no where here in the ad does it mention that fact. contacted copusa but they had shipped and i was told to just refuse the ups shipment when it came, which i did, so they are returning to shipper.

meanwhile i ordered pandigital scanner which works like a dream and which i can install on a billion computers if i choose.
\I bought this recently in attempt to go mostly paperless and have just scanned well over 100 documents. It's simplicity and ease of use is exceptional. The software does a fair job of managing documents but could be more flexible.
Cons:
* Expect problems with full page documents with very narrow margins. Sometimes you need to scan the page backwards in order to favor the other margin.
* The document must absolutely be flat. The rollers are not strong enough to feed paper that is slightly crumpled or creased. It may feed the paper, but can possibly bother the scanning proccess giving you streaks or waves.
Pros:
* Multi-page scanning is simple
* PDF conversion is very nice and is fairly fast
* Scanning is fairly quick
* Comes with a nice case, use it to keep it free of dust!
Pending it's lifetime, I think this product is pretty decent for the price. It has definitely been nice to get rid of a majority of paper in my home office.

I wanted a simple scanner to work with Adobe Acrobat on my laptop computer. This unit fits into my "portable office case", and does a clean job of scanning documents for me. Most of my work involves scanning contracts, and at 400 dpi I get a very clean copy for my files.I have experienced no difficulty with setup or use.

I bought this a year ago as a solution to my need to scan documents in an office the size of a phone booth. I hung it upside down under a shelf, dumped the supplied software and used Windows document scanner software and it works very well. The only trouble I have had is that the paper needs to be hand guided into the scanner else it tends to pull it in crookedly. I haven't complained as I doubt it was designed to work upside down! I am scanning legal size documents with the OCR facility.Want Searchable PDF scanner -WorldocScan 400 Discount?
I purchased this in July 2010. Be sure to go to the manuacturer's website and download the latest software for proper scans of 8x11, etc.It does exactly what it claims to do, taking excellent scans, for its price point.
My biggest complaint is the conversion to PDF. Regardless of my setting to scan 8x11 it would still convert it to A4 (8.3x11.7). When Adobe would print out the file it would then scale it down to fit on 8x11. I am very disappointed in this. I spent some hours researching this or trying to find a customer care/support number to no avail.
Sadly, this scanner is being returned today.
