidation, as other reviewers' opinions of it were all over the map. When I first started trying to use it, it didn't work at all well. My first few scans (each being one line of text) came out pretty accurate, but after that things just deteriorated fast, until before long all I could ever get was a big string of unrecognized characters, represented by tildes (~). I read the PDF manual, tried various settings, to no avail.Then I contacted IRIS customer support, and they sent me a list of things to try, three of which actually helped quite a bit, and now I'm scanning along fairly happily.
The last thing they suggested--and the first thing I tried--helped a lot. I clicked File > Reset to Factory Settings. I've had to do that again, after I saw a deterioration in results. So I guess I'll just have to live with the default settings and Reset them every so often. Not a big problem for me, though it would be for some users.
They also said it should take 3-4 seconds to scan a 6-inch line of text. I had been scanning much faster than that. Slowing down helped.
And they said that a wavy scan is a big problem. I have found that by positioning a ruler about 3/4 inch below the line I want to scan works pretty nicely--I just run the scanner along the ruler as a guide, and it eliminates the wavy-line problem. (The thing doesn't seem to be bother if the line of text rises or falls slightly from left to right, provided it's all in a fairly straight line.)
I should mention that I suffer from a slight tremor in my hands, and so it is possible that some of my difficulties would not be experienced by someone with a steadier hand.
Bottom line: You can make this thing work if you stick with it. If, like me, you are constantly needing to scan in fragments of text, you will find it worth the trouble to overcome initial difficulties, should you experience them.

I bought the IRISpen Express in the hope that it would make the endless research projects I have for college a little less time consuming. I always found it tedious and disruptive to have to stop reading to note a phrase or quote for use in a paper. Also, it is time consuming to have to refer back to those little sticky notes when it is time to type up the paper or even to compile the research for review.The IRISpen makes it much easier to simply sit with a book and read it as usual. When I come across a part that I want to include in a paper or even just keep on my computer for use in a blog or webpage, I simply scan the page number and the passage I want to use. Done. I have blasted through 4 library books today in the time it would have taken to work through a one or two because I dont have to stop reading to type. I set up my laptop next to me and start a heading on OneNote with the book that I am reading. That way all I have to do is scan it like a highlighter when I see something I want.
This little scanner has made life as a student much easier and less time consuming. Im also one of the most organized students now, because all my notes are digital and can easily be searched.
There are, of course, flaws with the pen; it isnt perfect at recognition so it is important to review the text periodically to fix spelling errors. It helps to calibrate it before using it every time, which thankfully takes about 5 seconds. Other than that, I have been very pleased with the IRISpen and I would recommend it to busy students or professionals who have to organize printed material for any sort of publication.

I'd like to set out a review for mac users.1. I am a law student trying to use the scanner to consolidate information from book to print. The books I use have writing in them, over the words, and lots of highlighting and underlining.
2. I was extremely reticent to buy the pen because of the negative reviews.
3. I am using a Macbook Pro (2010) with the pen.
The bottom line is that the pen really does work when you are using it with written text. Reviews that mention otherwise (I have noticed) are mainly PC users. The pen really is helpful in getting down all of the information you want.
A. Dealing with books (exclusively with typed print)
The pen works wonderfully. It works BEST with a book on a flat surface. (I have only had problems with very thick book in the beginning chapters (where the binding is not flat on the table. It can read over yellow highlighting without a problem. It has a 60-70% success rate with underlined words. It obviously works best with clean text.
B. Mac experience
I have a feelign that the OCR engine for the mac software is somewhat different (though I could be wrong) than the PC version. The far and few between Mac users have seem to have positive experiences.
C. Realistic Expectations
In an ideal world, the pen would work perfectly... of course, it does not. But you can definitely optimize the experience to make it work best for you.
1. Somehow it depends on the light. Insufficient lighting with not allow the text to be read. Too much lighting on the other hand, seems to overwhelm the pen and writing does not get recognized (so don't hold have your friend hold a flashlight above the book... like we did last weekend). Second, the pen can recognize text REALLY quickly. But when it's underlined or highlighted, slow down. I usually do an entire line (flat, good lighting, clean text) in a quarter of a second. And it's 99% always right. I slow down on highlighted text and that seems to work well.
Lastly, I typically run into problems when I try to only get particular words from the page instead of a whole line. this might be due to my beginner level use, though.
Just realize that this technology isn't perfect, but it is pretty good. For the price, it will save you thousands of keystrokes. I just hope this review presents an objective approach that might explain some of the more negative ones. If you find any questions or issues, comment and I'll try my best to address.

I've been searching for a USB 2.0 flash card reader that doesn't need stupid drivers (I'm a bit obsessive about keeping my system clean) for the longest time and have finally found it!When plugged in, the device shows up as 4 separate drives. Transfers are painless and you can also transfer between multiple flash card formats w/o copying to your hard drive first (though I haven't had a need to do this).
If you do install the drivers, there's a button on the reader that transfers files automatically. I haven't installed the software for this, so I don't know where the files go :-)

Overall this is a great flash reader, but you need to be careful if you use both a USB 2.0 PC adapter card for a laptop and a high capacity flash memory card.I was going to return this to Amazon because at first I couldn't get it to work with my Sandisk Ultra II 2gb card when connected to my laptop via a USB 2.0 PC Card. I have 3 other CF cards of 512mb capacity each, 2 by SimpleTech and 1 by Transcend, and all these would work fine with the ImageMate. But for some reason, the 2gb card would not show up. After much experimentation, I tried connecting a small USB power cord to the USB 2.0 PC card, and finally the Ultra II card worked fine. The cord I used came with the PC card when I bought it, and one end plugs into the card below the 4 USB ports and the other end plugs into my computer's native USB 1.1 ports.
Apparently, the ImageMate reader requires a little more power than a laptop PC card adapter can supply on its own to read a higher capacity CF card -at least the Sandisk Ultra II 2gb card. At first I thought it was a flaw in the ImageMate, but I tried a Lexar 2.0 reader on the same USB 2.0 PC card without the extra cord, and the same thing happened -it could read lower capacity CF cards but not the 2gb Sandisk Ultra II. When I used the extra cord, the Lexar could read the card just fine.
So you only have to worry if you're using a higher capacity card on a hub or PC card that might not supply enough power. If your PC card came with a supplementary power cord, use that. If not, then go buy a PC card adapter that comes with such a cord. If you're using lower capacity CF cards or your computer's native USB ports, you won't have to worry.
The speed of this reader is pretty fast. I tested it against the Lexar 2.0 reader I have, and the ImageMate is about 20% faster. I transferred 1.89gb of data from the 2gb card to my computer in 4 minutes and 41 seconds.
Don't bother installing the ArcSoft button software they supply with this reader. It didn't do anything special, IMO, but most importantly it caused some hiccups on my Windows XP Pro-SP1 system on shutdown and reboot.
This is a well-made, sturdy and attractive reader with a little rubber strip on the bottom so it won't slip, plus a separate cradle. You can use the reader with or without the cradle.
If you're looking for a good, fast multi-card reader, this ImageMate will fill the bill.

This reader works perfectly. Plug and play set up. The only thing that kept me from giving it 5 stars is that the cables may be too short for some people. For example, if you keep your PC on the floor but you want the reader on the desktop, the cable may not reach. I didn't have this problem, but other people will.

I love my new kindle cover. I was surprised that the front with the flowers was smooth (I was expecting something like burlap), meaning that it snag on anything. The inside of the cover is like a black velvet finish, so your screen will definitely be protected, even if you don't have a clear shield over it. The kindle pops right into the back snugly. Definitely worth the price.

The product says it is for the amazon kindle fire, but they don't tell you which size. It seems that it is meant for the small, original fire, and not the 7-inch. If you have a 7 inch kindle fire, DO NOT BUY! If you have the small, regular kindle, then it seems like a nice product. Luckily, amazon has great customer service and i was able to return it.

My system details: Sony Clié TJ37 with PalmOS 5.2, used constantly at Dartmouth College for all my note-taking, MP3 player, camera, and out-of-dorm internet needs; Debian Linux OS desktop computer used for HotSyncing;Positives:
-I have to say that the keyboard portion itself is excellent. I am normally a desktop user, and switching to using this keyboard took absolutely no effort. The only keys that are in unusual places are the delete, slash, and backslash keys. Reviews for other IR keyboards had said the spacebars were weird on this, the keyboard is split down the center, and is natural whether you normally hit it with your right or left thumb (I use both).
-The keyboard is also designed so that you should never have to use the stylus while it is connected. It takes a little getting used to be, but there are 'Fn+[whatever]' key combinations for almost every operation (from replicating the standard hard keys, to selecting text, to 'Done' and 'New' buttons).
-The connection to the PDA itself is excellent. I was able to move the infrared transmitter all over the place, and the PDA was still able to receive a very reliable signal. The transmitter itself is on a piece of plastic that rotates (no sliding, but you can just slide the PDA itself on the stand). None of those dumb mirrors to deal with.
-The software driver that you painlessly install also ads an application called 'Keyboard'. In it, you can tune absolutely everything from how long the PDA should search for the keyboard when it first turns on, to how the repeat rate for if you hold down a key, to 10 customizable 'Cmd+[number]' keys. Also, those of you internationals will be pleased that you can also choose different keyboard layouts. US English, French, and German come installed by default, and it has the capability to have new layouts installed (I didn't investigate where you can get them or how many are available, though).
-The keys respond very quickly (you could certainly type at least 80 words per minute speed on it). The repeat speed (if you hold down a button) is somewhat slow but not much to complain about, in my opinion though.
-The stand to hold the PDA is very sturdy and holds the PDA well and securely. It does have a negative with the metal bar though (see below).
-There is a Windows .exe installer that should auto-run and be no hassle if you use Windoze. I, however, use Linux. I was very impressed, as I am with any company that does this, that the CD actually had documentation for installing the driver under a Linux system. The installation is simple for Linux (or Mac OS for that matter) users. Just install one little Keyboard.prc file.
Negatives:
-This keyboard does not have a lock to hold it flat, thereby making it somewhat difficult to type with the keyboard on your lap (the thing folds if you put much weight on it). You have to play a little balancing act to use it on any uneven surface. It is designed to be used on a flat surface.
-I like how this has a metal bar to hold the PDA on the built-in stand (more secure in my opinion than rubber strips, etc). However, the bar is situated somewhat too close (at least for my TJ37). It just fits in without any case or anything on it. The TJ37 is about 1.3 cm or 0.55 inches deep, so you can gauge you PDA accordingly. Being just a metal bar, you can just bend it out with some pliers, though. Not a particularly neat solution, but it works.
Notes:
-The installation instructions for Mac/Linux say to download the driver from their website. I have no idea why they say that as the most recent version of the .prc file is right there on the CD.
Setup was extremely easy and quick. After loading the program, my PocketPC recognized it without any problem. Weight, size & design are very attractive. The keys themselves are VERY comfortable, and I find no difference in typing speed versus a desktop keyboard. The metal front bar is slightly loose when holding my e310 (7/16" thick, bar has 10/16" space but only 2/16" room after accounting for protrusions, probably a snug fit for a 9/16" thick device).
Editing keyboard shorcuts are excellent! While using a Word or similar application, I can use control-X,C,V,Z for cut, copy, past & undo. I can move one word at a time (Control-arrows), to beginning and end of a line (GreeenFN, home/end), page up/down (GreenFN, arrows), select one word (Control, BlueFN, arrows) or line. Most, but not all, of these shortcuts are the same ones from the desktop computer, so it was easy to remember.
The keyboard recognized application-specific shortcuts (Control-S for save and Control-Q for save & quit in TreNotes). Also brought up Help file, Control-H, but I'm not sure if this is PPC2002 or an application shortcut. Other file/task shortcuts that were very handy were BlueFN-X (close file), Enter (open hightlighted file), and Alt-Tab (cycles through open apps).
Menu navigation shortcuts were not as good. Alt (don't hold down), arrows (or Alt & first letter of menu) allows movement among bottom menu items, but this was not as convenient as using the stylus because once the menu is selected, the only way to select the sub-menu (pull-down item) is to scroll among the choices. This is OK if there are only 3 choices, but some menu items had 10 choices. Some menu items do not have a first-letter: They only have pictures. The only way to select these are by scrolling with arrows. There is no keyboard shortcut for moving among TABs (ex. Task & Note tabs in Tasks editing mode).
In summary, when I am doing most of my heavy typing, the keyboard allowed full access to editing shorcuts and enough of the application/menu shortcuts, so that I did not need to stop and get my stylus. When I am doing heavy file manipulations, I use the stylus. Since these two types of activities were carried out at slightly different times, I did not notice the less-useful menu naviation features. I did notice the lack of a Tab-navigation feature, but it was a small matter.
My only wish is that there was another Blue FN key somewhere on the right bottom or top of the keyboard for quickly entering numbers while typing mostly letters. When I am entering a number on the left side of the keyboard, I have to awkwardly use my right index finger to press the left-side BlueFN key.
Split Space Bar: The stange split in the middle takes getting used to. My thumb lands about 25% of the time right in the crack. (Once in a while my thumb lands on the plastic protrusion, a little to the right of the crack, but it does not hurt my finger as a reviewer on Amazon has said, I do not hit it very hard). Most of the time, my right AND left thumbs seem to land on the LEFT space bar (I am right handed and my right thumb is habitually below my left thumb).
Toshiba e310 specific: Certain functions do not work on e310. FN-ESC did not work in contacts. FN-Delete does not toggle insert/delete. Numbers/letters toggle function when NumLock is engaged does not work. FN-Enter does nothing, but Enter by itself selects files, etc. The bold blue masks (bottom ones, ex. Z-key has "today" and "OK" masked on it) seem to be designed for a phone, and does nothing. Similarly, the blue ribbon mask on the Control key does nothing.
General Comments: Battery long lasting. Body rocks, right side not flush against table (paper used to stabilize). Backrest not adjustable (box used to raise viewing angle). Comes with a beautiful heavily padded leather case. Smelled heavily of rubber/chemicals but is dissipating. Key action feels really good (not solid click like an IBM laptops, but soft airbubble click like a Toshiba laptops, which I prefer). Can turn off keyboard sound.

I've got a Treo 600, SE 900 and several iPAQs. I have a drawer full of older PDAs and keyboards as well. The thing i love about this keyboard is that it works with everything! I can use it with any of my phones or PDAs and it works like a champ.The thing is also very durable I've dropped it, stepped on it and had my kids play with it and it just keeps working. Battery life is great too, still have the original batteries in it after 6 months.
On the downside, you have to get used to using the FN key to enter numbers but after a week or so i was just as fast as using a keyboard with dedicated number keys.
I bought this after doing a lot of research about Think Outside and IR keyboards. Turns out Think Outside makes keyboards for the biggies like Palm, Dell and others.
I highly recommend it!

I have been using this keyboard for several weeks now, and I simply love it. It works extremely well. It's easy to set up, easy to use, feels great, has many shortcut keys integrated, and is lightweight. If I type lightly, I can even use it on my lap, though I would imagine it's not stable enough for most users to do so.My only complaint is the backrest (which holds up the PDA) can slip if not used on a hard surface. I tend to work on the back of my backpack (the flat side) when commuting to work, though this little stand sometimes slips and wants to fall.
However, I have no other complaints. It's allowed me to (almost) ditch my laptop for research papers and essays.

I have only good thigs to say about this keyboard. It folds and unfolds easily and comes with a nice pouch to store it in. The keys feel like a real keyboard and are pretty quiet when typing. This is important to me, since I'll be using it for taking notes in class. The keyboard folds out flat and stays in place thanks to rubber inserts in the back. The synchronization works perfectly with my Zire 31. I would recommend this keyboard to anyone looking for a compact and effective way to enter data into their PDA.
