Black Optical Hand-Held USB Trackball Mouse For Laptop PC

Black Optical Hand-Held USB Trackball Mouse For Laptop PCWhat a really nice little device this is. You can hold it in your hand and use the trackball to navigate, or you can place it flat on a desk and use it like a conventional mouse. It's really basic and needs no special drivers. It has a nice long cord! The buttons are easy to click and are quiet. It has a trackball, scroll wheel and two buttons.

It's a small device, and is perfect for people with small hands. It's nicely designed: looks cute, and feels smooth and comfortable in the hand. Its precision is certainly adequate.

Using it as a trackball is totally ergonomic, and would help people who are struggling with mouse-related pain. One problem: if you hold it in your hand to use as a trackball, the light can get annoying really quick but a bit of opaque tape over the light solves that.

It's for right hand only.

I'm so happy with it that I decided to buy a couple of extra ones.

this product seemed to work fine but was very tiny did not fit in my hand as pictured. i have bigger hands than most but this is so small i think i child would have a hard time holding this mouse. other than it being small it seems to be good. so for those pf you that have tiny hands or a child in elementary school this is the mouse for you...

I like this handheld mouse quite a bit. I had to get optical because although I love the last handheld mouse I got, the trackball would get all jammed and gunked up and required cleaning basically every day. The frustration of that forced me to go optical.

With this mouse I haven't had any gunk issues and I don't think I ever will. However I gotta say, the button placement on this thing can be a bit awkward... I think the designers tried a little to hard to make it ergonomic so that they made it *too* ergonomic and now it's kind of awkward in the hand... for me that translates into quite a few accidental clicks. But all the features on this thing make it worth it. It doubles as a flat-surface mouse! and the scroll is nice and lights up.

Great value and provided better control for me for scrolling than the laptop trackpad. Very light and with a comfortable hand fit.

10 Pack Feather Stylus for All Touchscreen Devices for iPad,iPhone,Google Tablets and More!!

10 Pack Feather Stylus for All Touchscreen Devices for iPad,iPhone,Google Tablets and More!!I know cheap styluses don't last long. I bought a 5 dollar one from a local discount store and it lasted a week. THESE however are still kicking(none broke or anything yet) after almost a month with no problems whatsoever. I'm happy because I have several beautifully shiny colors and they look neat because it's a Kindle I'm using, ya know, books! Feathered pens are neat and so are these! Just take care of them. Touch devices, especially my Kindle fire, are generally sensitive enough to just tap very lightly for everything. These are perfect for that and some heavier use. As long as you take care of them they work great.

I got these within 2-3 days, which was faster than I expected for the price. They are plastic but fit rather comfortably in the hand, especially if you put the arch of the feather over your hand. I have seen these at a discount store for $5 EACH. I have been handing these out as prizes for my employees. They love them.

I just ordered these so I will update you when I actually see them. Very pretty colors and you get 10 of them ! We'll see

I'm hoping they are as nice as they look in the picture, but if not I didn't lose much, only about 7 bucks.

eForCity PU Leather Flip Pouch Skin Case Cover w/ Stand + Home Wall Charger + Car Charger Adapter C

eForCity PU Leather Flip Pouch Skin Case Cover w/ Stand + Home Wall Charger + Car Charger Adapter Compatible with Blackberry Playbook
  • Valued combo includes: 1x leather case / 2 x charger
  • Type: Aftermarket / Generic
  • Accessory Only. Device is not included.
  • Gain 30 Days Money back Guaranteed.

The Case fits the Playbook well. However, you can not use the Playbook while the supplied charger connected. Sometimes the Playbook will turn on, and sometimes not. If you can get it to turn on or turn on the Playbook first then attached the charger, the screen will start to open and close apps randomly. Crazy but true, it is as if the Playbook is possesed. If you leave it off, it will charge the tablet.

The wall charger does not work. When I plug it into my playbook, the playbook starts acting weird and jumps around between screens etc. I think it is providing too much power to the playbook. The rest of the items here work well.

Want eForCity PU Leather Flip Pouch Skin Case Cover w/ Stand + Home Wall Charger + Car Charger Adapter C Discount?

First of all, I must say that the leather case fits fine, looks neat and allows easy access to buttons, etc. and this alone should have 5 stars.

But for the Home wall charger, either it is defective or not suited to item it was advertised for. It made the BB Playbook go "crazy" -pages flip without any human intervention...

The Car Charger seems to be okay, but feels cheap.

But for the price I paid, the cover was a good deal.

I purchased this product several months ago.

I purchased the case to protect the Playbook and it seems to fit and work well, The case has a stand that holds the playbook on an angle, which is a nice feature.

Neither the plug in charger, not the car charger would charge the Playbook, however when I ordered the item, I was really only looking for the cover/case.

Targus CH071 Tri-Fold Universal PDA Case - Nylon

Targus CH071 Tri-Fold Universal PDA Case - NylonThe case is sturdy and nice looking. However, its metal clap nearly broke the screen of my Toshiba e330 several times. Use at your own risk.

I bought this PDA case by looking at price of $3.99. I have seen better than this in my local 99 cent store. I cannot keep my PDA in this case because it has no protection on sliding up or down from the case. I preferred to throw it rather than destroying my PDA by keeping in this.

Buy Targus CH071 Tri-Fold Universal PDA Case - Nylon Now

I spent about 2 weeks using this case as a wallet case combo, in order to get over first impressions.

I've tried 3 different case styles now, looking for a good wallet/case combo for my dell axim x30. This one came closer than anything else I've tried, but the credit card pockets are still cut to tight, making it difficult to get things in and out. Also, the storage is on the trifold leaves, so when you fold it closed, that area presses in on the screen. Don't fill it too tight! It's not a space saver either , because the case doesn't fit the unit closely, leaving a lot of wasted space. My Krusell case (ASIN:B0002JDCQ8) plus my wallet together are smaller than this case. The closure is secure, but awkward.

My last point is a general critique of all such cases. If you're going to add storage space, you have to add it in such a way that the items don't press on the screen when it's closed. Pretty much the only way to do that is either to have a pocket on the back exterior that expands out, or an expandable pocket on the interior of a flap that folds over the front, hinging at the top.

In summary, it's worth $1.88 to see if it's going to work for you, but only if you're carrying it in a briefcase or purse, not in your pants pocket.

I only got this case because Amazon gave it away almost for free. I figured, for less than 2 bucks, I might as well get it. It's horrible in looks and design. If it costs more than 2 bucks, don't bother.

Want Targus CH071 Tri-Fold Universal PDA Case - Nylon Discount?

At the current price, this case is a steal. Well made (Targus makes HP's cases which they sell for 90% more!!!). This one uses velcro to hold your PDA (could have a bit more grip), which makes it easy to use with different models, has storage for extra SD cards as well as credit cards, etc. The clasp holds everything in securely, if a bit tightly. For my HP ipaq 3115, it is perfect.....for any PDA that is much larger, I can't say. But for the current price, it is tough to beat! If you will be using your

PDA in outdoor settings or just want extra protection, consider an aluminum case. They cost 10 times more but will protect the PDA from more abuse. If this model doesn't please you, you are out very little, but I think it will!

Corel WordPerfect Office X6 Pro Upgrade

Corel WordPerfect Office X6 Pro UpgradeAs usual Word Perfect still provides the ability to format a document as you want not with smart unreasonable formating as provided by some other more popular Office programs.

I would recommend this software to anyone who wants to create documents the way they want them to look and not in some pre-formated style.

I had to return the product because the ad stated that it could be used to update MS Office 2007. It does not.

There was misinformation and confusion on my part about upgrade paths. Amazon listing was in error, but I think the immediately corrected problem and offered to take product back. The latter was not my preference, but, after several calls, Corel eventually solved licensing issue by making exception to their internal policies. I'm totally satisfied with all concerned and the product.

CE Compass Black Flip Leather Case Cover Stand For Blackberry Playbook

CE Compass Black Flip Leather Case Cover Stand For Blackberry PlaybookThis case is of nice quality and I love the stand. Since the Playbook can rotate either way in portrait, you can have two different viewing angles with this case. But the reason why I gave it 3 stars is because the leather frame covers the Playbook's whole screen and you can't do any swipe gestures to control the Playbook. Also, the sides of the leather isn't flush against the tablet where the cutouts are for the speaker so that annoys me quite a bit. I'm going home for the holidays tomorrow so I am going to keep it for travelling. I had to take an x-acto knife and a ruler to cut the edges off. It doesn't look nice anymore. I am going to purchase a different one after I come back.

Works great. Only issue is you need to open the case to plug in the charger which is a bit weird.

Granted, for the price, it is what it is. But, the leather prohibits using the swipe from tthe bottom function, so you are forced to use the product upside down. The "stand" is hard to use as well, wont set up easily, you have to pry open the clip to make it work

Panasonic Lumix TS4 12.1 TOUGH Waterproof Digital Camera with 4.6x Optical Zoom (Silver)

Panasonic Lumix TS4 12.1 TOUGH Waterproof Digital Camera with 4.6x Optical ZoomI have just purchased the Orange DMC TS4. It is a vast improvement over the TS3 in many respects. I appreciate the full manual mode in particular. I like to take shots of the night sky, the stars in particular... the option to set the shutter speed up to 60 seconds is amazing.

The time lapse is also a marked bonus as well. I am a bit worried when leaving the camera in one spot for so long as it may be stolen, but so far I have made some amazing short films.

The overall picture quality seems to have improved as well.

The only MAJOR PROBLEM is that the manufacturer suggests that the watertight seals be replaced to maintain the water-proof integrity of the camera. They have not established what I consider a reasonable pricing structure for this maintenance procedure. To replace the seal you need to unscrew two screws on the door and replace the seal. Yet the service department for Panasonic now charges $180 plus shipping costs (both ways) to do this. I have spoken with the service department and they have assured me new pricing is being considered..so BEWARE!

One minor limitation I see with the camera is, beside the repair issue, the menu is a bit quirky and takes a little while to get used to. Another is to keep your finger off the lens, and keep your finger off the mike. If you cover the mike even a little while recording you will record both your subject but also the internal whizzing and other sounds of the camera.

I have included some of my shots in the customer images section of the product page.

5/8/2012 UPDATE.. Panasonic parts department says you can buy the "water packing" kit for about $32. Part number VUMG 1978.. call 1-800-833-9626 to buy this part. They say this is the part that needs to be replaced each year to keep the watertight integrity of the camera.

6/17/2012 UPDATE... I have just come back from a trip to Japan. A nice Panasonic repair person told me that the lens is prone to come loose and rattle when off. This is weird but normal so he says. The rattle stops when you power up the camera.

**I also discovered a neat feature of the panorama function. When you play back panorama pictures on the camera, when you push the up button, same as when you playback movies, on the camera it makes a movie out of the panorama. It is like you are there. Amazing!!

6/26/2012 UPDATE... Just spoke with Panasonic repair person in TX, USA and they have confirmed that they now charge only $50 to change all of the waterproof seals. (down from $180)

***be warned however, they said they will also look for other things to repair and if they find something the price for those repairs (not covered by any existing warranty) will be $180+.

**8/10/2012NEW REPAIR POLICY. I just spoke with Panasonic repair person in TX again, a new policy has been initiated regarding ts models. They no longer will question camera leaks if under warranty. They told me, at least for now, that they will be replacing them with new, not refurbished, cameras of the same model and color. Good news!! It looks like Panasonic has listened to all the negative comments and decided to do something about it!!!

I just got this camera and after setting it up which was very easy i am impressed with the video and picture quality, as far as the previous review about water safety warnings, when i turn my camera off and on total time for the display to show up is 3 seconds and with NO water safety warnings, i dont know why the previous reader keeps getting the warning. i have not tried the camera in underwater setting yet and thats why i am giving it a 4 star, but will be using it in Tahiti next month and will leave a follow up comment. Nice job panasonic for now.

4/22/2012, this is followup for those who have doubts about this camera, after using it for 2 days in Moorea Tahiti, i could not be happier, it has done a great job on pictures and videos, the camera comes on within 1 second and ready for use, i have used it under water down to 12 meters (40 feet) not one leak into the door housing, the seal is great, i clean the camera under fresh water after every use, and when i open the door to change the battery i wipe the wetness from the seat. i rate this camera a 5 star. i will load a video and pictures when i have access to free internet. cheers

Buy Panasonic Lumix TS4 12.1 TOUGH Waterproof Digital Camera with 4.6x Optical Zoom (Silver) Now

I received the orange Panasonic TS4 two weeks ago for my birthday. My intended purpose for this camera was for my trip to Jamaica, which is where my sister just got married. I was in Jamaica for 1 week and took about 950 pictures. I returned home 2 days ago and after reviewing my pictures on my TV and new iPad, all I can say about this camera is WOW!

The reason I got this camera is because I wanted an all purpose camera that is water proof but can still take great pictures on a day to day basis. In Jamaica I used this camera for my sister's wedding, to go snorkeling, when we climbed waterfalls, went on a lazy river tubing ride, horseback riding in the Caribbean Sea, and everything in between. This camera took outstanding pictures a majority of the time, but did have some difficulty with night time pictures. The images came out a little blurry for some night pictures, so I had to play with the settings a little bit to try to improve the picture quality. Some night pictures did look great with the night setting, but others did not. So night pictures were a hit or miss.

For my sister's wedding, I used this camera for all the pre-wedding pictures as well as during the ceremony which was on the beach. It rained a little during the ceremony (which is supposedly a blessing in Jamaica!) and did not have to worry about my camera failing because of the rain due to the waterproof feature. All the pictures looked amazing.

For the underwater/beach pictures and videos, this was my first waterproof camera so I was a little nervous at first going underwater, but I made sure I followed all the cleaning/soaking rules to make sure it maintained its water tight seal. There were times when the lens would fog due to a quick change in the temperature (which is normal). I noticed it primarily happened going from the beach into the colder water. All I did was make sure my camera was dry and opened the side door to kind of equalize indoor/outdoor temperatures. This fixed the fogging issue withing 5-10 minutes. I think my lens fogged 2 or 3 times throughout the whole trip. Again, these underwater/beach pictures and videos looked amazing.

The GPS feature is cool because it records your location as well as the altitude/depth and pressure, but it did greatly reduce the battery life (which I knew it would prior to purchasing this camera). I bought another battery so I could easily swap out batteries when one would die. I'm definitely glad I did! At the end of the night, I probably used one full battery and about half of the other (I had the GPS feature on). I'm sure if I turned it off it would have lasted much much longer.

After showing my pictures to my friends and family, everyone was astounded that this camera was able to take such great pictures. Between the wedding pictures and the underwater/beach pictures, this camera did it all. I emphasize not just using the automatic setting, however. While the auto setting did take great pictures, I found that going into the scene mode and selecting exactly what setting you'd like for that particular image took even better pictures than the auto setting (especially for night images). I am 100% happy about this camera and I would recommend it to anyone that wants a great point and shoot camera that is also waterproof.

Do not buy this camera / very expensive paper weight.

I purchased this camera to take on our honeymoon in May to the Society Islands in French Polynesia. I read through all the reviews of the TS-4 and TS-3 both positive and negative and thought I was smart enough to not have this camera break, I was wrong. I followed all the instructions making sure the seals were clear and soaking it after snorkeling (never more than 1hr and never below a few feet). 7 days into our trip, and arguably the most amazing day post-camera death, the camera stopped working.

When we returned from the trip I called Panasonic and was told to send to their repair center in TX. I received a call this week that the camera was out of warranty and it would cost $180 for them to start the repair and I would have a 90-day warranty with their work. So my 1-month old camera has now cost me 50% more and will have 33% of the original warranty. The best part, and I'll update once I find out, is that this $180 may not actually cover their repairs...this is just to figure out the repair plan.

Getting a hold of a Panasonic representative has been almost impossible. I've never actually reviewed anything (positive or negative) but I am so upset with Panasonic that I had to. If this helps one person avoid buying this camera or anything from Panasonic I'll be somewhat satisfied.

Update 7.5.12: Received a call two weeks ago that they could not fix the camera, but would send me a new one for an additional $40 more than the $180 to repair. They told me it would be a new camera and would have 90 days of warranty. I said a standard factory warranty was 1 year and asjpked if it was a refurb unit. They said no and that the factory warranty ran concurrently with the 90days and covered 1 yr. You've probably already guessed that the unit they sent was refurbished and has only 90 days of warranty. They also forgot to send the battery back with the camera...who are these people that Panasonic hires?! I laughed at the commercial with the US Soccer team showing the new "tough" iPad wannabe. After the team dumped the Gatorade on the coach all I could think of was "well that will never work again".

I'll keep this short: bought this exact camera on Amazon for a trip to Hawaii. I used it in three feet of water for 20 minutes, without issue. Once on land again, followed instructions and water still found a way to get in.

For the next six days, I had a $279 paper weight.

Upon returning to the mainland, Amazon Customer Service rocked and I returned it for a full refund.

I have zero faith in this product. Do not get burned, or soaked, as I did.

Ruggard Neoprene Sleeve for 9-10" Tablet / eReader

Ruggard Neoprene Sleeve for 9-10' Tablet / eReaderThis is a good, well padded sleeve, which I use for an 8" tablet. The one thing I find unsatisfactory is its strong chemical odor, which after several weeks, is somewhat better (or am I just getting used to it)? If I had known in advance, I definitely would not have purchased this item.

  • Water Resistant Neoprene Sleeve Case.

This is my second rooCASE product which fits my 7in Galaxy Tab perfectly! It is truly well protected. The "bubble-bumps" inside of the case add extra protection and it is form-fitting but not tight. I have another rooCASE for my MacBook Air (which there are very few cases out there to purchase for the MBA) which is also the perfect case.

rooCASEs come in all sorts of colors and just look great. They are made well, not cheap quality (strong zippers & seams) and are not overpriced (IMHO). Buy a rooCASE and you will not be disappointed! I highly recommend them.

Fits my Galaxy Tab perfectly, and the bubble padding gives good protection.

All the seams are tight and well-stitched. Nice piece of kit. The outside pocket is secured by a square of velcro.

The only improvements I would suggest would be a pen pocket, and some sort of loop or ring on it somewhere.

Aluminum Black Metal Case for HTC Desire HD A9191

Aluminum Black Metal Case for HTC Desire HD A9191Con: it significantly reduces the signal strength. I wondered why I never got reception and the signal strength was not as good as my other cheaper phones (Treo 650, Hawei 6600, and my wife's Samsung Galaxy S. I thought the phone had issues with signal strength but I only found out 2 months after the purchase that it was the aluminum case that caused the problem.

When the phone was inside the case, the phone indicated it couldn't connect to the network. When the phone was outside, the indicator on the phone showed 2 or 3 bars.

I tested the phone at my current location and found the below:

with case -73 dBm 19 asu

without case -65 dBm 24 asu

It blocks, not only the power button, but also the curtain with "notifications" and "quick settings" on top of the screen. Try to pull down the curtain with your big fat finger! I have to use my little finger all the time.

I still keep the case though because of the protection is better compared to other cases. I might get a leather case shortly though because I might get to areas where signal strength is an issue.

It is a really durable case. I drop my phone usually twice a week , but this thing keeps my phone protected. After few landings on the concrete the case already has scratches but the phone is like new don't forget about adding screen protector.

The only thing that I don't like about this case: that is slightly blocking the lock button

It is a really great product.

Gomadic Advanced Garmin iQue 3600 AA Battery Pack Charge Kit - Portable power built with upgradeable TipExchange Technology
  • Specification: Input Voltage (4 X AA Batteries), Cable length (6 inches), Dimensions (5.0 X 1.5 X 0.75 inches), Circuit Design (Garmin iQue 3600 specific), TipExchange enabled (Yes)
  • Integrated circuitry regulates output voltage specific to the Garmin iQue 3600. Advanced logic maximizes overall charger efficiency.
  • Built using the unique Gomadic TipExchange Technology that protects your investment by providing the ability to upgrade charging ports by simply swapping physical connectors.
  • A must have accessory for the frequent traveler, camper or heavy Garmin iQue 3600 user.
  • Safely engineered with reverse polarity protection, in the event batteries are accidentally put in incorrectly.

The extender does the job but it's poorly designed. It's too small to properly accommodate rechargeable batteries; you have to squeeze them in and press the lid so they don't burst out. The lid locking mechanism seems to be very delicate and all that pushing could easily break it. The connector requires some pushing/tugging to attach/remove it from the PDA.

Somewhat skeptical about this until I used it. Works great for those unexpected times when the internal battery runs down. I would not recommend it for times when you need the GPS though it drains those AA batts really quick.

Keyspan by Tripp Lite PR-US2 Presentation Remote Wireless w Laser, Mouse

Keyspan by Tripp Lite PR-US2 Presentation Remote Wireless w Laser, MouseI bought this remote to make PowerPoint presentations and I have to say I am pretty satisfied with the purchase. It does what it claims, installation was painless, just insert the transmitter into USB port and WinXP can recognize the device. I haven't tested the maximum operating distance, but I never experienced a problem with the laptop not responding to my actions. Just a couple things I would like to mention that I feel need improvement.

First, it's difficult to turn on the laser pointer. You need to press one button and then hold two buttons together and wait for 10 seconds. And the same you would like to turn it off. I cannot really understand if such complexity is really necessary.

Second, the battery used is the round flat one, like the one in the watches, just bigger. You can find it online, but not in the convenience store. I would rather them use a standard one.

Otherwise, I think for the money that is the best you can do. Comparable Logitech model is probably better, but costs $100 more at the time of this review.

I do presentations all the time. Tired of my old remote, I bought one of each of the major brands to compare them: Interlink, Atek, Logitech, Gyro, ...

By far this is my favorite remote. The key features are

1. Size: small enough to fit easily in your pocket

2. Built in laser pointer

3. Mouse controls: thumb pad, plus 2 buttons

4. Scroll wheel.

The last feature -the scroll wheel -is hard to find in many remotes. I really like using the scroll wheel to flip rapidly through a presentation. That feature sets this remote apart for me.

All in all, a very nice product for a very reasonable price.

Buy Keyspan by Tripp Lite PR-US2 Presentation Remote Wireless w Laser, Mouse Now

I've tried a number of remotes, some of which are more expensive. This one has worked the best for me. For a point of reference, the last one I used (and returned) was the Logitech Multimedia Presenter w/ trackball; unconventional start procedure and sloooooowwwww trackball that didn't move all that freely.

Anyway, back to the point(er). I think the Keyspan is laid out quite well. Advancing slides can be done using either the wheel or the advance button. The mouse is very responsive w/ good speed and has an automatic slow-down next to buttons (nice for those w/o much dexterity or new to the one-finger operation).

The laser wasn't as tough for me as some of the other reviewers. Just depress one button while depressing another one for 3-4 seconds and voila. The laser option is kinda moot for me though since using a laser on something like a powerpoint presentation will generally not yield good results anyway; the laser will always get overpowered by the slide. If you use a laser on something like a big powerpoint on a screen, you can imagine just how ineffective it would be. That is why I use the mouse pointer when highlighting things I'm talking about on a particular slide. And that is why the nice speed and responsiveness of the mouse pad is a plus.

Bottom line: No complaints from me, has worked like a charm so far, and is a good buy imo.

UPDATE: The remote continues to work w/o problems. Used it for the entire school year (teach at a university and use powerpoint incessantly). The only add-on that you might want to get is an extension for the receiver if line-of-sight is an issue; I suggest a retractable cord so that you can stay as portable as possible. Besides that, the remote itself has proven to be solidly constructed and has held up quite well.

UPDATE #2: A couple years later and things are still hunky-dory w/ the remote. Works like a charm. Use it about 10 hours a week, so got some good mileage on it, and still everything is just fine. If you do get one, I still would suggest a USB extension cord; easier to hook up to a computer, especially if the port is on the back or it's one of those tight ones at an angle and you might want to use the other usb port (like on many of the Dell's).

UPDATE #3: Well, we're now looking at nearly 5 years since I wrote my initial review. Nothing has changed. This thing is still working lights out and hasn't given me any problems. I still look at new stuff out there (gadget guy), but still nothing compares yet. Even bought a Swiss Gear one 'cause it was dirt cheap and had the dongle that fit into the remote when not in use. But, couldn't compare. This thing is one of those 'classic' input devices that you'll keep forever if you try it (kinda like the logitech trackman wheel is for me as a mouse).

I've given up using this product because it is just not consistent enough. It will work well for short periods, but then I have to click the button repeatedly for a slide to move forward. Sometimes only every third click will work, which is very annoying when you are standing in front of an audience and talking about what is about to appear. This has happened in several talks, so I doubt it is anything to do with RF fields in particular environments. Obviously, the product is not designed with a high-reliability wireless protocol.

Other problems are the complex method for turning on the laser pointer, the rather low brightness of the laser pointer, and the non-standard choice of battery. Some things are very nice, such as the small travel size and weight and the fact that absolutely no setup is required (one of the only true plug-and-play products I've seen). Its too bad that this was taken to market without getting all the details right.

I first heard about this product from another instructor at the school that I work at. After trying it once, I immediately went out and bought it.

I used it for one semester and experienced some of the same problems that others have; draining the battery in the carrying case and difficulty with the laser pointer. Now, after only one semester (16 weeks) the back button on the front and side is not working at all.

I sent an e-mail to Keyspan, but have yet to hear a response. If this is the type of service and performance we can expect from them, then who is their competitor? My initial thought was to buy another one, but I don't want to give money to a company that isn't going to back up their product.

I love the product and the idea, it was great when it worked, but I don't think that I will be buying any future Keyspan products because of the lack of customer support and the short life span of a workable product.

Toshiba PA3188U-1PRP USB/VGA expansion pack for e740, e755

Toshiba PA3188U-1PRP USB/VGA expansion pack for e740, e755I really love it, I know it's expensive but it worth it,

I am PreSale Support, so I need to give several presetantion in the client office's and I really love to give my presetation with my PDA. it is easy and fast.

You can Download the presetation software for FREE in the Toshiba Technical Support Center

also the USB port OK, practically you can connect any USB appliance, like a Mouse, keyboard, USB flash memry, printer, modem, network card, USB Hub etc..

I own a USB flash memory, and it is really usefull to share documents with any PC with out Active Sync, using this USB Storage Flash Memory.

I give 4 stara instead of 5 because it really consume battery life and finding drivers for the USB appliance is dificult, I have not jet found a good Mouse Driver.

but I really like my expansion pack

the best part is that I bouth this Item in my vacation in Spain, and the price tag was mistake and was only €20

The expansion pack adds USB and VGA out to the e740 Pocket PC. Perfect for presentations, and is small enough that it won't get in the way. Hook up a monitor and a mouse and you have a full scale PC ! Great addition to an already usefull tool.

This has to be the coolest add on for my Toshiba e755 Pocket PC.

I wanted this Expansion Pack when I first heard about it, but didn't want to shell out a hundred bucks for it. When I saw CircuitCity was selling it on there site for thirteen dollars I couldn't resist ordering it.

Problems: The first time I used it I had a problem that I didn't have enough free system memory. A hard reboot and installing all programs that didn't need to be installed to main memory to compact flash card fixed the problem.

I don't like having to remove my Pocket PC from my Belkin case in fear of dropping my Pocket PC, but I was able to resolve my problem by modifying my case. I guess it's better to remove it, since my Pocket PC gets a little hot when using it.

Pro's: It's does what it says. I've tried it with a monitor and projector with full success.

Output

640x480x64k @60Hz

or

800x600x64k @60Hz

Plus you have the capability of mirroring your Pocket PC display onto a projector or monitor. You have several options for output display. Upright (This doesn't take up whole display) or rotated to one side to fit whole display.

I would recommend you try a better Power Point program than the free one from Toshiba. Go visit Handango and search for "Power Point". I like Pocket Slides. Expensive, but you can do more than any other program out there. Try the trial before you buy.

All in all I'm very satisfied with my Toshiba Expansion Pack.

Palm Stylus 3-Pack (3178WW)

Palm Stylus 3-PackGREAT!!!! The feeling is rigth, the weigth is rigth and it fits perfectly! It comes with caps for Tungsten E and Zire 72

I bought this 3-pack despite the negative reviews here. Visually, there is almost no difference between these and the original stylus. These are lighter than the original stylus (which I thought was overly heavy anyway), but are still comfortable, with a metal shaft. The fact that a pen is included more than makes up for any loss in weight. The reset pin is kind of useless since you can just use the stylus itself to reset a TX, but it could come in handy for resetting someone else's Palm. It comes with interchangeable snap-on caps so that they will work with some other Palm models (Tungsten E/E2 and Zire 72).

For my old Palm I paid $12 for the Pentopia stylus with a pen, and for the same price you get 3. I liked the Pentopia's springloaded stylus tip, but this one is fixed, just like the original. Also I don't think these are refillable, but I don't use this often enough to run out of ink, just when I don't have a pen handy.

This is a great product, don't be scared away by the bad reviews.

UPDATE: After a year I am still on the first of my three styluses, so they are durable. The pen runs dry under heavy use, but then works again later. Where the tip end screws into the shaft, it gets loose, so I put some glue on the threads to help hold it in place. The cap on the pen still snaps firmly in place.

I'm not a negative person, in fact I try to see the best in most everything but when it came to actually USING these stylus with my Palm TX it JUST WASNT WORKING.

Frustratingly the stylus easily slid in its holding area in my unit but when it was needed, when sliding it out, it ALWAYS separated before actually COMING out of the holder.

I have identified the problem: the interchangeable 'head' or top piece (used to adapt this stylus to other units) which simply SNAPS on should actually be a screwed on piece as, with use, the SNAP part fails and thus it no longer functions as one piece causing the problems mentioned above.

TWO of the three stylus dont hold when removed from the handheld (failing snap part).

FRUSTRATINGLY I've switched back to my original stylus knowing I have only ONE operational backup stylus even though I purchased a three pack.

This is a cheap lightweight substitute made to sell at a low price point. I would gladly pay $20 for ONE of the original weighty styli that came with my TX.

Want Palm Stylus 3-Pack (3178WW) Discount?

These styli are well worth the purchase price, but a few things are worth mentioning. The bottom portion of the stylus is screwed in (that's where the reset pin resides) and regularly becomes loose. When it first happened, I thought that the tip was mounted on a spring and it actually made the stylus more comfortable, though I suspect that the threading would wear out if one used it for long in that manner. One of the three styli had the plastic tip fall off. It's easy to fix with a drop of Krazy Glue, but if it fell off unnoticed, it would have rendered the entire stylus unusable. Keep an eye out for loose plastic tips! My final criticism is cosmetic. With heavy use, the chrome plating dulled within a couple of weeks where it makes contact with the skin (and I'm pretty sure I don't ooze hydrochloric acid).

With these or the original stylus, I strongly recommend the use of plastic screen protectors. The tips are relatively soft, but prolonged use will leave irreparable marks on an unprotected screen, especially on spots where you tend to tap most often.

Other than that, it's a great little product. The weight is good, though lighter than the original stylus, the pen writes very nicely and smoothly, and the reset pin is solid metal and doesn't bend out of shape like the flimsy plastic one on the original. With the appropriate (included) cap, it fits perfectly in the Tungsten E2 slot. I'll leave it to other reviewers to comment on the fit with other models.

Thermaltake ISGC Fan 8 Innovative Silent Fan with Advanced Technology, 8 CM with Hydro Dynamic Bear

Thermaltake ISGC Fan 8 Innovative Silent Fan with Advanced Technology, 8 CM with Hydro Dynamic Bearing AF0043I bought one of these as a replacement for another set of cheaper fans in my home theater PC. As the PC is the source for most of my music and video in my home theater any noise is annoying.

My old fans didn't make any noise, and moved a significant amount of air, but also sounded like a mini tornado. Fed up with the racket I bought one of these as a test.

It turned out to be fantastic. Each fan has a dial on the power line allowing you to manually set the max speed. On the lowest setting the fan is truly silent, on the highest setting there is a slight wind noise but it was still noticeably quieter than my old fans. I bought four and using the dial set them to a mid-range setting. The noise difference between my old fans and these is startling, these are much quieter.

Based on how much air I feel each individual one pushing out of my PC it seems that these, on the high setting, don't push as much air as my old ones. However as they are so quiet I put four into my PC case (which has the venting/mounts for this) and feel comfortable that they are all together moving far more air than my two old fans did.

The PS3 is now the loudest component I have on the rack.

This fan is silent and effective. It really moves a lot of air.

I bought this to quiet down my server, as the case came with a fan that was quite noisy. Mission accomplished.

Replaced fan on new Mediasonic ProBox as it had a very annoying clicking due to not being made for variable speed use. It is 5mm thicker but just replaced cover screws with longer ones. Had to put plug from original fan on it and left the variable speed knob hanging out the back. I then set the Mediasonic fan speed on high and adjusted speed with fan controller. On all but highest speed it is perfectly quiet.

I have three of these running in two different PC's. One because the old antec fan burned out, and the other to fefit an old dell case. They run quiet and have run for a long time. I think these are all adjustable so you can tune them for specific purposes which I did with my old dell refit.

This fan is amazing. I had been looking for the best small brushless dc motor that will be used as a reliable motor that will not fail to re-start. This fan will run at 3 volts and even if you stop the spin with your bare hand and let go, it will restart spinning by itself in less than 2 seconds. All the other fans I experimented with did not restart on thesame test-they just froze. I plan to purchase hundreds of them for my up coming product.

Ectaco C-Pen. 3.0 Multilingual Handheld OCR Scanner Pen

Ectaco C-Pen. 3.0 Multilingual Handheld OCR Scanner PenAs a scholar who works with books and other printed sources a lot, I have long been on the lookout for an easy way to scan text into my laptop. I've tried using both flatbed scanners and digital cameras for this purpose, but I've found both to be awkward and time-consuming. That's why I was pleased to discover the C-Pen 20 it's not perfect, but it does the job quicker and more easily than any of the alternatives.

PROS:

It's easy to use; you just press the pointer to the page and a light comes on to let you know that the sensor is active. You then sweep the C-Pen from left to right at moderate speed as if it were a highlighter, and it converts the text on the page into electronic characters on your computer.

The text instantly appears wherever the cursor on your screen is located, so you can use this device with just about any Windows program (e.g., Word, Access, etc.).

The recognition rate is higher than I thought it would be; it's better than 99% on book-sized text. In practical terms, this means that you'll get one or two errors on average per paragraph, but these flaws are easily corrected (particularly if your spell checker highlights them for you automatically).

It's small and easily portable, so you can take it with you to libraries and archives with a laptop.

CONS:

The character recognition is sometimes thrown off by underlining and other marks on the page.

You must use it with a PC or laptop that has a USB port (it doesn't run on batteries like some scanning pens).

Even though it recognizes just about every major language written in Latin, Cyrillic, or Greek letters, it can't handle older typefaces (like German Fraktur). It also has trouble recognizing some symbols (such as footnotes).

You have to scan each line of text one at a time, so it's not necessarily the best solution if you need to copy many pages of text.

The bottom line is that the C-Pen 20 has been an excellent investment for me, and I recommend it to anyone who's looking for an easy way to transfer printed text into an electronic medium.

UPDATE (2011):

I wrote this review almost five years ago. I continue to think highly of this product despite the occasional error, I'm still amazed at how accurately it reads text most of the time. I only have two caveats to add:

1) The original grey and beige C-Pen 20 doesn't work with newer 64-bit versions of Windows, only 32-bit ones. This is tricky if you bought your PC or laptop in the past two years or so, you may be running a 64-bit version of Windows without realizing it (they both look the same to a non-technical user). You can check which version you have by going to Control Panel and selecting "System" it should say "32-bit" or "64-bit" under "System Type." If you have a 64-bit copy of Windows, you'll need to buy the newer C-Pen 3.0 or 3.5, or else see if you can find a black C-Pen 20 (which is also 64-bit compatible).

2) Digital cameras and OCR (optical character recognition) technology have improved dramatically over the past few years. If you need to scan multiple pages of text into electronic form, a digital camera and a good software program (Finereader or Omnipage) might be a better alternative. For saving snippets of text, however, the C-Pen continues to be the best solution.

I am a bit of a scanning pen fanatic. I write papers and use them to collect research data. That is why I was excited to see that C-Pen (the best scanning pen manufacturer) had come out with a new model (the first in several years). My expectation was that this model would be far better than the C10 (the previous USB scanner) given the advance in technology since its release. I was pretty disappointed overall. This model is no quicker than the C10 and no more accurate. The software does not do as good a job as the C10 and it is not uncommon to have the pen miss an entire line of text. This is particularly important since I am often scanning very rapidly and don't take time to look up at the screen to see that the text is entered correctly.

Overall, not as good as the C10 (which I would give 4 stars), but better than the Iris Pen Executive (2 stars).

Please also note that this pen does not work with Mac computers (the only USB pen that does is the Iris Pen).

I feel completely compelled to write this review for the C-Pen 20. It far exceeds my expectation. I am a graduate student, working on a doctorate at Harvard University. It is a tool, or better yet, a weapon that has reduced my time tremendously. I wish I had it while going through my master's program.

I would say that it is about 90% accurate right out of the box without any training. I have had it about 3 weeks now, and with improved technique, I have increased its accuracy to about 95% 97%. I have found it helpful to always perform the stroke left right. It is easier for 2 reason, 1) that is the way humans read and 2) you don't have to readjust the position of your hand.

I would recommend it to anyone who has to do research, or persons who are in a profession where previous documentation is necessary.

I am a money manager in NYC. I probably read over 150 pages of research everyday. In order for me to track ideas and not forget things it is important for me to have some sort of method to organize this information overload. My first purchase was the IRIS Executive pen. It did a horrible job of converting written text into MS WORD, the error rate was over 50% and made the task of cleaning it up twice what it would of been if I just decided to type it. I returned it within 5 days. I went ahead and purchased the C-PEN (with a return policy). What a Difference! I can run through 100 pages of research and condense it into 2 pages with minimal errors. Not only does it create legible conversion (over 90%) but once you lift the pen it creates a space for you..(no need to hit a button on pen) This is probably the only one that should be invested in, they have the idea and technology down pat. C-PEN has made my life easier!

Want Ectaco C-Pen. 3.0 Multilingual Handheld OCR Scanner Pen Discount?

in a general sense, this c-pen seems OK, but:

there shouldn't be too much light (this is a problem especially at night time, i.e. under a bulb)

you shouldn't expect too much accuracy; i'm using it for Turkish texts and the overall accuracy is around 80%.

quality of the book also effects the result

tables and figures can't be scanned, of course

and finally, you've to be connected to your computer during operation.

Yet, i'm happy with this thing. It reduces the labour necessary to extract large amounts of text. Could be useful especially for PhD students.
