iConvert Portable Document and Photo Scanner

iConvert Portable Document and Photo ScannerI purchased this scanner to use while traveling to scan documents and photos quickly. I was hoping for something to give me archival scans of historical documents. The scanner is simple to operate and I'm happy with the quality of the scans. I rated this scanner 5 stars because I would certainly recommend it to anyone looking for a hand-held portable scanner; however, you will also want to consider your own skill at holding the scanner steady while moving it across a page. Although I haven't used the scanner a lot yet (and perhaps more practice will help) I'm struggling with that. I'm trying to devise a way to move the scanner smoothly across the page while at the same time holding the document or photo securely. It's particularly difficult with smaller items. If you are rock-steady and precise, I'm sure you will have excellent results.

Bottom line -I'm very happy with the scanner itself. I will definitely take it with me when traveling, however at home I will use my flatbed scanner. If you are considering a purchase, just consider your own dexterity as well.

The overall design of the scanner is great, it is small, portable, and just looks great overall. However, the quality of the scans are sub-par. I have tried it on each of the settings and on both resolutions and none produce a fine quality scan. The quality of the scanned document is poor and difficult to read. The file sizes are large so you would assume they are high quality. They are large files but essentially just a waste of space. The OCR is Abbyy Fine Reader which is able to produce quality OCR, but it doesn't make up for the low grade scans.

I bought this scanner because I frequently need to make copies when I am away from my office. There sometimes is not a copier available. It was very easy to set up including the clock which shows the date and time the document was copied. Now I carry it in my attache case and when a copy is needed, I get it out and run it over the document(s). When I get back to the office, I use the USB cable to hook it to my computer, click on "computer". then Drive F and there are all the documents. I then print them and put them in the file. I was so impressed with the scanner that I bought one for a CPA friend and he is equally impressed. The one problem that I have had is that the instructions state that you can scan a document into the computer and make changes to it (such as an invoice or other document that has blanks to fill in). The instructions do not tell you how to convert the document so that changes can be made to it. The instructions could be better. I have been unable to figure out how to do that. I am not a compputer expert so I may be able to get someone to show me how. I highy recommend this scanner.

Toshiba PA3188U-1PRP USB/VGA expansion pack for e740, e755

Toshiba PA3188U-1PRP USB/VGA expansion pack for e740, e755I really love it, I know it's expensive but it worth it,

I am PreSale Support, so I need to give several presetantion in the client office's and I really love to give my presetation with my PDA. it is easy and fast.

You can Download the presetation software for FREE in the Toshiba Technical Support Center

also the USB port OK, practically you can connect any USB appliance, like a Mouse, keyboard, USB flash memry, printer, modem, network card, USB Hub etc..

I own a USB flash memory, and it is really usefull to share documents with any PC with out Active Sync, using this USB Storage Flash Memory.

I give 4 stara instead of 5 because it really consume battery life and finding drivers for the USB appliance is dificult, I have not jet found a good Mouse Driver.

but I really like my expansion pack

the best part is that I bouth this Item in my vacation in Spain, and the price tag was mistake and was only €20

The expansion pack adds USB and VGA out to the e740 Pocket PC. Perfect for presentations, and is small enough that it won't get in the way. Hook up a monitor and a mouse and you have a full scale PC ! Great addition to an already usefull tool.

Buy Toshiba PA3188U-1PRP USB/VGA expansion pack for e740, e755 Now

This has to be the coolest add on for my Toshiba e755 Pocket PC.

I wanted this Expansion Pack when I first heard about it, but didn't want to shell out a hundred bucks for it. When I saw CircuitCity was selling it on there site for thirteen dollars I couldn't resist ordering it.

Problems: The first time I used it I had a problem that I didn't have enough free system memory. A hard reboot and installing all programs that didn't need to be installed to main memory to compact flash card fixed the problem.

I don't like having to remove my Pocket PC from my Belkin case in fear of dropping my Pocket PC, but I was able to resolve my problem by modifying my case. I guess it's better to remove it, since my Pocket PC gets a little hot when using it.

Pro's: It's does what it says. I've tried it with a monitor and projector with full success.

Output

640x480x64k @60Hz

or

800x600x64k @60Hz

Plus you have the capability of mirroring your Pocket PC display onto a projector or monitor. You have several options for output display. Upright (This doesn't take up whole display) or rotated to one side to fit whole display.

I would recommend you try a better Power Point program than the free one from Toshiba. Go visit Handango and search for "Power Point". I like Pocket Slides. Expensive, but you can do more than any other program out there. Try the trial before you buy.

All in all I'm very satisfied with my Toshiba Expansion Pack.

PDair V01 Black Leather Case for Samsung Galaxy S WiFi 4.2 / Galaxy Player 4.2 YP-GI1

PDair V01 Black Leather Case for Samsung Galaxy S WiFi 4.2 / Galaxy Player 4.2 YP-GI1I bought a Samsung Galaxy Player 4.2 as a PDA, replacing an iPAQ, which replaced a Palm. With this case, it is always handy at work. The case looks nicer in person than it does in the photos -the white stitching is less obtrusive. The belt clip is quite secure, and the device fits well.

Survivor for iPhone 3G/3GS, black/black

Survivor for iPhone 3G/3GS, black/blackI was a little hesitant at first because there are some stereotypes we have when dealing with online purchases.

What ever negative stereotypes one may have in mind don't apply to this. Not by a long shot.

THIS case is by far the most snug, fitting, and most oustanding case I have ever had for my phone. I go to great lengths to keep my phone in the best condition possible, I've had it for 3 years and there isnt a mark on it besides my fingerprints. This case was maybe a little difficult or a worry to put on the phone because you have a fear of the rubber/silicone getting a tear in it when putting it on the phone. But that didnt happen at all. Once the iphone was placed in its harder plastic case, getting the rubber/silicone on it was only a little difficult because it fits PERFECTLY like a skin for it. There is absolutely no wiggle room within the case, once it was completely put on the phone I was amazed at how accurately cut and designed this case actually was. The plastic screen that protects the touchscreen of the phone reshapes itself after each time you are using the touchscreen. So when youve placed your finger on the screen for swiping or usage and then remove your fingers from it... any air pocket or visual evidence of where you placed your fingers removes itself after a few seconds. This is unlike the OtterBox which has constant evidence of usage where the protective screen sticks to your iphones touchscreen.

The only thing I recommend (and its a preference of the user) is that once you receive this iphone case you remove the "microphone" and "speaker" guards located at the bottom on the inside of the plastic. At first while using my phone it muffles the audio and your voice a little too much for my personal choice. They are there to protect the phone, however I personally dont have any issues with removing the little filters located where the mic and speaker are inside the case. Others may not mind having them. I prefer to remove them.

Assembly: Not very difficult.

Functionality: Perfect, buttons are exactly where they are supposed to be inside the case. The belt clip even appears to have a secondary emergency catch where "if" your phone is coming loose the phone clips catch in notches designed not to let the phone go without you physically removing it.

Recommendations: Remove the audio/mic filters inside the case if your preference is increased sound/voice.

Overall: If you want a case that fits perfectly, has a pivot cover that protects your camera lens, an emergency secondary catch for your beltclip, and is perfect in the way it fits and functions this case is it.

We go hunting a lot so we bought this case. It protects the phone good. We had a problem with the case when we bought. With some of the protection stuff you could not here the person talking. Nore could they here you. we duge the little plugs out and now works fine just not competly water prof any more.

Used this to connect to a regular mag mount antenna, and am getting great range. Haven't measured SWR or anything but seems to be hitting the repeaters I'm after. It does what it is supposed to, no problems.

The mount into the radio is a little weird in that it has a 'nut' whose purpose I can't figure out, but it's no harm.

Shure PG58-QTR Cardioid Dynamic Vocal Microphone with 1/4-inch Cable

Shure PG58-QTR Cardioid Dynamic Vocal Microphone with 1/4-inch Cable
  • Tailored frequency response is smooth and extended. Tuned specifically for vocal applications
  • Cardioid polar pattern picks up the most sound from in front of the microphone and some sound from the sides. Less susceptible to feedback in high volume settings.
  • Dynamic cartridge has a simple, rugged coil. Handles extreme volume levels without distortion
  • Integral "pop" filter reduces explosive breath sounds and wind noise.
  • On/off switch for onstage control
  • A rugged mic tuned to accentuate the clarity of lead and back-up vocals
  • Microphone Type: Dynamic (moving coil)^Polar Pattern: Cardioid (unidirectional)
  • Frequency Response: 60 to 15,000 Hz
  • Polarity: Positive pressure on diaphragm produces positive voltage on pin 2 relative to pin 3 of microphone output connector

So I run a small recording studio in my home and work with the audio systems at our church and other events. All the places I've ever worked at trust SHURE microphones. I bought the PG58, and its apparent why that is. Giving little or no feedback at high volumes, the PG58 really owns up to its SHURE name. It has a shockmount inside so the handling noise is barely there. The rugged handle and materials used to build it can take a serious beating. I myself treat my equipment very well, but I know others who use SHURE microphones and DON'T take the best care....and they're nearly indestructible! Bottom Line, great mic for a great price, especially if you buy it on Amazon! So far, its pleased me endlessly, and I'm sure it will continue to do so!

Buy Shure PG58-QTR Cardioid Dynamic Vocal Microphone with 1/4-inch Cable Now

This is a GREAT mic! I bought it specifically for Karaoke. It is used along side a well worn SM58 and you know what? It actually sounds better than it's more expensive counterpart. Granted it is 20 years newer, but hey...It's great. It makes my crappy voice sound great when singing Karaoke and thats all I care about! For the price, it's a decent mic.

It came with a mic stand holder, a case and a double ended XLR cable. Perfect for my needs. Shure makes good stuff!

Purchased 2 of these for a gig and they performed as good as our SM58's, no problem.

Want Shure PG58-QTR Cardioid Dynamic Vocal Microphone with 1/4-inch Cable Discount?

A solid entry level mic. Not as much gain nor is the shock mounting as good as the SM58, but better than anything else I have found at this price. Best as a mic for spoken word use, but not bad as a vocal or instrument mic. On the other hand if you drop the $$$ on say an AKG-535 you will notice a huge difference. It is a dynamic mic. so it has to be used in very close proximity to the source, so don't expect it (or any mic like it) to pick up much once it is more than a few inches from the source. Pretty rugged and reliable, and the cable isn't bad.

NOTE: if you plan to plug this mic into a 1/4" input make sure you get a transformer and not just an adapter. XLR and 1/4" inputs have a different impedance, without the transformer your gain (signal level) will be very low!

I bought this mic for use doing interviews. The reviews I read said it had great mic isolation and had very little handling noise. This is NOT true. Just holding the mic as stationary as you possibly can you will hear handling noise. If you mount it to a mic stand and anything touches it, you will hear that noise in your recording. I spoke with an engineer at Shure and he said that this is not the mic for handheld use. It's an entry level mic that is very limited in how it can be effectively used without tons of handling noise.

Evecase Premium 360 Leather Cover Case with Stand Function for Sony Xperia Tablet S 9.4-Inch Androi

Evecase Premium 360 Leather Cover Case with Stand Function for Sony Xperia Tablet S 9.4-Inch Android Tablet - BlackNice leather, fits my Xperia perfectly. All the slots and holes are in the right places for the charger, camera, etc. The only slight drawback is when the charger is connected, you can't fold the case closed all the way. But for the price and quality of the product, I can live with that.

This is a very nice case... Very well built! It has great quality and fit. My Xperia fits perfectly and there is no real added bulk. It is thicker than the Sony cases but this is actually what I wanted. I wanted a leather case that added a little more protection than I feel the Sony ones do. The little metal plate in the front of the case with the manufacturer's name on it adds a kinda richness. It makes the case appear more expensive. I am, however, concerned about the elastic band that is used for keeping the case closed. I'm not sure if it will wear out fast or not. That though, is not a deal breaker for me. The price point is such that I would just buy a new case later if it does give away. I definitely recommend this case, especially if you don't want to spend 50 plus dollars on Sony ones. This one is a great alternative. Trust me you will love it! (One more thing... the description says "360 Leather Cover...". That is not really the right description. It does not have the "360" feature that some cases have for other tablets. It looks exactly like the picture.)

After being delayed, cancelled and having to order it again, I finally received the case for my Xperia. It does the job, which was to have a protective case for my Xperia Tablet, for storing and traveling. When I put the Xperia in, it's crooked on the bottom display and I can't straighten it so it's even. Being that I'm only using it for storing/traveling, it doesn't really bother me (My Xperia is in the cradle most of the time) and when you wrap the band around it, it feels secure.

Acer Aspire V5-571P-6473 15.6-Inch Touch Screen Laptop (Silky Silver)

Acer Aspire V5-571P-6473 15.6-Inch Touch Screen LaptopIt seems that laptop manufacturers think that a touchscreen is only useful in 13" and smaller machines. I do actual work on my laptop and need at least a 15" display. The Acer V5-571P was the only 15" touchscreen laptop I could find that is available today (Nov '12) and reasonably priced. I picked up the Core i5 model from the Microsoft store for $699 and upgraded the memory to 8GB RAM and replaced the slow 500GB HD with a 256GB Samsung SSD. The motherboard supports 6Gbs SATA, so I'm able to get the full read/write speeds from my SSD (400MBs write / 500MBs read). Replacing the RAM was simple because there's a panel held on by 2 screws. Replacing the hard drive is something that will give many people pause. Basically the entire laptop needs to be disassembled to get access to the HDD. It takes about 30 minutes of careful disassembly; luckily there is an Acer repair manual PDF available to show you how. Windows 8 boots pretty quickly from a normal HDD, but after installing the SSD, it now goes from completely powered off to the log in screen in 8 seconds. The touchscreen works as advertised and I have no complaints about it. The keyboard and trackpad are not so great. The trackpad is placed a little too far left so that my palm is constantly brushing it and causing unintended behavior. The backlit keys are a nice addition. The battery it ships with is a low capacity (14.8V 2350mAH). This is too small for a Core i5 laptop; With normal use I'm able to get 3.5 hours out of it. I think the battery life will be less with the original hard drive since the Samsung SSD is super low power. I have not been able to find a high capacity battery for this model. I would gladly carry some extra bulk to increase the battery life. If anyone finds a compatible battery of at least 4400mAH, please let me know.

Pros:

1) Touchscreen is fast and accurate; works as you would like

2) Price is fair for a 15" Core i5 dual core touchscreen laptop

3) Has enough ports to do what you need

4) Slim and relatively light for the power it packs

5) Includes a USB 3.0 port

6) Supports 6GBs SATA

7) Easy to upgrade the RAM

8) Supports dual monitor output (as most modern laptops do)

9) Power adapter is small and light

Cons:

1) Keyboard is a bit cheap some keys temporarily stick as you're typing

2) Touchpad works fine, but is a bit large so at times is accidentally touched

3) Battery life is not great (3.5 hours) and Acer doesn't offer a high capacity battery (yet?)

4) Build quality feels cheap and plasticky

5) The Ethernet+VGA dongle is less than ideal

6) If you're brave, it's worth replacing the HDD with an SSD.

7) The SD card slot is too shallow. You can't leave a card in the slot when you travel or it will be broken/lost because it sticks out too much.

8) Speaker sound quality is poor

9) Doesn't wake from sleep when you open the lid (can be either a Win8 bug or hardware issue)

Hardware wise, it's excellent and you're getting a lot of bang for your buck. Unfortunately, this laptop was plagued with wifi problems for the whole time I owned it. It would not maintain a wifi connection for more than 20 minutes before completely crapping out and giving me the "limited access" message.

Doing a google search for Acer Aspire A5 wifi showed me a TON of users who were having the same issues and there wasn't a fix available.

By the way, the win8 pre-loaded a VPN, you cannot use school download win7 VPN, but you can config the WIN8 pre-load VPN for your school or company network. Unfortunately, fresh out of the box I am having the same WIFI problem. BoxWave HP iPAQ 211 ClearTouch Crystal Screen Protector (Single Pack)

BoxWave HP iPAQ 211 ClearTouch Crystal Screen ProtectorIf you own a HP iPAQ 211 Enterprise, this is a must on your screen. Some reviews were unfavorable because they were first time users of the product, but don't let that detour you from purchasing it. I always purchase sreen protectors, and this one is great, but you must take you time when putting it on your devise. It is clear, as if there was nothing there, you will like this screen protector.

This screen protector was the 2nd (type) 4th, 5th and the last kind I'll buy for my device. The first was an HP branded 3 pack. The first 2 of witch sacrificed themselves showing me how not to put them on the 210s raised edge screen. After a few months I did notice the screen was showing signs of wear. Originally I was gong to by another "some brand" 5 pack and didn't notice till I had the package open looking at only one anti-glare film. After 6ish months there were still no signs of wear like the other one, then I crushed the screen itself and had to send the unit back for repair. When it came back I did get one of the multi packs and was frankly very unhappy with the softer cheaper films. They showed wear very quickly and even affected the way the touch screen responded. I didn't even get halfway thro the pack before buying another ClearTouch Crystal that lasted for along time... I was working on a project at my desk and dropped a hook scribe maybe 6~8" skewering my screen at an angle leaving an 1/8" open gouge. I was pretty disgusted and sure I killed another screen. Luckily the unit kept working but I left the film on not wanting to see what damage I had done to the actual screen. Around a month later I got tired of looking at the torn screen and decided to just put on one of the remaining cheap'Os left from the multi pack. When I finally pulled back the ClearTouch the hook scribe didn't make it all the way thro the film; there wasn't a mark on the screen. The harder film took the hit and left the softer Digitizer unharmed. I've been using the current film from ClearTouch for about 8 months and yes it does have some signs of were but not enough that I would bother replacing even if using the cheaper ones.

Just to put some of this into perspective. I am a Tech and use the 210 as a quick reference tool and to pull tons of log/error files from the machines I service. I use the hell out of the touch screen transferring files and scrolling across expanded parts views or wiring schematics. In my off time I've used it for everything from an MP3 player to picture viewer. Cheaper film may work ok for most but these cant be beat in my book for there longevity and the sheer amount of protection they do give. As far as putting the screens on theirs not really much difference. Their all a pain and the best way I've found is to wait until my wife takes one of her lava showers and steams up the bathroom. The steam clears the air and makes putting them on much easier.

Buy BoxWave HP iPAQ 211 ClearTouch Crystal Screen Protector (Single Pack) Now

Good points: Obviously far longer wearing than softer screen protectors

Annoying points: Harder to install/curl off backing paper, No chance to practice with the first protector and live with the second, Too expensive to replace if you DO get a mar on the surface.

Replaced this brand with a different kind from a 15 pack of softer protectors (i.e., 15 protectors for almost the same price as 1 protector), and the end effect was much the same, as far as bubbles and ease of use were concerned.

BTW, I've also installed a hard protector like this on a cell phone, however the phone did not have a raised case framing the screen so installation was FAR easier even with a stiff protector. Also, on the phone there is no stylus wear that will make me replace the protector.

However, I haven't felt any reluctance to replace the softer kind I now use whenever I feel like it, as opposed to when it would be absolutely necessary.

They fooled me once, shame on them; fool me twice,...

eForCity Reusable Screen Protector LCD Shield Guard Compatible with Asus Eee Pad Transformer TF101The fact it is able to be removed and replaced is great.

At first it seemed to not be that great. Wait about 1-2 days. After the screen sets, it's much better. The surface smooths out, the texture on the screen becomes more familiar. I think the glass on the Asus Tablet is amazing, so anything that covers it up will take some getting used to.

I can't believe that this item is perfectly fitted to the screen of our ASUS Pad. We have been looking around for the same kind or type of screen protectors for awhile and most of them at the local stores were selling for enormous amount...like $30 plus....So, when I found this one here for less than $3 and free shipping, I could not passed the chance. It has a sticky side after peeling off the thin plastic protector....so it easily sticks on the screen. You might see air bubbles but let them sit there and just gently massages them out...Eventually, these bubble will go away.

a plastic sheet is like a piece of paper, it's thin and fragile, so it's very easy to get chinks when inserted it into an envelope-like container.

please also suggest the manufacturer to change the opening of the thick paper container to the wide side, thus the plastic screen protector sheet would easier to be inserted, avoid any possible chink damage during such process. to make the opening on the narrow side of the container would only make the insert process more difficult since the depth will be longer, the opening narrower, they'd cause inevitable chink damages.

ask the manufacturer/supplier why they have to pre-cut 2 holes on top of the screen protector for eeeTF instead of 1? since the pad only got one camera at the center top.

tell the manufacturer/supplier the dimensions they cut the plastic sheet are not accurate, the length is shorter, so there would be a tiny gap when apply the plastic screen either on the left or on the right, thus, the pre-cut hole for the camera will not be right on the center location.

ask the manufacturer/supplier to remove the tiny piece of the pre-cut part of the punched camera round piece before packing. pre-cut 1 (actually 2) two round circles but not cleaned them up and force the customers to do the cleaning might cause further unnecessary damages to the plastic sheet. the round pieces are so small, so what kind of tool they have to find at home to take up or pop out them?

ask them to use thicker container to hold the item. (well, this might be just a wishful thinking)

as for the seller, my suggestions are:

TRY NOT TO SHIP THIS ITEM BY USPS.

why? because this item in a big yellow envelope will come together with lot of different sized mails, junk mails, ads...etc, mixed together during the shipping/delivery process, the big yellow envelop will be ended up bended or wrapped around with other smaller mails and jammed into the small space of a mailbox. more damages would be caused.

besides, USPS usually not quite care about what they ship or deliver. the damage ratios of the shipped boxes, containers, or anything larger are quite high. in other words, USPS doesn't care about anything, they just deliver. their trucks only stop at the mailbox, all the mails, no matter what sizes, they just try their best to jam all of mailed materials into the smaller mailbox opening and space. fragile stuff often got damages by such forceful jammed push.

SHIP VIA UPS, because they usually only have merchandise to deliver, no junk mail. and they often deliver to the front doors instead of mailbox. UPS freight rate maybe a bit higher, but you can always share the cost with your customers. they'd be more appreciated to have a perfect item to be delivered.

get a large "FRAGILE ITEM INSIDE! PLEASE DO NOT FOLD!" stamp(seal?) and print it on both sides of the large envelop. this warning might reduce more possible damages during the shipping process.

FINALLY, if the seller could guarantee there would be a perfect newly improved and corrected screen protector for us, i'd like to buy it without any hesitation, because this seller is quite trustworthy and reliabe; because they care!

Dell Axim X51 416MHz PDA w/3.5 Touchscreen

Dell Axim X51 416MHz PDA w/3.5 TouchscreenI was looking for a PDA to organize my daily tasks, shift work, notes and contacts. After doing several searches on the internet, reviews, and compare prices and quality products, I chose the Dell Axim X51. This unit offers everything you need to stay organized,it has bluetooth technology plus you can connect to the internet. Despite being a refurbished unit, upon receipt I thought, "truly is a refurbished one?" This unit was basically new, as brought from the factory. In addition, the seller (Guaranteed Tech) provides a fast and quality service. I definitely recommend the Dell Axim X51.

This PDA has been great in every way. Long battery life, easy to read and use screen, fast wireless capability. The buttons on the device are in the exact right place for ease of use. There is a compact flash slot that i have attached devices to, like a bar code scanner for inventory.

I would highly recommend this product for people wanting to be productive, organized, and mobile.

I bought this item refurbished for my husband. He didn't want a lot of bells and whistles, really just something to keep track of contacts and calendar appointments, etc. He loved his old phone that had Windows Mobile 5 on it, so he could use this PDA right away. We did have to download the new Windows Mobile Device Center on our laptop so that ActiveSync would work, and I used the server trick that I found on that stops ActiveSync from constantly running in the background. Other than that we haven't run across any problems so far.

sad to say that the only thing we use the PDA for is to play solitare and bubble buster. Being a PDA it is easy to hold and play the games and it doesnot interfere with the phones when we need to use them.

IMAGE® 2 in 1 Wireless Handheld USB Optical Trackball Mouse - Rechargable

IMAGEĀ® 2 in 1 Wireless Handheld USB Optical Trackball Mouse - RechargableI figured for 30 bucks, it's half the price of my Logitech wireless trackball so I'll give it a shot.

I plugged it into the USB with a wire to its tail to charge it. Ready to go in about half an hour, I left the factory settings intact for sensitivity and speed.

I plugged in the 1/4 in stub usb receiver, removed the cord and it moved the cursor immediately no setup or messing around [Dell laptop]. Now I got a surprise.

Unlike my other wireless trackball, this acts as a regular wireless mouse too. Move it around the desktop and it works great. Keep it stationary and move the trackball and the mouse moves well in this mode too! It also has a scroll wheel which is very helpful and is rotated by the thumb [actually by the joint closest the hand just beyond the first metacarpal.]

Then, I picked it up and used it as a handheld and it was very comfortable. It worked surprisingly well this way but I don't do much gaming and need both hands to type so it sits on the desk.

Now something this weird takes a bit of getting used to. At first I was moving the trackball and the mouse at the same time. It follows both directions but I can't think fast enough to provide two simultaneous sets of directions. I learned to do one or the other and have settled on moving the mouse instead of the trackball in most cases. When the laptop goes to the TV chair, this device is perfect. The USB stub is so small it does not get hung up like a thumb drive may. Also, I go into trackball mode with it sitting on the upholstered arm of my chair.

The one issue I have is that my hands are a little larger than average and the unit is designed for a smaller hand. If I turn my hand up when holding the device with fingers on triggers and thumb on trackball, the device lays across my fingers not touching my palm. The longer I use it, the more comfortable it gets. I realize that I do not have to manhandle it like I do my Logitech trackball. I am sure that women will be much better with this size wise and coordination wise. It is more like a sketch charcoal than a hammer light fingered folks will love it. If you need to grab and grip, this mouse may not be for you.

I have been using it for a while and just realized why I really like this little fellow no batteries required. It has an off/on switch but who really pays attention to that. I leave mine on and will plug it into the usb for 45 min and it's good for another stretch. I hate buying batteries!

I bought this seeking relief from ever-increasing pain in both hands. (My right hand had begun to ache so much I started alternating with my left.) I plugged this in and after making a simple adjustment to the trackball speed and scroll wheel operation everything was fine. I don't know what 9-out-of-10-Doctors would recommend, but I have not any pain in either hand since I started using this mouse. It's easy to use off-surface with either hand and can also be used more conventionally and placed flat on a surface.

tldr:helped hand pain 100%

This may have been unique to me because of the seller that fulfilled the order (BlueMall), but mine arrived in a shoddy unlabeled box basically shoved inside a large envelope and stuffed inside of my mailbox. It had been crushed pretty thoroughly by the time it arrived and they didn't even bother labeling it 'do not crush' on the package. The actual device did not function, as over about 2 feet from the device it would disconnect constantly, which meant I couldn't actually pick it up from my desk to use it in the fashion that it is meant to be used. Of course, many others are saying the device works well, so mine might have been damaged due to improper packaging. I attempted to use it with the USB plugged into my computer, but apparently it will not work while it is plugged in to charge.

When I contacted the seller, they wanted me to call a phone number that I couldn't connect to instead of helping me with email. They didn't offer real assistance until I left negative seller feedback, at which point they gave me a return label to print out so I could return it. Notably that was only offered after I wasn't satisfied with a partial refund. I feel like they would not have assisted me at all had I not left negative feedback, only wanting to convince me to remove it.

Even with packaging and seller issues aside, I did not find this device to be usable as a regular trackball/mouse, it is not comfortable to hold if it is on the desk, so I would not recommend getting it unless you intend to always use it standing. This device just attempts to do too much and ends up only being half-way decent at each thing rather than really good at one.

rooCASE Super Bubble Neoprene Sleeve Case for Lenovo ThinkPad X120e 05962RU 11.6-Inch NotebookThis sleeve really is a good thing to have if you want to carry your laptop around in a non-laptop bag or just carry with you to places. This sleeve fits my ThinkPad X120e perfectly that really protects the laptop as stated. At the front there is a small zipper pouch that is useful for storing very thin items like a USB flash drive. The zipper on the front pouch did break and not working, but I really got this sleeve for the laptop. I still use it from time to time when I am not using the laptop messenger bag for work. The zipper on the sleeve is just fine and is better constructed.

Just to clarify the pouch sleeve zipper went off the track.that is not as sturdy as the actual zipper for the laptop.

Update 1/20/2012:

I am lowering my actual score to 3 out of 5 (marked 4 out of 5 because of the explanations for 2 or 3 low ratings from other people see my original review below), because I have confirmed what I believe another review said, that when device is below 20% (red light status), it will not start charging any devices! This frustrating and should not be an issue.

ORIGINAL REVIEW:

Actual rating: 4 out of 5 (I put 5 out of 5 because I believe others rated this badly because of the quirks -see below).

Quirk And yes, some details are in the manual: The button on the side basically triggers the device to be in 1 of 3 states.

0) By default, the device is off.

1) Taping the button (or not holding down long enough) causes the lights to flash to tell you the charge level -blue: 60%-100%; purple: 20%-60%; red: 0-20%... Then the lights will turn of and it will be in off-mode.

2) Holding down the button for 2+ seconds will cause the device to turn on. The lights will stay on and are a solid color when the device is turned on. While the device is on, holding down the button for about 5 seconds will turn it off.

One reviewer previously stated that his device did not charge and gave it 2 stars. Mine wasn't either until I learned I had to actually turn on the device.

Another reviewer gave the device 1 out of 5 stars because: "When I went to use it the day after, the lights just flashed for a few seconds and then the unit turned off." Sounds oddly like the triggering of state #1 listed above.

Another reviewer gave 1 out of 5 stars because: "I was looking forward to using this charger, but it did not live up to its description. I don't know if my unit is defective or not, but the indicator lights are on all the time and that drains the battery's charge." This makes me wonder if this person did not know you have to hold down the button for 5 seconds to turn off the device.

My use:

* Charged iPhone 4S (confirmed to 100%).

* Charged Galaxy S II (only confirmed from 10% to 35% charge; stopped after that; was done while charging iPhone 4S).

* Charge iPad 1 (While writing the last 25% of this review, its been charging. It's gone up from 55% to 59% and is still charging).

* Charged this device with my Samsonite Solar Powered Laptop Backpack. I bought this battery pack because it was cheap and I didn't want to destroy an expensive battery while I figured out how well the backpack works. Surprisingly, it's doing a fine job of charging this battery pack.

Usage tips:

* I am not sure if the device can be charged while charging another device. Maybe better to charge it while it's off? (Comment on my review if you know more, and I'll update this).

* Make sure you only charge one tablet sized device at a time.

* Make sure it's turned one when you want to charge your device. And turned off when you aren't using it.

Product design improvement advice from a Cognitive Science Major:

* Single button having more than one function without documentation next to the button on the device. Bad idea. I originally assumed that the device was always on and the button was just a battery level indicator trigger. I seriously thought I had a dud like some other reviewers. Then I read the manual and saw the part about "turning it on". I am sure people sent the device back because of this problem.

* Blue & Purple lights are too similar. Try a different set of colors... and make sure you take into account color blindness when deciding on new colors.

I travel for my living. Having a back up battery that juices my iPhone (which does not last even 12 hours the way I use it lots of calls, Bluetooth and Wifi) is a life saver. I tried a number of different models in the market, including some that I bought here on Amazon for $69.99, and this one is by far the best. Here are my list of pro and cons:

Pros:

while it does not seem like it has 5000mah capacity (claimed), it has by far the most capacity for its size.

Very light and easy to use

USB charger plug allows me to use my iPhone charger to charge this device

Two simultaneous USB charging ports

Cons:

Like all others in the market, if both ports are used, each port only has 1 Amp current. Meaning, while both ports are in use your iPad can only charge in its standby (screen shut off) mode. Would have been great if both ports could produce 2.1 Amps simultaneously, not combined.

The charging does not start if TwinPort has less than about 30% remaining charge. However, if you start the charging at above this level it will pass all of its charge to the device being charged.

A more granular capacity indicator would be good. It can only indicate one of three levels which is often not that useful.

I connected the fully charged battery pack to my phone as it was at 23% battery live. without using the phone it took a little over 5 hours to charge it to 100%. the battery log (Android Battery Widget v1.7 by PARK JINWOO) shows a constant charging rate over all the time. phones battery has 2500 mAh capacity. while the battery packs loading level indicator showed the first 3h blue light (more than 60%) it turned within the fourth hour into red (less than 20%). I had no chance to see the purple for the range 60% to 20%, as I was not checking inbetween this hour. the fact that it stayed in the upper 40% range for 3h and then passed the following 40% within a hour, seems to be a not very reliable level indicator.

a second fact that points more into the direction that the battery pack has only 2500-3000mAh capacity, is the little user guide itself. it says that the pack needs about 5 hours to get fully charged. the ac/dc-adapter that comes with the pack is specified with 500mA output. how you charge a 5000mAh battery with 500mA in 5 hours when all equipment is using 5V ?

the second point is the loading current. product description states that the pack can output 2.1A using both outlets, what means that a single outlet provides ~1A. that it took 5 hours to load my 2500mAh phone battery shows that the port only provided ~500mA. this seems to be reasonable as the AC-adapter that came with the phone is specified to have 1A output and needs around 2 hours to fully charge the battery.

I could not test the loading current when using both outlets, because the USB-to-microUSB adapter I bought (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005FUNYSA/ref=oh_o00_s00_i00_details) to use my 2-to-1 USB-Y-cable, is not working for charging applications.

I decided for a battery pack instead to simply by a second phone battery, to

avoid frequent opening and closing of the phones cover

to have the option to refresh the battery

to re-charge other devices on a trip (like mp3-player or camera)

but with getting barely one complete phone re-charge out of the pack and that it take 5h, a pre-charged spare battery, much smaller in size, looks like the better choice.

I would not buy again nor recommend it to a friend, because it meets only half of it's advertised specifications.

beside this, the pack is well manufactured (not looking cheap or being flimsy) and the dual AC/car-adapter is nice.

it needs a little bit to get used to the function of the power button, and it is misleading explained. (to turn on the battery pack, press and hold the button. when the status LEDs turn on, release the button immedeiately ... as the pack will shut-off again the next second if you keep pressing it, what then looks like the check-functionality).

that there are two LEDs has no special meaning one would be enought as power level indicator. and that they stay on all the time when charging is senseless to in my opinon.

I love this charger. I take it with me everywhere in my purse. I recently went on a road trip and was able to charge my phone and my husband's phone at the same time. Also, it has a battery so while we were out site seeing I was able to provide power to my cell phone when it was almost dead.

This has come in quite handy as I hate having a dead cell phone! I would recommend this charger.

Manhattan 200 mm Notebook Computer Cooling Pad (703406)

Manhattan 200 mm Notebook Computer Cooling PadI have purchased a few fans and found that they worked, but didn't work well I need a lot of air for my computer do to media and many tasks running at same time. This fan is by far the best one I have found for the price. It has one LARGE fan that blows on the entire computer instead of little fans that produce little to no air. And it does not make any noise the little fans make more noise and the lights are annoying if they have them. I couldn't really care about style as I am a functional person, but this actually serves both of the purposes.

With other fans I still had abrupt shut downs and had to constantly feel bottom of laptop to ensure I wouldn't lose data to a shutdown. I have had for a couple months now and not once has my computer shutdown or gotten really hot. I would recommend this fan to all laptop users that had shutdowns due to excessive heat and STAY AWAY from the little fans (even if they have 3 4). The large fan is the only way to go.

Another note I am very hard on my equipment and use my laptop for 10 12 hours each day. Moving around, banging, dropping things, adding devices, programs, trying products, etc. This fan has held up to all my torture, so if you purchase you shouldn't be disappointed.

Purchased this product to use with my Macbook. From the first time it was used I had problems with this item. First the fan would not start. Then when it started it was very noisy, plus it has the hard plastic legs that would dig into your lap when putting this on your lap with computer. After a couple of weeks I disposed of this item. Not the most effective cooling pad.

I purchased this to test on two devices with the intention of buying a second if it works as hoped.

First I tested this under an Acer Aspire Quad Core 7551-7422 laptop. It has some over heating issues when the side vents are not at the edge of a table and occasionally shuts off due to heat build up when using graphically intensive programs. I placed underneath it this cooling pad and plugged it into a USB port. The fan was quieter than the internal fan of the laptop, and after a day of use the bottom of the laptop was still cool to the touch. Although I was initially concerned that the laptop was wider than the cooling pad, it turns out that having the laptop wider was an advantage as the laptop's own vents were raised up allowing for maximum airflow. As an added bonus, the USB cable had an adapter on top to plug another USB cable into it just in case I needed it, but I didn't so can't say how well this feature works with hard drives and such.

I then tested this under my Playstation 3 console. A Fat 1st generation Playstation 3. Although mine has cooling mods applied already, heat is still a potential problem. I had someone else place this under the console while I picked it up (since the console is 14 pounds) and decided to plug the fan into a USB to power adapter. I couldn't hear the cooling fan at all compared to the fan of the console, so at first I wasn't sure if it was working but it was! I was concerned at first because there isn't much of a gap between the table and the buttom of the pad in the front, but after a day of use the bottom of the console was still cool. When the console is turned off the fan continues to run because I had it plugged into a power outlet, and the sound of the fan is still so quiet you barely notice it.

My poor laptop overheated again without the cooling pad under it (while testing it with the Playstation 3) so I fully intend to purchase a second one for me, and will likely buy a third as a gift.

I bought this to set my Mac Mini 2010 on. The CPU had been topping 160F and froze the Mac with a fault a few times. Now the CPU seems to stay between 145F and the low 150Fs. So far, no more shutdowns. The fan is quiet, and large, though slow. It does come with a handy but optional USB pass-through plug so it doesn't actually reduce the number of USB Ports. It has a low angle. so the Mac doesn't want to slide off (though it does have 3M Sorbothane Hemisphere Rubber Bumper Non-skid Feet that raise it up and prevent slipping).

The negatives are that it's mostly very thin and fragile looking plastic, and the feet won't stay on since there is barely any plastic for them to stick to on the hollow round legs.

It is about an inch tall, so if you're using it with a laptop you won't be able to rest your wrists on the desk and type.

For my needs, I am very happy with this fan.

Want Manhattan 200 mm Notebook Computer Cooling Pad (703406) Discount?

Overall this is the best fan I have found. I use it under stereo equipment to keep it cool. This fan moves way more air than any other fan I have tried, yet it is very quiet. Two things to note though. First it is not level (the front legs are shorter than the back), so I have to place something under the front legs so that my stereo equipment remains level. This wouldn't be a problem for laptop users. Second, it has four rubber pads on the top and four more attached to the legs on the bottom. The legs have very little surface area where the pads attach and the pads don't stick well. Two had come off if the box when the fan arrived. This is not a problem for me, but I think it would be a problem for some laptop users; if you are not using this on a desk or table and always leaving it in the same place, the pads will probably get lost. The legs would also be very uncomfortable (even with the pads) if you actually tried to work with the laptop on your lap while using this.
