Apple may be the #1 product innovator, but when it come to parts, accessories or repairs, don't expect much. The last time I checked, a simple battery replacement required the return of the iPod to Apple. As I understand it, they provide a refurbished unit in exchange for your unit and a bill for somewhere around $100+ ... Policy changes may alter the above, I don't know.The Battery Adaptor PRO for Apple iPod (not supplied by Apple -"boxwave corporation" supplies this item) is an inexpensive answer to the problem ... It uses four AA batteries (I use rechargeables for greater economy) and powers my iPod classic (80GB) perfectly. The "fit and finish" are superb -great industrial engineering. Cons? Well, it "is" another item to put into your pocket, but it's well worth it.
