For anyone in Chicago who may be considering this device, my daily commute is up and down Lake Shore Drive surrounded by the radio towers on top of the buildings downtown and it works. Can be a little static-y at times, but the signal improves rapidly as you get away from the Loop.excellent choice for droid x. works as well as a wired mp3 player for the car. great for older cars. no static or hissing noises like previous models i have used. make sure multimedia volume is at full volume. This item is great. Charges whole in the car dock and pluged in so you can use your phone thru your car speakers.I knew there was potential for this item to not be as good as a hard wired device. I don't consider myself an audiophile and would have been pleased with basic performance. I like the build quality of the item and its looks. Works as advertised, but the static is constant even though the unit is just about four feet from the antena. This was on a station with no local interference.
