This product definitely protects the laptop and is well padded, but it is by NO means a laptop "sleeve". It is not very snug in there and there is plenty more room on the exterior of the laptop, making it not ideal to use this within another case or backpack (which is what I bought it for).
I rated it poorly because in addition to it definitely not being a sleeve, it is not custom for the Y580 or Y570 even, only 16ish inch laptops in general.
I was an extremely big disappointment when finally getting it.

Having something attached to it for carrying would be perfect though. Anyway its really good and keeps the computer unpressured if in baggage.
