This is supposed to be a wireless device that let's you serf the web, when in actuality it is nothing more than a pager. You send web inquirys, and it sends back a reply, then you have to send another... get the point. An absolute worthless device, with the limitation of 100,000 characters a month you run into the maximum rather quickly. If you have a cell phone just get a cable to connect it to a modem and your off. It's cheeper...

This springboard module is pretty good, but you've got to check which paging service your specific module will work with. For instance, since I own a Skytel module I am only able to use Skytel service. That means you can't price shop for service at all. You are limited to whichever company your module is preprogrammed for. Hopefully this is some useful information if your considering buying one. It only costs about [money]/month for email service on your PDA which is a pretty good deal, considering I can use my email service pretty much where ever I like.

PU Leather Folio Multi 360 Degree Angle Stand Up Case Cover For Samsung Galaxy TAB 7.7 Wi-Fi GT-P68

The cover is nice and it fits my Samsung 7.7 Galaxy perfect and I really like the swivel back. The only thing I didn't care for is the elastic closure is weak compared to the one I purchased for my IPad. I am not sure how long it is going to last before it wears out. All in all I would purchase it again.

This is one of 5 different covers/cases I have purchased. None actually meet my requirements. I am looking for a combination case and wallet.

I was really uncomfortable with the system to hold the tablet in the case. Strongly suspect that if it were dorpped while the case is open, that the tablet would pop out of the holder.

I am currently planning to graft the holder from Poetic (TM) Stand Leather Case with Handstrap on to this to get a more secure tablet holder with the swivel capability.

PalmOne V Stylus (3-Pack)

I bought these babies the same day that i bought my Vx. I thought that it would have been a good investment counsidering how small the styli are. Considering my penchant for misplacing things, particularly pens, i thought i should go ahead and get them. For some strange reason, I've only lost one in 6 months and that was the one that came with the unit. In that aspect one pack of these replacement stylus should last you a while.

However if you can get other replacement styli that can fit the silo i suggest you go that way. The replacement styli dont seem to fit the silo as well as the original one. It doesnt fit right. After a little investigation i found that the plastic tip (the part that can unscrew) is slightly larger in circumference then the original stylus. Thats why it seems a little tight when you take the it out and put it back. Why this is, i have no clue but it's really annoying.

For anything else you can get these babies to preserve the continuity of the unit, otherwise i recommend you find another replacement stylus that can fit the silo.

Personally though i dont use the stylus. I recommend you go get one of those multi-pens that have a stylus, pen and pencil all in one. All serious Palm users use one of these instruments simply because any type of prolong use of the stock stylus will certainly give you cramps, at the very least. Its like writing with a toothpick. If you anticipate that your going to be scribling on your palm a lot go get a multipen. Cross makes a good one, Lamy and Rotring also makes excellent multipens. Personally i use a Rotring black matte Trio-pen. It carries a blue pen, stylus and pencil. Its a great size, weight and looks incredibly cool.

Again if you anticipate scribling alot on your palm, i strongly recommend getting a multi-pen. However if you dont think you will be the stock stylus will suffice.

Your Palm V probably came with two -one metal with plastic ends and a hidden pin to reset your palm, and one all plastic. These are exact replacements for the metal stylus that came with your Palm. That's about it!

For the price it seemed like a good idea to have them around just in case. You can also keep a spare in each car, or whatever.

Although the replacement pack seems quite reasonable i did find that they dont fit into the silo as easy as the original one. Im not sure why this is the case but for some strange reason it doesnt fit comfortably. But even if it did, i dont recommend getting it. If your serious about being a PDA user, i recommend getting a multipen with a stylus tip. Those work much much better

This stylus's tip seems to be of a harder plastic than that of the Palm III's (the one with a silver metal body and grey plastic ends). Having just switched from III to V, the difference was dramatic. I have spares of the III type at my desk -it's quicker to just grab that than pull the Palm's one out, and I won't forget to put it back.

I'm afraid of wearing down my Palm's sensor surface, so am shopping for a "softer" stylus for the V. (The V's are a touch slimmer, so my spare stylii won't fit its holder.)

The styli are of sufficient quality for me to be satisfied with them (= they work), but I have two complaints about this product :

The product is said to be "same as stylus provided with product" and a "genuine Palm quality product". It is neither. These styli do not fit the silo perfectly and the screws at the top and bottom are badly made, in contrast to the perfect screws and silo fitting of those that were provided with the product.

The price is excessive. Why should a simple piece of mass produced plastic cost over three U.S.$s, especially considering the mediocre quality of the product ?

I have an iPod touch 4th Gen. I'm also an artist, and sometimes I can't always bring a pad and pencil with me. I do have thick fingers, but the touch typing isn't that difficult for me. However, I have been looking for a decent stylus that I can doodle with. I bought one that wasn't too expensive, but it was flat and just a generic stylus. Meh. Then I spent 15 bucks on one specifically marketed as a 'sketch stylus' for ipod and ipad. It totally blew. I saw this stylus on the daily deals and gave it a shot. It is the BEST stylus I've ever tried. It has a plastic/rubber tip (instead of that weird foam type tip), and it's very sensitive. I can draw with not only minimal pressure, but can actually get surprisingly tight detail given the workspace. I haven't even tried it for typing yet, but I'd imagine it'd be excellent given it's accuracy and sensitivity. I think this stylus would be worth it at twice the price easily.

I recently purchased a Kindle Fire my first venture into the Kindle arena.

I have to admit I was a bit disappointed. I seemed to have to "punch" the face of the Kindle to get it to react. Pushing lightly just didn't work. If things were very close together, only luck got me to the area I wanted.

While researching accessories, I noticed styli. I liked the styling of this one and its price. You'll be happy to know the vendor is a speedy shipper.

I have purchased many rubber tipped styluses for my devices and I was disappointed by this stylus as I expected more from Belkin. If this is the very first stylus you've bought you might be pleased as styli do make it easier on hands and make navigation easier. However, if you've had some experience with other brands you will not be impressed.

All rubber tipped styluses eventually lose their responsiveness and become a little "sticky" on the surface after some use, with some drag. So I purchased this stylus to update my Targus stylus Targus Stylus for Apple iPad, iPad 2, new iPad (3rd Generation), 16GB, 32GB, 64GB WiFi + 4G, iPhone, iPod, Tablet AMM01US (Black), which looks very similar and had started developing drag after some months of use. However, using it on my Kindle and iPad I found that this stylus is much less responsive than the Targus even though this is new.

Some rubber tipped styluses are better for navigation and clicking which are usually the thicker tipped stylus (8mm)and some others are better for writing and sketching like the Bamboo Stylus and the Alupen Stylus and come with a thinner rubber tip (6mm) and are usually more expensive. So I wasn't planning to use this stylus for writing or sketching for prolonged period of time and yes it's very slow for writing or sketching. But at the very least I expected this stylus to be great at just surfing on the Kindle Fire and iPad, but found that it does not even outperform the cheaper generic type brands like Fosmon Fosmon Black Capacitive Stylus Touch Screen Pen (4 Pack) Works with Kindle Fire, Samsung Galaxy S3, the New iPad 3, iPhone 4/4S, Motorola XOOM, Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 & Most Smartphones or Tablets which are available in a 4 pack for a lower price.

I will be returning this stylus to get another brand many of them are available for the same price.

I've had to use a leather belt holster for this phone and didn't like it. I hate listening to other's cell phone ring tones, so I to avoid annoying others I keep mine on vibrate. With the leather holster, the vibrate isn't strong enough to be felt many times. With this I have no problems. I've always been able to find the plastic holsters for my previous phones, but had to wait two years to finally find one for this one. This holster is great. If I had to pick something I didn't like about it I'd have to say it has the ability to swivel which I don't care for, although I'm sure many others do like. So again, this one is great!

Seidio SURFACE Case for AT&T HTC Fuze - Black

This case comes in two pieces, one of which is a small frame that snaps on to the front of the Fuze, and the other is a larger piece the snaps on the back and up the side of the keyboard. The plastic is a hard plastic with minimal flexibility, although it is not slippery, as in the phone will not slide right off a surface as the normal Fuze exterior will. It is a dull finish and always looks clean (no fingerprints). A minor visual negative is that you can no longer see the cool back pattern from the Fuze.

The fit of the two pieces is nearly perfect. The front snapped on very easily. The back, which comes with a thin piece of felt lining the back, did not fit well enough on my Fuze. It seems the felt provided just a little too much thickness. I simply peeled the piece of felt out (and all of the adhesive behind it!!). Afterwards the back snapped on just fine. The pieces are not in danger of falling off easily. I have to say I am very impressed with the fit. Four foot falls on low pile carpet and the case stays on without a problem. I have not attempted more daring tests. That said, since it is a slim-fitting case, I wonder how much drop protection it provides. At the very least, you'll come out scratch-free.

The thickness of the case is as advertised, and does not bother me. Some may be concerned that the menu dropdown in the upper right screen is harder to press with a case on the Fuze, but in this situation, the case edge is 2mm away from the edge of the actual screen. The side buttons are easily accessible. The USB cord can still be used without removing the case. The stylus is slightly harder to remove.

Overall, I've been disappointed with so many cell phone/pda cases over the years that in the end I rarely end up using more than a screen protector. Although this case is a bit more money than many, I highly recommend it because it looks good and fits very well. I will stick with Seidio products for my future mobiles.

I purchased the Seidio Innocase case thinking I was buying the top of the line, or at least the most expensive case. Even after very gentle use the tabs on the case that hold the case to the phone start to break off. So after about 6 months the case was no longer usable. There are similar cases that are as cheap as $0.95 on Amazon, so I couldn't justify what Seidio asks for this case. SAVE YOUR MONEY.

There's really not much I can add to review that hasn't already been written. I just think that if you have a Fuze, you already know that it's a fingerprint magnet. Why HTC made the phone so glossy, I'll never know. And for that alone, you need to purchase this case. Once attached, the case adds almost negligible weight or bulk. It's rubberized texture makes it much easier to maintain your grip. It actually reminds me of the Incase hard cover for my Macbook. The case is masterly designed; it's almost as if HTC made the case themselves. One small caveat: the top cover's left side lifts up a little too easily, IMO. If you notice where the side volume keys are, you can see that the top case is thinly designed around it. I think that this where the case looks most breakable. It if were only designed to reach just about half a centimeter closer to the keys, it wouldn't lift as easily. I worry that over time, that piece will break off. This has yet to happen to me, but it's something I could foresee happening.

Tabletop Multi-port Charging Station for the Apple iPhone 4 - Clean design charges up to four devic

I purchased a charging station directly from Gomadic, rather than from Amazon, as I wanted to pick my own device tips. My purchase included 2 tips for iPhones/iPods, as well as tips for my Blackberry, video camera, Kindle and TomTom.

The charging station looks as nice as you can expect for this type of product. While it's not something I'd give pride of place in the living room, it is much more attractive than a rat's nest of cables plugged into a power strip. I liked the interchangeability of the tips, as DH and I have multiple iPhones, iPods and Kindles. I also liked that this came with adaptors for other countries, as I could see us taking just the AC adapter and a bunch of tips if we go to Europe (or anywhere else).

Everything worked really well until I tried to charge my iPhone 3GS. When I plugged the tip into it, the phone wouldn't charge. If you have an iPhone, you know that when you plug it in it makes a sound and the screen lights up nothing like that happened with the tip. I tried both of the tips for the iPhones, as well as both of our iPhones nothing. These tips worked just fine with both of my iPods (classic, not touch), so I knew it wasn't the tips. I also took the AC adaptor and a tip into the office and tried plugging it into my colleagues iPhone 4s again, nothing happened.

I contacted Gomadic tech support. They emailed me back pretty quickly, but they had no solution and recommended that I return the product for a refund, which I've done.

I don't want to say that Gomadic is misleading people about whether it's tip actually works with an iPhone. All I can say is that I tried four different phones and got no results, and their support people didn't seem to have any suggestions about how to make it work. You can draw your own conclusions.

I had the first generation. Saw this, compact size, assumed there would be some minor improvements. Actually a step back in some areas in my honest opinion

CONS

Biggest hassle is the base that your devices lay on is not fixed. It is "cradled" in top of the station and constantly moves and slips

Construction is more flimsy and is made of thin, cheap plastic.

Power cables are long, but not in individual channels and constantly become entangled with each other

PROS

There is a storage department under the base where you can store all of your tips (prevents them wandering, or being misplaced)

Long cables allow you to place bigger devices off to the side of the charging station

Bottom Line: Some pros, some cons. Gets the job done and sure beats having all of those individual chargers around

Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 Inch P7300 P7310 Detachable 360° Rotating Case & Cover | BUNDLE |w/ Multi A

I recently bought a used Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9. Ordered the Detachable 360 Rotating case. The case is extremely functional and fits snug. Great positions using the built in slots to slant the tablet against. Tablet comes with its own protective case.

2 place you might want to pay attention to if the following is an issue. Samsung 8.9 tablet on its own is very thin and light weight.

The tablet inserted into this case definitely makes it look like a book and a bulky.

Rotation 360 (yes but not quite)

I had however thought that the rotating meant some sort of plastic groove mechanism that would seamlessly rotate 360 degree.

The real downside here is that it is just a velcro backing. Not sure how long that would last and in that respect it is not easy to change positing on the fly. To change position you would have to tear rip the velcro bind of the tablet case from the outer shell and position it in portrait or landscape.

Also when positioned landscape, attention needs to be paid to line up the inner case and outer shell so that rear camera port holes line up flush.

Apart from the above i would highly recommend this case for protection and ease of use with three different slanting grooves. Also it ships with a separate screen protector and stylus. Good value for money.

this case has an attractive appearance and well made. i like the 360 degree rotating feature however i wish the rotation could occur with a dial versus the Velcro.

The case fits well and seems it will protect the device from a short drop. I didn't give it 5 stars becauce the stylist that comes with it isn't stored away neetly. It just plugs into the ear jack port and hangs there from a small cord. Also when taking pictures you need to be sure the lens is clear, the case can slightly block its view. Not a real problem though with a slight adjustment of the case.

Really nice quality case. Protects your tablet while also providing a stand for both portrait and landscape orientation.

The case is actually two cases in one, in that the inner case part is held in place by Velcro (whole backside of the inner case)

to the stand part. You can take out the inner case and flip for portrait mode (Velcro it back to the stand part) or just open and

adjust (3 positions) in landscape mode (default). The stand part wraps around the inner case part like a Book cover, really

protecting it, and also has a cutout for the back camera to still work.

I really like the case but for prolonged use while reading in portrait orientation (you can wrap the stand part around the back of

the case) it is a little heavy with both case parts (inner case and stand). So you can just take out the inner case from the Velcro

of the stand part and it cuts the weight of the case down (by about half) while still protecting your tablet. The inner case also

has cutouts for both the front and back cameras. Great case, well made should last for years. Would recommend.

Acer Aspire V3-771G-9809 17.3-Inch Laptop (Black)

I will keep it brief and simple. I was hesitant at first when I got this laptop but I got it at a great deal.

It's huge, so get a big laptop backpack to lug it. Yet it is not heavy. Just long. May not fit in standard 17" business bags.

Features not always mentioned. It has 2 hard drive bays. Comes with a 1 tb drive, but supports sata III Solid state drives at the same time. Pop in a solid state, and you will be extremely happy.

It has 2 GPU's. the HD 4000 and the Nvidia 650m. Do NOT go by benchmark sites. I have done by own benchmarks, and clearly most of the previous that did early reviews, did so without setting the benchmark programs into the NVidia list, so they in fact benchmarked the HD4000 gpu, not the 650m. Most of todays models with this mobile chip have both from various manufactures, the HD4000 is meant to save power consumption, the GT650m for high end gaming.

The screen is clear. THe only gripe is the resolution is not full 1080p (without a tweak) Close however. Some games may not have this res, so you will have to use a tweak, or if you play via HDMI, it will support full higher 1080p out to a HDTV.

Has a lot of Acer soft you may not need, uninstall or disable if that is the case.

I plays Battlefield 3 at highest levels, buttery smooth.

Wifi is sensitive and reliable.

Plays the Final Fantasy XIV ALpha nice an smooth at high settings.

Got mine today.. Just an amazing product from ACER.. Nice alluminium finish.. cool glossy looks (one drawback here is fingerprint & dust can be noticed easily)but a totally bundled package and POWERFUL machine. You get looks and performance both.

Buy Acer Aspire V3-771G-9809 17.3-Inch Laptop (Black) Now

First I have to tell you that I didn't buy this laptop on Amazon. I would have, had I not found it on a different site during a week long sale on this model. The sale is long over. I did find the reviews on Amazon helpful and wanted to add my own. Having said that, I spent about 2 weeks doing research on laptops because I wanted a desktop replacement that ran specific games reasonably well. Originally I wanted to purchase an Acer V3-571 series but, all other things being equal, a few things changed my mind and made me buy this model. 1) This laptop has an extra hard drive slot that I can use for a 256gb SSD 2) An extra USB 3.0 port 3) Better screen resolution.

Pros:

i7 processor will not become obsolete for a couple of years at least.

That extra slot for an SSD (I haven't got around to installing it yet).

The GT 650m graphics card isn't the top of the line but it is very good (more on this later, see gaming).

The internal fan is very good. It pumps out a ton of heat which means the insides are cool. I have been using it for gaming and haven't felt the top or bottom of the unit become warm let alone hot. Initially I was concerned about this because I read a few reviews about this laptop becoming hot but I'm thinking it could have been a problem with those individual units because mine does not have this problem at all. I bought a nice cooling pad but it's just sitting in it's box.

The price. Even at the non sale price I'm looking at now this thing is a bargain for the performance you're getting. Yes it has a few things that I would like to be different but I'm not willing to spend $2,000 for perfection.

Cons:

OK first thing, I read reviews about the short battery life. People claimed sub 2 hours. They must have been talking about writing documents or sending email because if you are gaming off the battery you're looking at 45 minutes on a full charge.

Not the fastest hard drive but if you plan on upgrading to SSD and using the 1TB hard drive for songs or videos it won't matter.

Big. But you already know that. This thing really should be used as a portable desktop. Be sure to bring the power supply with you.

I read reviews about the glossy finish on the unit... Holy fingerprints Batman! I knew it was going to be bad but I wasn't prepared for the reality lol. Have a chamois handy, you'll need it.

Gaming:

I think many of you, like me, want to do some gaming. Here is my experience.

World of Warcraft on ultra settings 40-60 FPS, this will drop in raids. High settings 80+ FPS and no problem handling raids.

Guild Wars 2 high settings 40-60 FPS. If you do PvP with a ton of people around you it will have to be set to mostly med with a few high settings. Then expect 30-60 FPS depending on how cluttered the screen is.

Planetside 2 Absolutely smooth on high settings. I did get some stutters in heavy action but I had other programs running in the background.

Hope that gives you guys some ideas for gaming performance. Make sure to set the GT 650m card as the default for your games because the HD4000 in the machine will run them but not nearly as well.

Bottom Line: For what I paid for this thing I am extremely happy and I think you will be too.

I read all of the reviews specifically on this laptop on Amazon and Newegg and both places had people having problems with the wifi connection dropping randomly. I called Acer support for help, and while the man I talked to was hard to understand, he helped me update my wireless lan drivers through the website. It was so simple! I don't know why people are hating on this laptop so much when the issue could be resolved so easily.

I can see why some people don't like Windows 8. Most of the apps don't make sense because of the lack of a touch screen on this laptop. Other than the fact that the start button is missing, the user interface is nice. I realize that I hardly used the start button anyway. You can still get to the command and search functions by pressing windows button + X. It's not that hard to get used to!

Pros:

I love that the keyboard keys all have a little bit of space in between them, the arrow keys are independent of the shift button (I've had a laptop that had the shift button right next to the up arrow button on another laptop and it was terrible, this laptop however, does not have this problem), and that there is a number keypad. The speakers are located above the keyboard and the sound quality is wonderful. The battery life is excellent. I've played 2 long games of League of Legends before having to plug it back in. That's about 2 hours of gaming, which exceeded my expectations. I also play Diablo III and various Steam games on this laptop and it runs everything with ease.

Cons:

Sometimes when I pick up the laptop, I accidentally open the CD drive because the eject button is sort of on the underside of the opening. The caps lock button has no light indicator.

Overall, I am very pleased with my purchase. This is a high quality laptop for an affordable price. I'm glad I gave it a chance despite of what I knew about the wifi problems.

This is a great laptop with very good performance for the price. I use it more as a portable desktop, so I won't comment on battery life as I usually have it plugged in. The only reason I won't give it 5 stars is the Windows 8 operating system is horrible on a device like this. I could understand its usefulness if there was a touch screen, but still I'm not a fan of Windows 8. I attempted to call Acer to see if I could downgrade to Windows 7, but they told me that it was not supported. I also called Microsoft to see if they would allow the downgrade, but they too denied me. I ended up moving a previous Windows 7 license to this machine and have had no problems (though Acer warned me that it may violate my warranty).

For the price, I think this keyboard is worth it. It is hard to find a small, portable keyboard for an HTPC that gets everything right. They are, by design, a compromise of features. This particular one falls short in the placement of the trackpad. Also, the trackpad is either too small or not sensitive enough. We find out selves very frustrated whenever we need to use it. The only other inconvenience is that the natural position of your left index finger seems to randomly block transmission of key presses. Otherwise, this keyboard gets te job done while being small, light and out of the way.

perfect device for my ep121 slate... fast keyboard, great response. bluetooth connection works great and easy to reconnect. my favorite feature is the ctrl and shift on both sides of the spacebar.

I bought this to use with my ASRock HTPC. It works well provided you are sitting close (6 feet or less). The limited range is a major weakness in this product. If this point was addressed this would make a great little mini keyboard. Buy only if you are not too far from your computer & do not need a lot of keystrokes or mouse use.

Pandigital Hand-Held Wand Scanner S8X1100

Be careful, this is not the same product that is advertised. It is very similar but is not the same -it is weird because it says it is Pandigital but the model is Sunglow S8X1100. I found out online that the product is this one: It looks like Sunglow bought Pandigital in September.

I tested it with several pictures and they are ok, but far from high quality. I am returning this right away. Will contact the seller to get a clarification.

Replaced the one I've had for two years. It worked great and scanned thousands of photos and documents. Lived a good life, but I think it was a natural death, just worn out. Can't live without a scanner like this even though my printer will also scan.

Rii Tek Rii Mini I6 2.4g Wireless Keyboard w/Touchpad, white

First, I'll start with the bad. If your considering buying this because the description says it is also a laser pointer, don't because as far as I can tell this device does NOT have that capability. This product is made by Riitek, you can goto their website it's simply wwwdotriitekdotcom. After poking around there I found that the company DOES make a product that includes a laser pointer. but this isn't that. This is the RT-MWK06. The model that includes a laser pointer is the RT-MWK01. It's also unfortunate that a lot of similar devices on amazon also seem to market theirs as having laser pointers and I'm not sure they do.

Anyway, for me it's not really an issue because I didn't need a laser pointer, but truthfully if I had I'd be pretty upset right now and angry that I would have to be returning the product to try and find one that actually included the functionality they claim it does in their product title!

So, the good... As far as the keyboard/remote are concerned so far I have to say I'm pretty happy with this. Granted I've only had it for a day so far so I can't yet answer things like longevity or battery life, but having read other reviews on amazon for the same product under different sellers it seems the battery is pretty good.

Overall comments:

1. The device is small, even after looking at the pictures, It still blew me away how small it is. It is literally the size of an iphone 4, only say 1.5 inches longer, otherwise that should give you a good idea of it's size.

2. The keyboard. Is surprisingly good. I wouldn't want to type up a long document on this, but for basic usage it is more than adequate. I am using a Mac Mini running OSX Lion and while it could not identify the keyboard type when I first plugged it in, it seems to be working just fine. Some of the keys don't seem to work; there are volume and playback keys avail, which I imagine would work in Windows, but don't on my mac, but the keys that matter do work. Tabbing between Windows on mac (cmd-tab) is acheived by hitting fn-ctrl-tab, a bit akward but it works. I did set my mac to use the f5-f8 keys for launchpad, app windows, show desktop, show dashboard which make things easier with this keyboard, so despite it not working 100% with a mac, it's definately good enough.

3. The trackpad. Again, it's damn small, but honestly it gets the job done. I did have to tweak up the sensitivy a bit, but otherwise it works just fine. I will say for more advanced tasks like drag/drop it might get old if you have to do too much of that at once, but I found no problems using it, just have to recognize that as a very small trackpad and buttons it is a tad awkward trying to hold down the left mouse button as you drag with your finger.

4. The Remote. There is no way to enter codes into it to program it. You need to use your existing remotes to teach it each key, which in a way is actually better (unless of course you've lost that remote). Overall this too gets the job done for me. What I REALLY needed was a way to turn the volume up/down on my stereo and turn my tv on/off I was able to program it to do all of that. I don't see being able to replace a remote if you have more advanced needs, like a DVR. It would have been nice if they'd included a few additional buttons, like rewind/pause/stop/play/forward etc so you could do basic controls of things like DVD/BlueRay/DVR devices. I suppose with a blue-ray you could largely acheive that, but with a DVR you really can't as the nav buttons are separate actions from playback control. It's unfortunate too because the remote "side" of this device is mostly just unused space, they could easily include more buttons to be programmed without adding to the cost too much.

5. Range. My room is not huge, I probably sit about 8 feet from my TV, give or take a foot, but I've so far had no problems with the range. This specific model comes with a USB 2.4 Ghz dongle you plug into a USB port in your computer. The good thing about these is they aren't directional, so you don't have to point this device at your computer for it to work (the remote side IS directional, but that's par for the course). I was seriously on the fence between the USB 2.4 Ghz and the Bluetooth version, but after reading a couple of reviews for the bluetooth version and people complaining about connection issues, I deciided to play it safe with the USB 2.4 Ghz. I've had an Adeso USB full-size wireless keyboard for a while now and have had no issues with connectivity.

My final comment is with regard to how it works as a media-center controller, specifically in my case XBMC. In this area I would say it falls in the middle. It DOES work, so that much is good, but I was surprised to find that the left mouse button does not behave in XBMC as an "enter" or affirmative action, but seems oddly in most cases to be more akin to a backup or cancel action. So I have been forced to use the arrow keys and the enter key, but it's something I'm willing to live with, and one could say I'm even splitting hairs.

So, overall I think for the price I paid for this device it was well worth it and it gets my fullsize keyboard off my coffee table, which definately makes my wife happy, plus this lets me go from 2 remotes down to 1 remote most of the time.

I purchased this controller, thinking I could play games on my Nexus 7 with it. I had problems where the device would sometimes connect, and not others. I was going to return it when I realized it was PC compatible. In about five minutes of setup, I had Big Picture Steam working perfectly.

Since android has no real standard for controllers you usually have to rely on app developers to integrate controller support. This is no problem for this controller! Android actually picks it up as a controller and it is fully usable. Since it has 4 other compatibility modes its almost garunteed to work and is future proof for android updates. This is a charm with emulators with keyboard mode. Its a little finicky connecting it and switching modes but I assume that's a Bluetooth limitation. The quality is really nice, has an xbox360s matte finish with the feel of the ps3s buttons. If you're looking for a controller, buy this one. Its absolutely worth it!
