This is not a thin case, it does add a lot of bulk when carrying your macbook around but for what it's worth it adds A LOT of protection. PalmOne V Travel Kit

This travel kit takes too much space. If you would like to connect your Palm V or Vx to two computers, I suggest you either buy another cradle, or pack your cradle. A cradle takes up as much space as this travel kit, and it's better. Remember you can also hot sync through the infrared port if you have a computer with an infrared port, but this drains the batteries a lot.

the sync cable is very low profile. the charger is separate so you can bring just the sync cable for short trips or the charger for longer trips (the tranformer adjusts to different voltage and comes with adapters plugs for use in other countries).

i find this kit very useful... more so than my cradle since this is more flexible in usage; i wish they would also sell the sync cable by itself. my biggest complaint (and yes, i agree it is more expensive than it should be) is that the sync cable connector (the piece that is inserted into the Palm) is exposed and does not come with a sleeve/protector.

This kit is worth the money. It is compact and stores easily in the bag included with the kit. In turn, the bag stores easily in a laptop briefcase. The instruction booklet leaves a little to be desired. But the product itself is much smaller than the cradle, and much easier to store. It is easy to use. The charger comes in handy, and the multiple adapters need be carried only for the countries in which one travels. Definitely worth the investment.

I recently went to Australia and completely forgot that I would have to charge my Palm. The voltage there is 220 and the plugs are definitely different. Sure enough, one of those little pieces that I kept in the bottom of the handy drawstring bag fit perfectly. Just when I was about to panic, I had all I needed. The power supply doesn't require that you get a *transformer* as well as a converter. So that's a big plus.

Sony Dash HID-C10 Internet Surfing Device

Do NOT buy this product as it's apparently end-of-life! Yet another device that had promise only to be ruined by Sony's

mismanagment. The Dash is (was?) a luxury alarm clock developed by a company named Chumby who also produced models of their

own. Some months ago, Chumby decided to exit the business and allowed their own devices to be released from the central

managed service with a firmware update. Rather than following suit, Sony decided to take on servicing the Dash by moving

the service to it's own in-house servers. They also shut down the developer service earlier in the year while continuing to

maintain that the service itself would continue. They continued to sell the product on their own website up until a few

weeks ago.

For weeks now Dash owners have suffered random outages (including the device as well as the Dash management website) with

no explanation from Sony other than canned repsonses. Even those (useless) responses have now stopped and any comments on

the Sony forum pointing out the now solid outage of service are being deleted. Let me be clear that a service outage turns

the Dash into a brick... it is completely useless and simply shows error messages on startup (just what you want from a

device many use to wake up in the morning).

This is not the first time Sony has left customers in the cold and it shows a clear pattern of disinterest in true customer

service. The fact that Sony has consistantly lost millions of dollars per quarter over the past several years shows that

consumers have had enough of this policy and are leaving Sony in droves for companies that value their customers. So you

don't want to support the Dash service anymore? How about opening it up to the homebrew community like Chumby did for

future development, or BUYING US OUT. No one who bought a Dash for upwards of $75 (many over $100 or even $150) did so

thinking it would be useless in a year or even a month for some. It's incredibly disrespectful to the customer base.

The worst part of all of this? Not only did the device, in my opinion, have the potential to single-handedly take over the

vast majority of the alarm clock market if properly marketed/priced, but it was also rather intuitive to use and quite

versatile. It's all been a poignant lesson on trusting any cloud service, even ones associated with companies that have

plenty of resources to run them properly. In this case, it appears that they simply choose not to follow through. Never

again Sony.

People are expecting too much out of this device. It's not an ipad. It's a glorified alarm clock with apps. It is a great alarm clock that keeps time even after the power goes out. Most clocks would lose time but not this device it automatically reconnects to the router to reset time. I love listening to Pandora on it. The speakers are plenty powerful to rock out while playing some video games. Also there are 1000's of apps to download with many categories to cover. You can either look at them when you want or have them cycle through on a predestined loop. The touchscreen is responsive and it has a nice looking screen for watching videos. This is not a tablet. But this is exactly what I needed or wanted. I really enjoy internet radio and I wanted something for my home office where I do most of my sewing. It's the perfect size, it was really easy to set up, I can watch my Netflix on here while I'm working, I can listen to Pandora or Slacker or TuneIn radio while I work.

I have a number of little apps on here that come in handy. I press the menu and hey there's the weather in a snap for the location I need it. I read my NPR headlines on here, I get a word of the day. My son can sit and play a few a games while he waits for me to finish a project.

This could make a decent alarm clock, waking you up and providing you with all the instant news or weather info you need.

This was super easy to set up. If you want to set up Pandora on the Dashboard you need to go to Sony and enter a code to transfer the account to your Dashboard, but so far that was the only account that was 'tricky' to set up. If you want a news station on your desk, in your family room perhaps in your kitchen this could be great for you. If you want an inexpensive way to listen to internet radio, this could be your answer. You want a really fancy alarm clock, go for it. It's easy to use and navigate, it has fun apps, and I like it, it was what I expected and what I wanted.

This device is FANTASTIC!

I am using this as a digital photo frame, wireless internet radio streamer, mp3 player, weather station, sports scoreboard, news and information provider and Netflix viewer!

I have the device connected to my wireless home network, and it has maintained a good connection for the several weeks I've had it. The LCD touchscreen is sharp and clear, and the unit is nicely built and sturdy.

I use this as an alarm clock that provides personal and customized internet at my fingertips when I wake up each morning. The price is a little steep but the convenience factor and the great updates make it worth it for me.

This unit needs to be plugged into an outlet and your house needs to have WI-FI SET UP for it to work properly. The Dash is not a portable unit! even if the photos seem to suggest it. It comes with popular ones preloaded (Facebook, twitter, CNBC, etc.) and to access more apps (NY Times, Netflix, Amazon on Demand, Pandora, Slacker, homebrewed), you need to register online. There are plenty of cool apps to browse through and new ones are constantly added. I cannot comment on using it around the house as a "personal internet viewer" as advertised since I do not need it to provide that function but I could see it working well in a kitchen. I sometimes play videos and music understanding that the video source determines quality and the speakers are basic and okay but not outstanding. Since I use it as an alarm clock, the speaker quality is not an issue for me. There is no memory card slot but there is an usb port. They recently added a "WWW' button on the menu which allows for easy connection to yahooo.com, goggle.com and sony.com homepages only, for now. The updates are amazing and the Sony Dash keeps getting better and better the longer I have it (going on 1 year).

The two beefs I had with the Dash have been fixed: (1) I had trouble getting it to display the correct time zone but this was addressed by very helpful Sony customer reps.; and (2) instructions to press snooze button twice to access menu was spotty and took several attempts but was advised to use one long touch to access menu and that works every time. The only remaining issues are that the touch keyboard can be tricky (people with large fingers or long fingernails will have a problem with the small keyboard). Despite these minor irritants, I think this is the best alarm clock ever!

I use this strictly as a bedside alarm clock with super benefits. The light given off is adjustable with a nighttime mode easily reached at the press of an onscreen button (moon icon) and you can even put it into a black sleep mode for a perfect night's sleep if you require complete darkness. The unit has a 7" screen and the ability to customize it. The set background colors change throughout the day which is pretty cool. Granted, it takes a little work to set this puppy up but once it's running, it's a thing of beauty. I love being able to set several different alarms (weekday AM, bus pick-up, weekend AM, soccer practice, etc.) and be able to set them to different alarm types (regular alarm sounds, radio, videos, personal messages, etc.). I can program my local weather, get top news headlines, music, video or any other of the 100s of apps it boasts and at the touch of the screen -view them when I roll over in the morning. It's a brilliant way to start the day!

This full-size portable keyboard from Belkin has a very clever design. The keyboard is broken into three sections -and the middle section rises up when the outer two sections are spread apart. They then click together and remain rigid -which is great for typing on one's lap like a notebook PC.

There's a full row of numbers across the top. And the space bar is unbroken (unlike the Palm Ultrathin keyboard which splits the space bar into two). The only gripe I have with the keyboard layout is the right shift key, which is very small and out to the right (just beyond the up/down and left/right navigation keys), which I sometimes miss-hit when I'm typing very quickly.

The unit is very compact when completely folded. It's not quite as thin (or as cool looking) as the new Palm Ultrathin keyboard, but it is much sleeker than the original Palm keyboard (which now seems clunky by comparison).

If you're looking for one keyboard to do it all -have a real row of numbers and be extremely portable this unit from Belkin is a very good choice!

I just received this keyboard for my palm t3 and it works great. however, there is just 1 issue that would make this perfect, at least for me. The spacebar could have been more centered than it's now. looking at the keyboard, there is really no reason why the "alt" key needs to be on the right of space bar, which is pushing the spacebar towards the left. if they had just put the "alt" key to the left, it would have been perfect as i noticed that tapping on the spacebar on the extreme right edge (due to the fact that it's left bias and I'm using my right thumb) sometimes misses the actual space character.

If any of you value your sanity or life, stay AWAY!! I got this for Christmas. I was happy because my friend had one and it worked fine for him. Lucky for him, not for me. It didn't work with the drivers that came with it. I had to download the driver from Belkin's site to get it to even recognize that there was a keyboard there. Now, whenever I press a button once, it fills the entire screen with that key. WITH ONLY ONE PRESS. I figured that I might be missing something so I contacted their technical support. A week later I got an email saying I should just download the drivers from the site and not use the one that came with it. I received this as a gift and I have to say this is prob the best gift I ever received. I bought a used car a year ago and after I bought it I realized that where they installed the cd player they had to take out the cigarette lighter/car charging station. I got one of these cases when I first got my KIN2m. It snaps on perfectly, and looks rugged enough -in fact a little industrial. But with this on the phone, it's almost impossible for the phone to slip out of your hand.

There is a hole in the back, and two plugs. One has the knob for use with the belt clip. The other is flat. You remove the back cover to change the plugs, and the back is pretty hard to get off (as it should be), so you won't want to change the plugs too often. The inside of the back has a soft liner, which is nice, but adds thickness. The cover adds about an eighth of an inch to the thickness of the phone. If you use the front cover as well, that adds more. With the cover on, the power and volume buttons become recessed, so they're harder to hit accidentally.

If you use the belt clip, make sure you've slid the phone all the way onto the clip until you feel a solid click. There's a slight indent before you get there, and if you stop there, the phone can easily fall off the clip. (Trust me on that one.) If you go all the way down, then it's pretty secure.

I wound up leaving the top cover off because a)it looks better that way, b) The top cover was a little annoying when trying to use the top row on the keyboard, and c)I chose to get a leather belt pouch rather than having the phone exposed on the clip. The phone fits into the pouch easier without the top cover.

After a few months, the tabs on the ends of the case were a tiny bit stretched out, so the case could move a bit lengthwise, and creating the "creaky" sound another reviewer noted. But it stayed tight side to side and was in no danger of falling off.

Nice to have. Good concept but will not last long. It just isn't strong enough to hold up. So just carry it in the pocket

I had a body glove case for my previous phone (Lg env touch) and it was indestructable and very secure on the phone. I went with the same company, I'm a little more dissapointed with this product. I'm sure it's the best case out there for this phone, but It is a sliding phone which makes the case seem kinda cruddy compared to previously used cases.

Front guard only snaps on loosely and material is way flexible so it's easily knocked off when wearing on belt. The back part only grips on using extremely slim tabs, two of which don't hold when gripping the phone to use it. I haven't had the phone pop out of the case, but I'm not going to chance it and carry it minus the case in pocket now. Overall the case makes the phone really "creaky" when handling and doesn't guard from accidental button presses.

Present O-folio

My son's middle school requires students to carry 6 or 7 composition books, assorted spirals, and a big heavy text book, as well as an expensive graphing calculator, a compass for geometry, and pencils, pens, etc, BUT they are not allowed to carry bags of any sort, and the school layout and tight scheduling preclude using the locker provided. It's a great lesson for kids in the arbitrary and absurd rules you are sometimes forced to follow. This is the best solution we have found. The 3 ring arrangement is removable, so all of those books can fit better, and there are nice pockets and compartments so that he can find his stuff. It has a removable shoulder strap, too. Admittedly, I bought one in late August and I am in the market to replace it now, as it's starting to die, but we'd gone through 3 or 4 of the less beefy binders we tried last year by this time.

PalmOne Tungsten T and T2 Hard Case P10897U

Having recently purchased the terrific and super-compact Tungsten/T, I was anxious to protect it with a hard case. I expected the Tungsten/T hard case to be similar to my previous Palm V hard case -hard shell protection with minimal size -but was very disappointed in the size of the Tungsten/T case.

Sure, it's sleek and carries out the design theme of the Tungsten/T itself. It is also beautifully engineered, using a clever mounting which allows the Tungsten/T to slide open while mounted in the case (with the cover open), plus when closed a cutout allows access to the voice memo feature. Another clever addition is the dual SD card holder integrated into the inside cover (although I personally have no need to carry extra cards).

The size is simply excessive. The compact-sized Tungsten/T alone is only 4" tall by 3" wide by 5/8" thick. But in the case, the dimensions grow to 4-3/8" tall by 3-3/8" wide by 7/8" thick. The external hinge causes the width increase, while the 40% increase in thickness is caused by a combination of the SD stick storage and standoffs which give extra clearance from the screen and buttons. If you carry your palm in your purse, briefcase or jacket pocket, the size may not be bothersome, but if you carry it in a pants pocket, the size increase is significant. If you previously owned a Palm V (or Vx)with the minimally-intrusive Palm hard case, you may be disappointed with this one, as am I.

After all, didn't you buy the Tungsten/T largely because of its super-compact size? Then why does Palm think we want to significantly increase its size by using an oversized hard case for it?

The case is fairly well made and will no doubt protect your Palm reasonably well; however, I quickly grew disenchanted with it for several reasons.

First, the case does not completely enclose the Palm, a fact that is not evident from the pictures. When closed, the top and left side are still exposed, allowing access to the stylus, memory card, IR port, power button, audio jack and voice memo button. It's very possible, then, for the memory card or stylus to be ejected while the unit is in a purse or backpack, or for the unit to be turned on. While access to the jack and record button could be useful, it's unclear to me why the designers thought that access to the Palm's top was necessary. There's also a thumb cutout in the back panel for some reason, perhaps to aid in removing the Palm from the case. but it is hardly necessary.

Secondly, Palm's marketing material claims that the case allows you 'full access to all Tungsten T handheld features.' That's true only if you don't consider using Graffiti a feature, as you can't expand the Palm -and thus can not enter any data -while it's in the case.

Thirdly, the claimed 'spring loaded hinge and attachment clip to hold your device securely in place' is hardly that. The attachment clips are perhaps 2mm long. Pressing the power button or inserting/removing a memory card requires enough force that you will also unseat the Palm from the case.

There are additional flaws. The expansion card slots are polarized, for some unfathomable reason, so that cards can only be stored so that the card contacts are exposed and the label can't be seen. And the spring loaded hinge doesn't always keep the case completely closed. It sometimes gapes open a few millimeters, allowing any sharp objects that might be in your bag with it the opportunity to get in and scratch the screen. Finally, the packaging also claims that the case has a cushioned lining. You can probably guess that there is none; the case is aluminum over plastic.

I just got this hard aluminum case for my Tungsten T (TT). I absolutely love it. While considering which case to get, I checked out the leather case by Palm, too, but it didn't look nearly as good as this hard case. In fact, I thought the leather case looked poorly made in comparison.

Here are some reasons why I like the hard aluminum case:

1. You can see and feel that the case is custom made for the TT. My TT fits nice and snug in the case (which is a wonderful feeling).

2. The springs in the case and two rectangular holes in the back of the TT (take a look) are used to secure the TT in the case. It works fabulously. With a swift, effortless (I'm not exaggerating) move (gently pressing downward and pulling the Palm towards onerself), the TT can be removed from the case. This makes the hard case superior to the leather one, which uses clips on both sides like the cheap plastic cover that comes standard with the TT. The clips just don't feel as secure and tend to loosen after a while. I always feel like I have to be extra careful when dealing with the clips. Not the case with the springs.

3. The hinges that hold the case cover are great. The cover doesn't just flip open and dangle about. Sure, they're plastic, but they're also cleverly made so that you can open the case cover at 120 degrees or 180 degrees. When you close it, one gets a nice click.

4. I don't think the case is made of aluminum, which is actually a plus for me because the material has more give and is softer. The material is definitely more scratch-resistant than real aluminum.

5. My TT feels well-protected. Every part of the TT, except the top and the bit where the earphone jack and voice memo button are, is covered by the case. The fact that the bottom is covered is especially significant. This way, I don't feel like my TT will slide off and/or drop when I use it while standing and holding it more vertically.

I have to agree with some of the other reviews that this case might not be as ideal for lefties. And yes, the case increases the size of your TT, but it doesn't bother me. Honestly, any decent case out there would make your TT bigger. The other common criticism about this case is that one can not pull down and use the grafitti section when the TT's in this case. The solution is simple: PULL UP INSTEAD! In fact, the case is conveniently designed to make pulling up to expose the grafitti section easy.

The case takes a little getting used to, but once you know how to use it, you'll appreciate it.

I was wondering why I could not find this hard case anywhere that the Tungsten was sold, and I had to order it online.

Upon receipt of the case I figured out why: on the internet you can fool people by showing them a picture of an "aluminum" case and it looks aluminum. You can't fool people when the item is right in front of their eyes.

Do not be fooled: this case is made of ... plastic. The hinge is also made of plastic, and every time I open the case it feels like it is about to crack in half.

If you are left-handed, this case will not feel ergonomic in your hand, as the person from Ireland pointed out below.

When the item this case is supposed to protect is more rugged than the case itself, you know you have a problem.

It is a shame that such a well-made, classy item like the Tungsten does not have a decent case to hold it.

I rec'd. this case a few days ago, and overall am quite pleased. While I was under the impression that the case was aluminum, actually it appears to be vapor metallized aluminum on plastic (i.e., more plastic than aluminum). It holds the Tungsten very secure in the "closed" mode (i.e., w/ the slider closed rather than extended)and quite secure w/ the Tungsten's slider extended. Other benefits:

-2 slots inside the case for extra SD cards

-a cut-a-way on the side of the case for easy access to the voice recorder button

-open top for easy access to power button as well as to slide open (extend) the Tungsten

-it's still small enough to fit into a normal shirt pocket and not be too bulky / obvious

-a cut-out on the back to make extending the Tungsten very easy while still keeping it in its case

-a nice, "Palm" embossing on the front that's not too large / obnoxious

The case could be improved if it had the option of attaching a belt clip, was a bit more sturdy (metal), and was a bit less expensive. ... seems a bit steep for this case.
