rooCASE Apple iPad 4 Folio Case Cover with Stand and Smart Cover Function - 6 Styles

rooCASE Executive Portfolio Genuine Leather Case for 4th Generation iPad with Retina Display / the new iPad 3rd / Apple iPad 2I purchased this case after reading the positive reviews. The product arrived on a timely manner yesterday and it fit my Ipad2 perfectly. The leather is a gorgeous red and all the notches align properly. The top cover folds over to create the perfect typing angle and the smart cover works everytime. There ends my lovestory with this case. It does make the Ipad 2 bulkier but that is a minor price to pay for its protection. The viewing angle of this case seems wobbly and I am afraid it might not hold up in the longer run. But what irks me the most is that the top cover pops up slightly when laid flat on the ipad due to folding over. The magnetic clasp is not strong enough to keep the ipad covered if I lift it using the back. I am definitely returning this and looking elsewhere. But I so love the color...

Update 6/17/11: The manufacturer's customer service is really commendable. Few hours after posting the above review, I received a call from them offering me a different comparable model of theirs in exchange. Whatever is your issue, they will work with you to correct it. I will update more after I receive the replacement.

Update 6/18/11: Received this

rooCASE Convertible Premium Leather (Red) Case Cover with 24 Angle Adjustable Stand for Apple iPad 2 Wifi / 3G Model 16GB, 32GB, 64GB

as a replacement by priority shipping and the store sent a return label for my original case. PCmicrostore just earned a loyal customer.

The new one definitely takes care of the problem I had with the other, it has awesome viewing angles and is sturdier than this product. The new case is bulkier than this but slightly. I am happy with it.

If the manufacturer had provided the same magnetic closure/clasp that they have provided the 24 angle model to this Dual station, the finicky problem would have been solved.

I researched for weeks to find the best iPad 2 case and after countless hours reading reviews and looking up manufacturers, I finally came upon this Roocase folio case and the Zoogue iPad 2 case () . For this review, I will compare and contrast these 2 cases, since from my perspective they represent the best options.

Both cases are made from genuine leather and have approximately the same bulk. Both employ the smart sleep feature (which I LOVE), and both have similar designs. Neither case has a vertical stand option, but since 98% of apps work in the horizontal position, it is not a huge negative.

Here are the things that differentiate them....

Zoogue:

Pros:The Velcro option for this stand makes any viewing angle possible. It wouldn't seem like 1/8 of an inch would make a difference, but with this case, I could adjust the angle by infinitesimal degrees to find that perfect spot. And, because the case employs Velcro, once you put in position, it stays in position! You don't have worry about typing or touching the screen only to have the case slip out of place and fall back.

-The car strap is wonderful, and we did use it for positioning on our seat backs for viewing some movies and TV episodes while traveling in the car.

Cons:

The Zoogue case only comes in light pink, black and dark grey. That is fine for most, but since we were purchasing cases for the entire family (2 kids and 2 adults), color choices became necessary. I wish it would come in vibrant colors like blue, red, green, etc.

The car strap, while wonderful, does stretch out a bit, and you have to make sure to fasten it tight when not in use, otherwise it can flop a little.

The Velcro (especially the light pink) does attract some dust and debris.-nothing terrible, but worth noting

at $49.95, the cost was a little steep. I used a coupon to get free shipping, but the price was high, and if I had had to purchase 4 of them, that would have been $200.00. Hard to swallow.

This brings me to why after purchasing a Zoogue case, I purchased the Roocase for the rest of the family (and then one for myself)

Roocase:

Pros:I love the magnetic strap for closing the case. I cannot tell you how nice it is to pick up your case and not worry that the cover is flopping open and closed (and thereby waking your iPad and then putting it back to sleep over and over). The Zoogue case doesn't have a super convenient way to ensure the case stays closed. You can pull the car strap over the front, but that was not conveniently easy.

I love the magnet stand that clicks back into place when you are done. Again, it is a sleek design that I love. The Zoogue case stand secures back into place with Velcro. But for this particular feature, they only used a tiny square of Velcro that over time I could see no longer being as effective in keeping the stand closed.

I love that there were 4 color choices (we each now have a different color case so no more "you have my iPad!" arguments). And While I wish the Roocase also came in a greater variety of colors (blue, green, brown etc), the light pink was perfect for my youngest daughter, black for my husband, magenta for me and red for my teenager. It worked for our family.

at $29.95, it came in $20 cheaper than the Zoogue case and with prime membership, I got free 2 day shipping

Cons: While the case does allow for multiple viewing angles, nothing surpasses the Zoogue case flexibility, and so many times I have been disappointed that I could not find that absolute "perfect" angle (I know I am a little OCD :). Also, while the stand is very sturdy and in most positions will not slip out when the iPad is typed on, the lowest viewing angles do tend to slip out of place, or not work at all. Most people won't find that an issue, but for me, it can be very annoying.

In the ideal world, there would be a case that would combine the best of both featuresmore color options, a magnetic closing strap and magnetic closing stand, but using Velcro for the stand positioning feature (and if it were a truly perfect world, also still incorporating the car strap feature). I own both, and to be honest you can't go wrong with either case!

I really like this case. The red color is vibrant and the material is nice quality. Some have commented on the magnetic on/off function not working, but mine works fine so far. I love the multiple positions it allows for viewing and the velcro keeps the iPad sturdy. I also like how it has a protective case surrounding the iPad if you want to use it alone without the stand function. Now for my complaint... I received this case January 4, 2012 and on January 6, 2012 (only 2 days later) I noticed cracking/splitting along the spine of the case on the inside and outside unfortunately. Perhaps I received a defective case. I'll contact the seller PC Microstore and Amazon customer service to see what can be done about this.

Update:

I emailed the seller PC Microstore about the splitting in the spine of the case, they immediately emailed me back. They promptly sent me a new replacement case in perfect condition along with a prepaid mailing label to return the first case. Great case & great customer service from a great seller !

Nokia 2610 Leather Fitted Carrying Case

Nokia 2610 Leather Fitted Carrying CaseI bought this case as a Christmas present for my dad. The case is amazing. It's snug with soft lining to protect the actual phone, and it's easy to use through the plastic, which was clean and very clear. But he's just had it for about one month and the clip has already broken. I can't say for sure if he yanked at it(he might be lying to get out of trouble), but he had his last belt clip for a few years, so I doubt it was him.

So, I guess I'm on the search for a replacement clip, but I don't want a new case. The case itself it nice.

City Navigator Israel Nt

City Navigator Israel Nt
  • Includes highways, interstates, and business and residential roads in metropolitan and rural areas.
  • Includes turn restrictions, roundabout guidance, speed categories.
  • Gives turn-by-turn directions.

I bought the Garmin City Navigator Israel for a recent trip to Israel--our first visit there, and we were driving around to quite a few places in a rental car. I was not sure if we needed it or if paper maps would be good enough. I was really, really glad I bought it! It was a great help--it had all of the places we were looking for and accurate and easy to follow directions. It is very current (I think it is new). We were really happy with it. A tip for using it--the spelling of street names can be different in the gps than the ones you have, so, if you don't find the street by spelling it, browse through the street names list and you'll almost always find it with a slightly different spelling. It was very good for finding a gas station and "points of interest" as well. Jerusalem was very challenging for driving around, and we would have been hopelessly lost without the City Navigator--but with it we got around very well. I had a little bit of trouble putting the sd card into the gps--I didnt realize that you had to remove the larger adaptor card and just stick the tiny little sd card itself into the gps. I bought the card because I saw online that a lot of people had trouble with the downloaded version. It was a little challenging getting the nuvi to recognize the map when I first installed it--you have to go through several steps with the settings in the gps to tell it to look for another map (I found the directions for how to do this on someone's blog the web, not in the manual!)but once I got that set it worked great. Highly recommended if you are driving around Israel. One humorous thing--the nuvi voice has a very hard time pronouncing Hebrew names, and the pronunciations of the street names were hilarious. Sometimes it seemed to give up entirely and just garbled the name completely. We could always figure it out, but it was really funny.

This is a great map of Israel. It works very well for both driving and walking. It provides excellent turn-by-turn directions. It is far superior to maps from other companies and Israeli GPS vendors that I have used in the past.

There are three things that any buyer should know.

First, in order to accommodate Hebrew and Arabic translations, many city or street names may be spelled in an unusual or inconsistent manner. For example, when looking something a up a name consider "K", "KH" "H" or "C" for the "CH" sound, or "J" or "Y" for an "I" sound. Also consider that apostrophes are often used when spelling single or compound words.

Second, the map has a political bent and may act unusually in areas that are outside the "Green Line". To get to many of these cities you may have to restart the system or specifically ask it to provide directions in "Area C". After that, it will work great. In our recent travels at no time did the GPS recommend any unsafe routes, but a little knowledge of history and geopolitics is helpful for best usage.

Third, oral pronunciations into English may not sound exactly like you would expect. However, this can be more entertaining than annoying and is not really a problem.

Overall, I strongly recommend this product for safe and hassle free travel in Israel.

The Israel version of Garmin City Navigator is okay. We used it for both local and distance driving during a three week stay in Israel. Sometimes the directions are spot on, as when we visited a home in Ma'ale Adumim east of Jerusalem. Other times they are maddeningly incomplete, as when it told us to "stay left" on the road, only to find that the next turn was from the far right lane--we therefore missed the turn and had to double back. Other times, road or Exit names were incorrect, though the actual turn was correct. Also, the audio often fails to alert you to upcoming turns, so you need to watch teh map frequently and be vigilant.

Overall it's far better to have this than not. But if you use it, when there's a conflict between the name and the image on the map, go with the map--we found that the image was always right.

Since Hertz would not guarantee a GPS with the car I will be renting in Israel, Plan B was to buy Garmin's Israel Maps SD card and use it with my 1490. The installation is a nonevent and the maps seem to be quite complete. Plus the SD card is usable in many Garmin units, so I others can borrow it when they go to visit. A win-win.

This bag was bought to fit my tv; which it does, but it could have been a hair thicker. I thought the little mesh pocket in the bag opened up, it doesn't but has slots I could put thin "coin" sized batteries in. I might have done better to stick with my case logic bag, but I thought it would be more suitable. Still, not a total loss.

I sent back the TV that was supposed to go in here. I decided to keep this case, though. I see me using it for my iPods or PSP. The fact that the case is kind of hard-sided is great and will make this case useful even without the TV.

JOINNEW@ 60W & 85W 45W AC Power Adapter DC Repair Cord " T " Connector for Apple MacBook Pro

JOINNEW@ 60W & 85W 45W AC Power Adapter DC Repair Cord ' T ' Connector for Apple MacBook ProI ordered this replacement cable because a dog decided to chew on my charger cable and destroy it, but only chewed on the side between the power brick and computer. After a small amount of research on google/youtube I found that replacing the cable wasn't very difficult since I had a soldering iron, solder, and the desire to fix something (rather than spend $80 for a new one from apple). The item I received did come from China and the seller shipped via USPS. It arrived well before the "projected" delivery window, it took 6 total days to receive the item.

Now to review the actual cable. It looks and feels just like the old cable. The connector has a solid magnetic connection to the mac itself. After soldering the new cable to the old power brick, I connected it to the Macbook pro, and like before It just works. The light is green when fully charged and amber/yellow when charging, just like before.

Overall a very simple and relatively easy solution to repair a broken cable from the power brick of the original magsafe charger to the Mac itself. Looks, feels like and acts like OEM cable, I would highly recommend for repair/replacement.

Product did not have any brand name on the box or on the instruction booklet. I could not make the product work other than being able to change the time. Gave tablet to husband and he's worked since last week on it. Husband did manage to get product to load pictures from his collection and view as a slideshow. He has not been able to get the app store to work or to download any apps. The webbrowser does work so there is the ability to check email. I was disappointed with the product and gave it to husband to play with and I do not intend to take it back. Sorry to say, but, it's trash to me. Husband is frustrated with the tablet as it doesn't work as advertised and probably will put it in a drawer and forget about it.

Instapark PPD-1000 11,000 mAh External Battery Pack & Charger with Dual USB Ports for iPad2, iPad,

Instapark PPD-1000 11,000 mAh External Battery Pack & Charger with Dual USB Ports for iPad2, iPad, iPhone 4S 4 3Gs 3G, iPod Touch, Motorola Droid, HTC Android Phone, Blackberry, Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1, HTC flyerI've had mine for about 7 months now and it works great. It can charge my iPhone 5 from dead to full several times before needing to be recharged. I usually recharge it using the Goal Zero Nomad 7 solar panel. I just set it out in the sun during the day and recharge my iPhone at night. No problems so far. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone looking for a good battery pack for gear that you can charge via USB. I'm planning on getting a second one for my wife. I think that says it all.

I got a good one, at least so far.

This is an interesting "Black Box" product with no Label, or any indication on the device showing the manufacturers name. It looks virtually identical to another brand name product and seems to be very well made. I have used it, and tested it, over the past couple of months with these results:

It charged a 3rd generation iPad from 5% to 67%. It charged a first generation iPad from 5% to 100% with power to spare. Amperage and Voltage from the 2A USB port while charging is comparable to that from the Apple wall charger that comes with the iPad. (Charging from either device seems to peak at about 6 watts)

It runs a USB powered fan (ARCTIC Portable USB-Fan, a truly great little personal fan) for over 35 hours non-stop on one charge.

I used it while camping in warm humid weather to run the fan for 3 nights in a row and then used it to power my iPad 3 starting at a 15% charge level on a flight for 4 hours until it was finally depleted and had charged my iPad to 50%.

I have charged it with the "Instapark" 10 watt USB solar panel from fully depleted to fully charged. This took about 9 hours over a 2 day period with the panel laying flat in full sunlight.

I am very impressed with this little power pack, even though it has no name, and despite the concerns I have that the USB ports may not be beefy enough to support my cool little fan over the long haul. It would not be fair, based on my experience so far, to give this any less than a 5 star rating.

Kept my GOgroove SonaVERSE BX speaker system and iPhone 5 charged up on my 4 day camping trip. iPad drains it pretty quickly.

This little charger works like a champ. Not only do I love the fact that it has a 2A and a 1A output. This allows you to charge an ipad on the 2Amp output. It also works great with the instapark solar panel to recharge itself. I used this on a 4 day camping trip. I charged over 5 phones over the weekend multiple times. I started off with the charger fully charged from a pc but then had it running all weekend, either charger phones or re-charging itself on the solar panel.

The one odd thing is that, if you plug in a device you have to unplug the male usb connector in order to have it start charging again. So rather than keeping cables plugged into the 2 port and plugging in devices on the other end of the cables, you have to unplug the cable from the batter pack and plug it back in, in order to get it to start charging.

Overall, well worth the money.

Panasonic NI-WL600 Cordless Multi-Directional Iron, Stainless Steel Soleplate, Silver/Black

Panasonic NI-WL600 Cordless Multi-Directional Iron, Stainless Steel Soleplate, Silver/BlackCustomer review from the Amazon Vine Program (An iron review from a GUY? Get over it: I was in the military.)

This expensive little item can be thought of as Cordless Iron v2.0, with some real improvements. Unfortunately, Panasonic missed the sweet price point by a factor of two, but if that's not a problem for you, then this might be the best iron out there. It's heavy enough to be effective, yet light enough to be an all-day tool.

It heats up INCREDIBLY fast, like from dead cold with a full reservoir, it's puffing steam and ready to work in one minute flat. I never understood why irons are iron-shaped, with one sharp end and an awkward flat end that gets caught on seams and pockets when naturally sliding backward. This one is double-ended, solving that problem and allowing for detailed ironing in both directions. (One commenter mentions getting one for quilting: I'll bet he's thrilled with it.) Panasonic claims it's "360 degree" and it is, up to a point: the curl on the edges of the soleplate allows you to effectively move sideways, even over fairly rough seams, but that probably won't feel natural to you, either. The fully-retractable cord on the base is a nice touch.

One concern I had is that the stand for the iron is 95% plastic, with plastic rollers that contact the soleplate directly. I parked the iron on High for a long time (it cycles on and off, naturally). The plastic paid no attention. An iron mostly made out of "Plastics" would have been a punch-line back in 1967 when "The Graduate" was made, but is an actual selling point today.

(This part exclusively for guys.) First, a quick sanity check: Are you thinking of buying this as a present for your sweetie? PLEASE understand that when she is asked why she ditched you, she'll summarize the entire relationship with: "He bought me an iron for my birthday."

Ironing doesn't exactly come naturally to us, but I have several really nice shirts that I never wore because the collars turn into pretzels when washed. A good iron like this takes care of that problem in no time, but is actually so pleasant to use that the entire shirt ends up getting ironed, and then a few pairs of pants besides. I sheepishly admit that I did further research, discovered it's better to use a good spray starch like this one only on collars and cuffs; use spray "sizing" everywhere else.

Very nice machine. Feed it an exclusive diet of distilled water, and enjoy.

==================================================

Now for he manual, which is actually useful. I've summarized the important details below, to save you from the usual endless lawyer-noise, like "NEVER IRON CLOTHES ON THE BODY." (No, I didn't make it up: lawyer-noise is impossible to satirize.)

Two obvious buttons, marked well with icons: Extra Steam Blast, and Squirt Of Water. The manual says Extra Steam Blast only works reliably on High, but from my experience it also works fine on Low. Squirt of Water is extremely mist-like, even from cold, so spotting should never be a problem some real engineering went into that little feature.

One three-way switch, clearly icon-marked as No Steam, Steam, Extra Steam.

Less obvious: The water reservoir detaches from the base. There's a little button on the front stem of the handle, allowing you to pull the reservoir and all its controls off. This allows you to fill the iron from a shallow sink, preheat the iron while filling the reservoir, or use the iron as a dry-iron with the water reservoir detached. (The manual doesn't mention that little weight-saving slant.)

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program

You know what I hate most about ironing? The cord that gets in the way, the water that sputters out when you were only trying for steam and the length of time most irons take to heat up and the amount of time it takes to actually do the ironing. This iron solves all of that. It heats super fast, there's no cord on the iron to worry about and it doesn't sputter. It doesn't even spit. It's well behaved, easy to use and does exactly what it's supposed to do, but with much less effort than any other iron I've ever used. Oh, and one other thing, I love that it doesn't have Teflon on the ironing plate. You know, that stuff that's supposed to keep stuff you burn from sticking but after a while always has built up gunk on it? This has a nice shiny stainless steel plate that glides smoothly over every type of material I've used it on.

The other very cool thing about this iron is the shape of the bottom. It's not like the old fashioned irons with the flat bottom plate that moved forward but not backwards very easily. This truly moves in any direction which makes a huge difference in how quickly you finish ironing a garment and get back to fun stuff. And if you want to cheat, the vertical steam feature turns this thing into a steamer so you can get away with not ironing some items at all! If the item isn't too wrinkled you can just hang it up and use the steam feature to "virtually iron" the garment. Because the iron heats up so fast it's much better than using a traditional steamer, most of which take a long time to start producing steam.

I hope this video gives you a better idea of what the iron looks like and some of the features. You can see that it's pretty simple but actually a nice improvement over the old fashioned irons. Since using this iron I'm actually looking at 100% cotton and linen clothing again!

Update 12/20/12 Still using this iron and loving it. It's worked perfectly since day one.

I was hopeful for this iron, given its unique design and wireless ability. Years ago I had another wireless iron that was bulky, time consuming, and required constant re-charging. Unfortunately, this time around my experience is the same. This iron is receiving a number of reviews in men's magazines as an iron that even men can appreciate, but that's not been my experience. The iron simply does not get hot enough for long enough to do anything but light ironing, forget about ironing the cotton shirt or jeans unless you have 30 minutes to spare per item while struggling with recharging the iron in order to achieve what can only be called intermittent steam. The design and the light weight and the integration of the cord and carrying handle are all terrific, but ultimately even an inexpensive iron at half this cost will deliver better results. However, if you iron, like, one or two shirts a week and want something that looks really cool and don't mind spending the money, then this might be the iron for you. If you want a workhorse because you do the ironing in the family, this is not the iron to buy.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program First of all, I really, really like the weight of this iron. I've compared it with another iron (no names mentioned) and the other was like lifting several bricks. However, I'd been using it for years. My arm never tires now despite the number to be pressed.

Secondly, the flexibility of this iron is amazing only a few days ago I was rearranging the cord so that the point of the iron could go into corners, collars, etc. No more. Also, ironing goes much faster now.

Another plus is the ability to regulate the steam I can regulate the amount of steam and even give a squirt of water. Now, how upscale is that? The iron heats quickly, too.

It's 100% improvement over my former iron. Thank you, Panasonic!

I LOVE this iron. I've always hated ironing, primarily because with being left handed it was extra annoying. This iron makes it so much easier. I find myself making multiple passes over the same spot of a garment because that's what I use to have to do with my old iron. But with this Panasonic, one swipe and the wrinkles are gone. And the retractable cord is a really nice feature. Highly recommend this iron.

Vupoint Magic Wand II 2 Portable Scanner with 1-Inch Color LCD Display (Pewter)

Vupoint Magic Wand II 2 Portable Scanner with 1-Inch Color LCD DisplayI do a lot of genealogy work on my ancestors and needed a hand-held scanner to record data in books and family bibles, as well as scan photographs, that I could only have access to on-site. It operates on 2 AA batteries. It comes with a SanDisk 512MB micro SD card, a USB connector for downloading scanned documents to a computer, AABBYY FineReader 9.0 OCR software for your computer (I could not get the AABBYY OCR software to work but you really do not need it to view scanned JPEG and PDF files on your computer. You will need Adobe Reader installed on your computer to read documents scanned in the PDF format), and it comes with straight-forward instructions. It allows you to scan in either JPEG or PDF formats. It allows you set the scan quality at either 300 dpi, 600 dpi or 900 dpi. It is very easy to use. You can view thumbnails of what you scan through a little window on the scanner itself but it is much better to download the scans to your computer for viewing by using the included USB connector or by removing the micro SD card from the scanner, putting it in it's regular size SD card adapter, and inserting it in your computer (assuming you have an SD card slot in the computer or have an SD card reader which can be connected to your computer).

When scanning pages from a book I found that it takes a little practice to ensure that you are actually capturing all the words across an entire page. Several initial scan attempts left me missing either the first or last word on a line for a whole page. Practice before you start your first project and if you are scanning something that you may not have access to later then immediately download your scans to your computer and verify you have the entire document.

I would have given this product 5 stars if I could have gotten the included OCR software to work, but you only need this if you want to convert text you scan to another format such as Microsoft Word.

I have used this little scanner to scan documents and other papers to store them on my computer. SO far I am satisfied with this product. The only problem I found is not being able to operate the scanner connected to a computer. So you have to trust your skills at using the scanner and hope your documents will look good.

Light, easy to use and quick. If you don't need perfect alignment of the copy, just the information on a page or paper, this works very well. But any jogging or bumps while scanning can shift text and make lines of text print skewed. Also, it does not scan and translate book covers well since it does not recognize artistic script very well. Shipping was quick and it arrived in perfect condition.

Sony PEG-S360 Clie Handheld

Sony PEG-S360 Clie HandheldI normally dont give entry level units 5 stars but this unit really has managed to separate itself as the KING of entry level units.

The 360 has replaced the 320 as Sony's entry level PDA. As i've said with my review of the m100 and m105 this would be a great gift to newbie's and students. Although it's a monochrome screen its still one of the more defined ones around. Its the only Clie thats 160X160 but its no big deal.

In terms of size its amazingly slim and light. Almost too light. Unlike the other clie's where the back is plastic and the front is a brushed aluminum finish the 360 is all plastic. None the less it still looks and feels good.

Other then the all plastic case, Sony has managed to keep costs low by not including a cradle and a memory stick.

I highly recommend this unit. To techie's and more experienced Palm users i would suggest going with other units but to newbies and students this is the unit to have.

I researched PDAs for several months, wishing to upgraded from my beloved Palm IIIxe. I wanted a Reading Machine that would do PIM things well and play occasional games.

Folks, internal memory is really important these days as PalmOS programs get bigger and you want instant access to more things (like big dictionaries, maps and the like). The 360 gives you 16mb, and with Jack Flash/Jack Sprat...you can reclaim almost 2mb of the Flash memory. If you want to keep a lot of non PIM (Personal Information Management) things on your PDA, lots of internal memory beats lots of external memory (CF/Memory Stick, etc.) where "instant access" is concerned.

The memory stick is really nice. I have a 64mb stick and I've already filled it with 2 entire encyclopedias, a 120,000+ word ditionary (dictionary--not just spell-checker), and entire Linux documentation suite, several Christian Classics, 2 versions of the Bible, maps of my state down to the unnamed street level (with driving directions). And -well, next payday, I'm getting a 128mb stick!

The unit is solid; it sits well in my hand. The flip cover, is better than I expected, but I'm getting an E&B case...any moment now.

The jogdial is wonderful for single-handed use, and the JogBack hack...turns the power-button into the back-button that Sony forgot.

The display is a bit dark, yet it displays pictures much nicer then my "lighter screened" Palm ever did (strange...). The icons are done is grayscale which is a an attractive touch. I've not used a screen protector for almost a month, and there are no scratches that I can see (and I write quite alot on it).

The speed of this display is very quick with no ghosting that I can notice, even running the included car-racing game demo. (This is in stark contrast with the T415 which has a very sluggish display, and it's much darker.)

A "soft" contrast adjustment was another thing I wanted when I moved from my IIIxe. The 360's got one, but I've not yet felt the need to change the contrast -the default setting works fine for everything. On the IIIxe, I was often adjusting the contrast to get the best view of images, games or just for reading.

The display backlight is WONDERFUL. This display is easily visible in any lighting situation from full daylight, to office, to twilight to darkness. It has an "Indiglo" light backlight that beats anything Palm has done hands-down.

I've found the buttons to be pretty decent. They are indented (even the up/down scroll button) so you can push them with the stylus. The stylus is metalic with plastic ends (one end unscrews to expose a "reset-pin"). The stylus is also bigger than the one used in the T-series.

USB hotsyncing takes a fraction of the time that it did with the serial interface on my IIIxe. However, I really miss the cradle (I didn't think I would, but it's something extra I'm going to buy).

Battery life is wonderful (the main reason I stayed away from the the T615 unit.)

The speaker is still the typical Palm squeeky-beeps, but it is noticably louder than my IIIxe.

I looked hard, and I can't recommend a better PDA for the money!

I owned a Palm M105 for 20 days, and it broke; replaced it with a Palm M100, and it broke in 27 days. Having decided I was done with Palm I scouted the Web and decided the Clie 360 would work for me. The 360 has 16 MB of RAM. I don't know any other PDA which offers that much RAM... The 360 is rechargeable. Again, who else is offering that. The 360 also has a nice, leatherette cover, excellent styling, and a substantial feeling metal stylus. The best thing about the 360 has to be the screen. It is MUCH sharper than the screen on my Palms. There are no streaks or dark spots, and the backlighting is much better. Most other PDAs reverse the screen colors which makes the wording green. This is fine in total darkness, but in a low-light situation, it just washes out. The 360 keeps the wording in black, and uses an indiglo blue behind it. It is highly readable in all lighting situations, and in fact, unless in bright sunlight I always turn the light on. Yes, this eats battery, but since the 360 is rechargeable, that is no problem. The battery in the 360 is Lithion Ion Polymer, which my friend in the cell phone industry tells me is cutting edge. Like most other Sony products, they may not invent the product, but Sony always manages to make the product better, more useful than do the other guys.

What other handheld offers such a strong combination of style and power? None, that's what.

For my first handheld as I'm about to graduate from college, I was undecided, between the Visor Neo, Palm m125 and the Clie-s360. I know I made the right choice with the Clie-s360.

The m125, at a similar price point, offers less ram, a smaller screen size, and an uglier (in my opinion) design that makes it look like a toy. The Clie-s360 has a great silverish two-tone glossy/matte look, and even though it's still a plastic case it feels solid in either hand. The Visor Neo is bulkier, less RAM, and looks and feels like a grocery store check-out line toy.

Once you've tried it, you'll find that the left thumb operated jog-dial becomes as indispensible as your mouse wheel (if you have one, that is. If not, get one!) I'm a lefty, but I still have no problem using the jog-dial to scroll through web pages on AvantGo (bundled). Only time jog-dial and lefthandedness is bad is when using the stylus, but I'm not usually scrolling when writing, so it doesn't really come up.

Tech specs are comparable with other new models, except for the fact that it's a affordable model with internal 16 MB!!! Very nice bonus for now, since few in its class can compare.

You won't be disappointed with this as you first PDA, and as an upgrade from an older PDA you'll be pleased with its design and features!

I recently sold my Palm VIIx (8 MB RAM), which served me well. I'm an undergraduate, and 16 MB is a must for new PDA photo albums, applications, and (of course) games.

I have owned the S360 for a few weeks now, and its slim design and protective cover make it very fashionable and sturdy. The only drawback with the S360 is Sony's inablity to include a CRADLE. The S360 comes with separate USB cradle and recharge adapter cables. I cannot simultaneously recharge and sync the S360.

3M Gold Privacy Filter-3M GPF19.0W Widescreen Monitor Privacy Screen (16:10)

3M Gold Privacy Filter-3M GPF19.0W Widescreen Monitor Privacy ScreenThe place I work at has open office policy. One can stand in one corner and see everyone's computer screen. This filter is great for giving privacy from certian angle. The reason it is not rated 5 is becuase my screen is still visible from wide angle. But it blocks most of the side angles. It has a nice hue from the side. I have had many people do a double take when they walk by me. Everyone thinks it is fancy due to Golden hue.

Overall, I am satisfied with this filter. Another great product from 3M.

Bought this screen & been using it for over a year. Quality is good however, IMHO its a waste.

Viewing angle are quite accurate when the claim 30deg.. it is.. unfortunately it is not suitable for my use.

The Glare is unbearable does come in hand if u want to keep an eye who is sneaking up on you

Not good!

Great product. I have had a few people tell me about how amazing this screen is. Initially i didn't want to front the extra buck, but I am so happy I did. Supreme privacy and style. The only downside is the not so pretty way of keeping the screen against the monitor screen.

The company that brought us post-it notes, scotch tape, and so many other great products has now delivered an excellent way to safeguard confidential data, passwords, and other personal information. This quality, American-made product works great and installation is quite easy! I would definitely recommend this for anyone who deals with confidential information or needs privacy when using his or her laptop.

PROS:

+ beautiful opaque gold color when "out of range" (reminds me of solar visor on astronaut helmets)

+ 4 way privacy: privacy filter appears when too far right, too far left, too far up, and too far down

+ easy installation (instructions below)

+ provides protection from dust

+ high quality

+ American made

CONS:

expensive in absolute terms

only one person can look at laptop screen at a time

installation tabs may take away from the "sleek appeal" of the laptop

INSTALLATION:

1) clean laptop screen with microfiber cloth

2) tear apart installation tabs at perforated area

3) remove backing from the long tabs

4) put one long tab on lower-left side of laptop and one on lower-right so that they hang over the edge where the laptop screen starts (there should be some room between where the tab hangs over and the laptop screen this will be where you fit the filter)

5) put one short tab on upper-left side of laptop and one on upper-right so that they hang over the edge where the laptop screen starts

6) put one short tab on bottom, left side of laptop and one on bottom, right so that they hang over the edge where the laptop screen starts

7) slide filter between the space between the tabs and the screen BEING CAREFUL NOT TO SCRATCH YOUR LAPTOP SCREEN

8) (optional) put one short tab on top, left side of laptop and one on top, right so that they hang over the edge where the laptop screen starts

9) enjoy your new-found privacy!
