Good signal, easy connection. Works great with MAGNETIC Mobile ANTENNA Ham Radio 2 Meter / 70 cm 144 148 & 440 470 MHz to give me great signal from my car with my Baofeng UV-5R handheld. Just bought my 2nd one.

I used to do prototypes and custom assemblies for NASA, and I've worked with SMA connectors; they're generally considered among the "tenderest" of the commercially-used r.f. joins. The female PL-259 (or SO-239, as it's more commonly called) on this cable is an attractive, symmetric assembly, but the gold-plated SMA female on the other end is an absolute joy to behold the center conductor and its dielectric shroud are optimally seated in the shell, and the crimp of the shell to the RG58-U is textbook-perfect. I was quite pleased to see that MPD Digital furnished the SMA connector with both internal-tooth and split-ring lockwashers; for a connection that's intended to be permanent the split-ring works best, for one that's used to tie a handheld to a vehicular or base station antenna, I prefer the internal-tooth because it holds better after repeated attachments and detachments. I was also taken by the included tightening instructions, probably necessary because of the fragile nature of the SMA female; if you break this connector, it's simply because you haven't read the instructions. I almost hate to do something as pedestrian as install it in my car, but that's what it's designed for; I'll treat it gently and respectfully, though, and I suspect it'll keep me company for a long, long time.

This adapter works great to connect my handheld to my mobile ham radio 2m/440 antenna. The antenna was given to me and it had the standard so-239/ pl259 connectors with a 13 foot lenth, The Wouxun has a SMA jack, the short connector allowed me to use the antenna. Recommended if you have an antenna w/o an SMA connector and dont want to buy a whole new antenna
