Vivitek Qumi Q5 500 Lumen WXGA HD 720p HDMI 3D-Ready Pocket DLP Projector with 4GB Memory (White)

Vivitek Qumi Q5 500 Lumen WXGA HD 720p HDMI 3D-Ready Pocket DLP Projector with 4GB MemoryInstalled the Qumi Q5 using a panamorph UH480 lens and 133" curved scope screen

and the picture all I need in a high def picture. Sure you could get a little more

refinement or black level but for 650.00 this projector is a steal.

I use Windows 8 with the shark codecs and the picture has a lot of depth, sharpness,

and 3d effect. The digital zoom is a nice feature and the noise is not bad from 3 ft away.

All in all a great little machine for hometheater on a budget!

Update the picture has continued to get better and after 950 hours will rival

projectors costing 3 to 5 time more. Here is a link for pictures and more discussion at AVS forum.

Added Nvidia vision 2 3d 720p 120hz with the VGA mod and 5360 .inf file and works extremley well! I have the Hulk sitting in my lap from 9 feet away what is not to like. Looks better than the Acer 5360 in 3D enough said.

Focus issue is non existent mount the projector from the ceiling and used no keystone adjustment. Focus

was fixed.

Q5 is like a fine wine gets better with age.

I just got the Q5 projector to work with my Dell laptop when I heard a "snap" noise from the projector, and it turned off. Seems dead as a doornail now. Haven't been able to get it to power up. I am guessing that the power adapter failed, and/or a circuit breaker in the projector itself did its job and committed suicide rather than cause a fire.

Too bad, I really liked this little travel projector.

Color is very good, didn't notice the problems with color that I saw years ago with our first DLP portable projector (yellow couldn't work, etc).

bright enough

you hear some fan noise, but nothing like the standard tabletop projector

ability to show PowerPoint presentations right off the projector without a laptop is fantastic, the projector itself is the backup for your laptop breaking

so small I could chuck it in my laptop bag without noticing, and it came with a good pouch

Other issue this projector might have is auto-detecting a VGA connection through the universal adapter (that it comes with). I was able to get it to recognize my laptop using the supplied remote by hitting the Source button. Probably not a significant issue if you always have the remote or set the preference to always assume VGA connection.

Meanwhile I think I am going to return it. I am using this for business, and it doesn't have to be pretty but it does have to work.

Update I returned this for Replacement by Amazon. Hoping to be 2nd time lucky. Something seems odd with that process, because that was a week ago, and Amazon still hasn't shipped the replacement. I guess I should have Returned it for credit and then bought another one in the meantime. Now I have lost at least a week, not a good thing. Live and learn.

Buy Vivitek Qumi Q5 500 Lumen WXGA HD 720p HDMI 3D-Ready Pocket DLP Projector with 4GB Memory (White) Now

Good Afternoon,

I bought a projector Qumi Q5 few months ago and used it 3 or 4 times.

Today I went to use the projector for a business presentation and noticed some black spots in the projected image.

Then these small black spots began to multiply the screen and soon were taking the whole image. I realized I totally lost the brightness of the image ...

What do happened to my projector? How do I manage to get my projector repaired?

I live in Brazil and bought in the United States ...

Should I send it where? How soon will have the projector running?

Thanks in advance!

So, first of all... I was impressed when I got it. It is really light and small. I was worried about all the reviews that said it was loud and about the brightness. For multimedia is great, the problem is watching movies, and only in really clear conditions. At night, in home, it's really great. And the fan is not that loud. My 2010 Macbook Pro is much worse.

However, it just stopped working after a few days, and I wasn't even using it that much. I am getting a system fan error. Apparently, it's not communicating with the projector.

So I'm still thinking about what I should do. Maybe I'll just get a refund and buy another brand.

Delkin All-In-One Universal Card Reader Compatible with SDXC, UDMA and SDHC DDREADER-41

Delkin All-In-One Universal Card Reader Compatible with SDXC, UDMA and SDHC DDREADER-41I needed this reader for SanDisk SDXC 64GB which i use in my Canon T2i camera.

Unfortunately, with USB cable from camera to my WinXP system i can't read videos over 500 MB, so i decided to buy this reader.

When i tried to use it on my WinXP it didn't work!!! But in some site i read about some SDXC readers worked on Win7, so my last chance was to try it on Win7 System.

So then i went to a Win7 laptop, connected it, Win7 recognized it, and then voilá! =D

I could access to my SDXC through Win7 =D

So i decided to figure out what happened in WinXP, if there's a SDXC driver or something for let it work in WinXP.

I searched and searched, and found a site which explain this problem , which talks about SDXC Memory Cards for PCs, and the exFAT file system used for SDXC

The site asked to download exFAT file system update (KB955704) available from the Microsoft Download CenterAnd then i tried on my WinXP, and it worked.

Hope this helps somebody there! ;)

Greetings from Mexico.

I have used a Delkin FireWire CF Card reader for about eight years now and it still works exactly as it did the first day I used it. Unfortunately it doesn't read the SDHC cards for my new digital camera so I had to purchase a new card reader. I went to Delkin's site and found this then searched for it on Amazon. This comes with a five-year warranty and it works great with my Intel Mac OS 10.6. Even though it's a USB device the data transfer rates are excellent. It also reads the old CF cards from my old digital camera. Both cameras are from Canon.

Buy Delkin All-In-One Universal Card Reader Compatible with SDXC, UDMA and SDHC DDREADER-41 Now

I originally ordered this for my laptop since my desktop had a multi-card reader built-in. But when I found my Canon EOS 7D time out when transferring 32GB of data I decided to test it out and it's much faster than the camera or my built-in reader. Also it has a micro SD card slot so I can read the memory cards that are in the Zoom H1 audio recorder or my wife's camera without using the full size SD adapter. It's also smaller than it looks like in the product photo (since the predominate feature shown is the micro SD slot which is really small). It's roughly the size of a smart phone (same width as an iPhone, almost an inch shorter, and a smidgen thicker). So now I use it all the time on my desktop and unplug it when I need it for travel... Maybe I'll have to buy an extra one.

PROS:

+ Really Fast

+ Small

+ Lots of card types including sub types like micro SD

CONS:

No Read/Write activity lights

micro SD (or any other) port isn't spring loaded so pulling it out can be mildly difficult.

This did exactly what I needed. It read the Sandisk Extreme Pro 45MB/sec SDHC card into Windows XP SP3 with no additional drivers required. The card was formatted and written by a panasonic TM900 camera. Problem solved, plus it handles the SDXC format chips, which is the other format that the tm900 camera supports. The SDXC chips are relatively expensive now for anything class 10 and above, but that is the only path for larger than 32GB SD cards for this camera, so eventually the SDXC card reader will be good to have. The card reader also worked in Win7-64.

It is pretty light-weight plastic, so I'll worry some about the durability, but for now this looks good.

Want Delkin All-In-One Universal Card Reader Compatible with SDXC, UDMA and SDHC DDREADER-41 Discount?

I have a Mac Pro Early '08 and the only way to read the newer SDHC and SDXC cards has been to drag out a USB cable and attach to the camera for downloading. I have a Canon T2i and a Panasonic Lumix LX-5 that I use for a mix of video and RAW photos (mostly underwater) so there is a lot of data on these cards after a day of photography. I have had the Delkin for about 4 months so far and it has performed very well. Although it is USB 2.0, it writes from the cards fairly quickly and has had no issues.

Two notes for what it is worth... It would be nice if it had a status/read light on the reader. The USB cable that comes with the unit is very short so you may want to look to a longer one if your computer is a tower on the floor and you want this to sit on your desk.

rooCASE Tablet Carrying Bag for HP TouchPad 9.7-Inch Tablet - Deluxe Series Black

rooCASE Tablet Carrying Bag for HP TouchPad 9.7-Inch Tablet - Deluxe Series BlackI wanted this for my Nexus 7. Being for a larger tablet I felt I would have some extra room for additional items. (USB sticks, pens, planner etc)

Construction is solid. Zippers are of a quality build. The Shoulder strap in comfortable with solid straps and buckles.

Only negative is it might look like a man purse from a casual glance, but clearly looking at it does show it to be a smaller laptop style tote.

Love it1

This bag is excellent. It's robust, protects your Tablet well and is compact and lightweight. It can be carried by hand but it also comes with a shoulder strap. I would recommend this to anyone.

rooCASE Dual-View Multi Angle (Red) Leather Folio Case Cover for Asus Eee Pad Transformer PRIME 10.

rooCASE Dual-View Multi Angle Leather Folio Case Cover for Asus Eee Pad Transformer PRIME 10.1-Inch TF201 TabletI just received this today. The case is very nice and well made. The cover is nice and stiff to protect the screen. My Transformer Prime fits perfectly into the sleeve and all ports/buttons are easily available. In fact, the sleeve helps protect the microSD card from being accidentally ejected. The case has a nice feel and doesn't add a lot of weight. When being used with just the sleeve, the soft back makes the Prime easy to hold. The different angles all are stable when using the stand feature. When the cover is closed, the charging port is covered but you can still charge with the cover closed by turning the sleeve around within the case.

All-in-all, a very nice cover for a very nice tablet.

I purchased both this case and the "MoKo Slim-Fit Case" for my transformer prime. Unfortunately neither case is perfect for my needs, but as normal both have pros and cons. Please see my review for the MoKo case on its item page on Amazon.

roocase:

First off, this case smells strange. It's not a good smell, but its not unbearable either, It's tough to describe really and its definitely worth noting (It's not a normal leather smell). The leather is shiny and and the build quality is very good. The case itself is 2 parts, a sort of sleeve in which the transformer slides into and a folio for the sleeve/transformer to slide into. You can't use the folio on its on as the Prime would fall out of it. The sleeve is snug and does a good job of protecting the Prime on the front screen and backside but a poor job of protecting the corners and sides of the device. I would not feel confident if I should accidently drop the Prime on a hard surface that it would come out unscathed.

The folio holds the case inside it by using a broad strip of Velcro. This works well but I would be concerned that over time the Velcro would wear out and the case need to be replaced. It is very slightly magnetic to keep it closed on the Prime. A good thing about the 2 piece design is that it is highly flexible and adjustable. As the pictures on Amazon show, it can be placed in portrait and landscape mode and held up by the ridges in the folio. All ports and camera holes and buttons are accessible but the power and volume buttons are more difficult to get to than they would be normally. The sleeve and folio together add a great deal of thickness to the Prime. I would say that it makes everything about 3x thicker than just the Prime by itself.

Pros:

+Very good build quality with leather/stitching/camera cut outs

+Flexibility to use case in portrait or landscape

+Looks great

+Snug fit

Cons:

-Smell

-Poor protection of corners/sides

-Obstruction of buttons' ease of use

-Velcro could wear out

-Too much bulk

-Folio can't be used on its own

I don't have much to add to the other review here. It seems very well built and the holes line up perfectly for the ports, flash, camera and so on. I really like the fact that the inside case can be separated which keeps the bulk down but allows you the option to use the full case when more protection is wanted. The one negative is when using the cover, it doesn't have a natural crease to allow the front cover to fold underneath the Prime in a flush manner. Not a big deal but it would have been a nice touch.

It was just a little bit too short (1 mm) but I just left the exposed area on the bottom of the screen since that menu bar has only two shortcut buttons as opposed to multiple buttons on the top menu bar. I actually now prefer the responsiveness of the screen with the protector on than without it.

HHI Crystal Clear Snap On Shield Hard Case For Amazon Kindle Fire Tablet - Clear (Package include a

HHI Crystal Clear Snap On Shield Hard Case For Amazon Kindle Fire Tablet - ClearI wanted a plain, clear case for my Kindle Fire, and I got it.

It snaps on the the back and sides of my device, but keeps the top/bottoms exposed so you have access to the speakers/power button and charging port. It's easy to put on and take off without damaging or scratching the sides.

It doesn't add too much bulk to the device.

**I wanted a clear case so I could customize my Kindle a little by adding fancy paper or pictures on the back of my device. I'm able to do just that by putting an appropriately sized sheet of scrapbook paper between the back of the Kindle and the clear case. INSTANT CUTE!

This protective cover is just what I was looking for and the price was great. It fits perfectly and the case does not interfere with the use of my Kindle Fire. It came with a nice little stylus which works great for me as I seem to have fat fingers. However, the one drawback is that there is nowhere to store it in the case except plugged into the headphone port. It dangles from there and snags on everything. If I take it off then I can never find it. I am going to try to create some kind of pocket for it on the cover.

I wanted a simple protective case that wouldn't alter the way the Kindle Fire is supposed to be handled yet kept the appearance looking good. This is a perfect example of doing something simple just right.

The clear plastic is perfectly formed to fit the Kindle exactly. It snaps on and just keeps everything except the screen under cover. The wake/power button is easily accessible and the speakers are kept free.

Great, simple and exactly what I was looking for.

Great value on amazon on something simple. But something great.

I took off my leather cover and used this case which seems to reduce (slightly) the bulk.

I think my leather cover would protect the backing on the Kindle, but IMHO the rubber backing was created to be used, and it is a great non-slick surface.

Couple of notes, though:

* This is a smooth plastic case where if you are in a vehicle with a cloth surface (such as a seat or on your lap), any turns or sudden stops can send the device moving--but, flip it over and use the Fire's rubbery backing and you have no problems.

* The plastic is easily scratch, and after a few weeks I already have tons of hairline scratches. If it gets bad, though, this case is rather inexpensive that I can simply get another one.

* You will need your fingernails at times to remove the case from the corners--it can be a tight snap. After about 2-3 weeks of using this, is it getting better, but if it is still this tight, I may try to get a way to find a solution (maybe take a few seconds with a hair dryer or file a little bit of 1 the corners).

* Wished it had a kick stand, though. But, I can probably tape a card-paper kick stand, or make one out of simple plastic and glue it on.

Despite of my notes, I think this is a great case. Now, I wish I can find it for my Kindle Touch soon.

SanDisk 4GB Gaming Memory Stick PRO Duo

SanDisk 4GB Gaming Memory Stick PRO DuoAt 4GB, you can burn 11 movies (avg length of 90 min) on this sucker! I bought this when it first came out for $100. FYI how it's done: Take a non coded VHS movie (or home video), record it to DVD-R. Make sure it's a Sony or Memorex DVD-R. Warning: Some other brand DVD-R (e.g., Pengo, etc) are not compatible. Get the Sony PSP software for your computer, then download your home DVD onto it. You'll save a ton of money versus buying a bunch of factory made UMD's (with a restriction on title selection at that). Resolution is at the least as decent as a UMD as well, even at low AVC.

This is perfect for the PSP my son got for Christmas. Has tons of memory now and the savings were tremendous.

Vivitek Qumi Q2-LITE B 300 Lumen WXGA HDMI 3D-Ready HD 720p Pocket DLP Projector (Black)

Vivitek Qumi Q2-LITE B 300 Lumen WXGA HDMI 3D-Ready HD 720p Pocket DLP ProjectorThis is better than I thought. However, it is lack of Mini-HDMI converter cable. So I have to buy it after purchasing.

I wish I had been able to find a decent explanation as to the differences between the lite and normal versions.

The lite does not have an SD slot and will not play from USB. In effect, the normal version seems to have an in built player and file finder, whereas the lite requires a device or computer that has the player already as an input to project.

Not confirmed, but it also seems that you cannot adjust the brightness manually on the lite. Only preset configs can be used.

Just received this baby named Vivitek Qumi Q2 Lite (white) after so much toil. I missed a card payment and then my order couldn't be delivered because amazon found out after the order had been placed that the projector 'used like new' was no longer available. So I had to order a new one and when i received it I was surprised to see the smallish packaging and even more surprised to see how small this little giant actually is. funny thing is i couldn't find the time to operate it. Wait for my review till i switch this thing on.

**** Update ****Vivitek Qumi Q2 Lite is an upgrade from my previous amazon purchase three years back of a Viewsonic PJ557D. Although there is stark contrast when i compare the lumens of both projectors, (my viewsonic being able to deliver 2300 lumens whereas Q2 Lite only has capability of upto 300 lumens). Before i proceed i would also like to add that i do not currently own a projector screen so image was projected on the off-white wall of my basement. I watched some HD videos and I must say please don't be misled by the size, this thing sure does pack a punch! Specs state that 90" image size is what it can best portray but with an image size of upto 140" on 16:9 aspect ratio, i watched bits of the Avengers, Lincoln and Sky Fall and a few songs in HD, and was hugely impressed! As you decrease the image size to around 80-100", there definitely is noticeable difference in sharpness and detail but if you're viewing from a distance of around 15-16 feet, 140" is still very impressive, i must add though, that i did change the projector settings for 140" size otherwise you may find image a little dull.

There were three unpleasant surprises for me though, 1. i didn't receive the carrying pouch as mentioned on the website.

2. When i connected my laptop, i noticed that focus is not uniform across the screen as also complained by many other users, if you manually adjust to near-perfect focus at the centre of the screen, you'll notice that text along the sides gets a little blurred, and vice versa. So i wouldn't be very happy if someone buys it for the sake of presentations which use a lot of text and the focus issue would keep haunting, it would annoy some of the users who are really particular about every penny they spend, still i wouldn't say uniformity of focus is a big issue as it was hardly noticeable when i was watching videos.

You may have to check back on focus settings a few minutes after turning the projector on, i guess the heat causes it to lose focus but i'm just trying to help you make an educated decision before you buy it, i'm not at all trying to turn you against it, as i love my purchase.

3. Instead of manual focus, there could have been a focus setting in the menu so that you could really know what the sharpest image setting is, doing manually may leave you wondering whether you hit the best focus setting or not.

All in all, its a great buy, the lamp life of upto 30,000 (as specs say) is way better than other projectors in the market. I'm sure the projector will outlive the technology so i expect to replace it because of technology redundancy rather than due to repair needs etc.

Great value for money indeed.

I have only had the product for one day, but my first impressions are that this is a well made quality product. The build quality is excellent, perhaps not quite Apple's "object of desire" quality, but certainly a cut above most consumer products out there. It is small, light and of course the image is crisp. I also found it to be very quiet, but perhaps when its been running a long time the fan runs faster, don't know that yet.

The main reason for writing this review is to share some information that I needed, couldn't get and ended up having to take a chance on. So here goes...

I use monitors (and now projectors) in a portrait orientation for software development, it makes me much more productive to see the more code in one shot. I had tried another portable projector and it wasn't able to cope with screen rotation (which can be found in the display settings of most computers these days). I have tested the Qumi on a fairly new Windows 8 machine and my macbook air and it worked great. At 1080p the lines of code are clear, but at 1080i the characters became less legible.

The lite version does not come with the required HDMI cable so you will need to get an HDMI to mini-HDMI cable if you don't already have one. It also doesn't come with a case or any way to protect the lens. I have improvised a case using part of the packaging and an old CD case, but the lack of these basic accessories is the reason for the 4 stars not 5 stars.

One other note. When I first looked at the underside of the device I was devastated to find a plastic tab in place of the tripod mount-point. I thought perhaps the lite version did not have this feature which would have been a major problem for me, especially since the unit is so light and easily gets moved around by moving cords. But guess what, you just have to remove the tab. I was hesitant because it seemed like I might be damaging the unit trying to get it off, but with a little finagling it popped off and voila, panic over.

I heartily recommend this unit based on initial impressions.

I bought one for my kindle fire and I have to say they really work well. No smudges, no finger prints just air bubbles. Which can be fixed by skillful popping/smoothing them out with the resonated tool which I believe is called a squeege or something along those lines. While it does do an amazing job at protecting your screen is does dull sensitivity which is a trade-off,protection over prescision. Also the videos aren't as crisp and vibrant with the protector. With that being said, pick it up if you need protection.

On a sidenote, don't get any dust or hair or anything underneath the screen. It will make air bubbles and ruin your protector. Just messed mine up but it was my own User error.

The product is alright as far as quality is concerned but doesn't fit my phone. It is because of the piece of plastic sticking out from the side of the case (which is there to keep the phone in place). It probably is a manufacturing defect but nevertheless makes the case useless for me.

The case fits perfectly with the Nokia N900 and great quality. The phone does come out rather easily (my phone fell to ground, luckily it didn't cause any permanent damage) if you're not careful. I think this is one of the better phone cases there is out there and I'm definitely happy with the purchase. One thing is the clip tends to unscrew after a while, so be mindful about it and tighten it every once in a while. I've had mine unscrew at lest a handful of times since buying it. The shipments took a while so if you're in a rush, this might not be the vendor for you. If you don't mind the wait, it's worth it. Overall a great case.

Want PDair Leather Case for Nokia N900 - Book Type (Black) Discount?

My Lumia didn't fit in it and I had to give it away. Wouldn't fit an iPhone either. Perhaps my fault for assuming something you should never do that the920 would be the same size as a 900.

rooCASE (Jet Black) Neoprene Sleeve Case for Seagate FreeAgent Go 640 GB USB 2.0 Drive ST906403FDA2

rooCASE Neoprene Sleeve Case for Seagate FreeAgent Go 640 GB USB 2.0 Drive ST906403FDA2E1-RK Ruby RedI bought this to hold my portable hard drive. It's should fit most sizes of gps and other things well, but it's personally a little loose on my hard drive, although it is still a great product. I cushions, prevents scratches, and I can throw my hard drive in my bag now without the fear of it getting ruined or messed up.

This is an amazing case. Easy on the hands if you read a lot like I do. Easy to adjust. Works very well with a Smart Cover. And it fits my ipad 3. For 20 I can't recommend it enough.

When my wife bought a 3rd generation iPad, she handed her iPad 2 down to me. Later she bought a case like this one (after buying several other ones) and it looked good, so I found this and bought it. Hers is a different brand and the corners are split so it will fit the 3rd gen iPads, but the design is the same. There are several brands of the same case, it's weird. This particular one, marked SPINPADCASE, is pretty good and fits my iPad 2 well, but it wobbles on the pivot where the thing on the back spins. Makes me think a bolt is coming loose or something. So far it's holding together, though, and it is definitely the most flexible holder/stand that we have found for the iPad.

This is my second spinpad. A person in the airport liked the way it looked and when I let him ha dole it, he bent the stand the wrong way. So needless to say, I immediately ordered another one.
