Dell M109s On-the-go DLP Projector - 50 ANSI lumens - SVGA (858 x 600) - Aspect Ratio: 4:3 - Contra

Dell M109s On-the-go DLP Projector - 50 ANSI lumens - SVGA - Aspect Ratio: 4:3 - Contrast Ratio 800:1 - Pocket-sizedI got mine for 299 from Dell web site. That's still a hefty price wait 5 years and you will find better ones for 99. I am an artist and I work by projecting color slides on my paper or canvas. I have needed to go digital for a long time, but the standard laptop projectors are big, heavy, noisy, expensive, and too bright. The new little ones either don't connect to a laptop or get terrible reviews. This one is just right. It's also fun to project movies on the bedroom wall, but remember, the brightness is 50 lumens, and your standard video projector is about 2,000, so you want total darkness and it's still not the same. The projector is tiny, light and quiet, and has a lot of nifty sophisticated electronics, BUT THERE'S NO TRIPOD SCREW SOCKET!!!, the cables and connectors are bulky and awkward, the cord to the laptop is only 2' long (get an extension) but it's the best one on the market so far.

I bought this projector to use for work. I was looking for something that would work for a conference room style presentation in the office that was still small and lightweight for travel. While the projector is very small and compact (it even comes with its own case!), it is just not going to work for me. The light is not bright enough and the projection resolution is not clear enough to show anything with numbers on it. So if your presentation is mostly PowerPoints in large type, this projector will work for you!

I really like this projector. I am a teacher and this has been really helpful in my classroom. It is very small and compact which is great since I need to set it up every day. It has a quality picture and the screen size is adequate. The only things I don't like about it is that it does not have a keystone for adjusting the screen up or down so that has to be done manually. Further, for it to be used properly, the classroom must be dark which makes teaching from the textbook a little interesting. Overall though, this is a great product and I would recommend it to any teacher or business professional that makes presentations to small groups.
