the cover back.

Purple Fish Bone Style Snap on Hard Back Protective Cover Case for HTC EVO 4 4g 4G

So I purchased this case for my phone because it appeared pretty sturdy with a hard plastic "fishbone" and a rubber glove that would absorb some impact. The second draw was the appearance of it, it didn't look like some girly case and was ambiguously plain. When the case came I was quiet empress with the materials right after removing it from the packaging. The hard plastic "fishbone" was not painted but indeed a colored plastic and the rubber glove looked thick enough to not tear after a few weeks of use. Now when I put it on the phone the rubber slid right on no problem and the "fishbone" is flexible enough to snap right over the glove. But it appears the glove is oversized and the "fishbone" will not cover the glove as expected. This means that there is some bunching up, the glove because not snug pinches under the "fishbone" and causes it not to fit tightly. So at any given moment one of the four corners is unprotected. This will probably lead to that corner of my phone getting damaged as it seems to never land flat on its back or face, it always lands corner down.

Overall I would say esthetically and economically this is a great temporary case for your EVO 4G... but long term I think I will have to find something else.

Acer Aspire V3-571-9890 15.6-Inch Laptop (Black)

We live out in the sticks, and when we finally got reliable 3G broadband and a wireless network set up, I was ready to no longer share the 2 year old computer with the rest of the family and get a laptop of my own. I use this laptop mainly for my home office: word processing, spreadsheets, internet, photo editing, and a few specific programs. I've found this unit to be a very reasonable tool for these functions.

This laptop is lightning fast, has plenty of memory, decent graphics/sound, and seems well constructed. I've read a couple of reviews that mention slow start ups, but I have not found this to be the case. I agree that Windows 8 has a pretty big learning curve for the first few days ("intuitive", my left foot!), but after some initial frustration I was able to navigate through the program screens rather easily. I find I still favor the "classic" laptop homescreen, but since Win 8 is app driven, that may be part of why you can have so many screens/tiles open and working with no speed lag. I also really like that the function shortcuts are printed on the keys in blue so I'm not constantly looking them up until I memorize them. I am not a fan of touchpads, so I like being able to quickly disable it with just a keystroke and turn on my wireless mouse instead. Bluetooth connected to all my other devices (wireless speaker, wireless headphones, my Droid X) without missing a beat. Again, noticed no loss of speed or data with multiple connections active.

Just a couple of things that bug me:

1. The CD drive is pretty flimsy. The first time I inserted a DVD to try out the graphics, the DVD did not stay in the tray.

When I pushed the tray into the laptop, the DVD floated up and lodged in the housing above the drive. Fortunately, I was

able to fish the DVD out using a piece of padding and some tweezers without damaging the laptop or the disk.

2. There is no caps lock/number lock indicator light. Sounds like a small thing...until you want to do a lot of word processing.

This kind of drives me crazy.

3. Not a big fan of the shiny piano case finish on the exterior and around the screen. Fingerprint city! I am always wiping

the thing off so I don't look like a slob.

4. There are no programs loaded onto the laptop "as is" that are not internet driven. I kind of enjoyed having a few games and

goodies on the old Windows formats that were available to play offline. Bye, bye solitaire.

Admittedly, the above list are small things that I like to grouse about, but they would not be enough alone to keep me from making this purchase again. I still think this is a good machine for the money.

I bought this laptop so that I could get work done around the house instead of being chained to my desktop. I'm a software developer, so I often run virtual machines of the platforms I'm developing for. Everything runs fast and smooth. I've even played some game on this laptop, and they run great. The keyboard is extremely easy to type on. The laptop stays a very comfortable temperature, even after hours of use and while gaming. I am extremely satisfied with my purchase.

Acer is an often forgotten brand of laptop, however I have owned and used HPs, Dells, Toshibas, and Asus and Acer tops them all. This computer has the best touchpad, a decent keyboard, good screen, and excellent sound quality. It is fast and will process nearly all programs with speed. Great buy.

This is a good computer. I'm using it as a desktop, so I use an external keyboard and a 24" viewsonic monitor. Also have a USB3 hub and external HD. The only thing (besides getting Win8 figured out) I didn't care for was the preinstalled software from ACER. No prob, really I just uninstalled it all .

I got a defective one with dead pixels and had to return. Acer customer service was useless but Amazon took it back no questions asked and with a smile. Bravo Amazon customer service.

The screen was too dull even at max brightness. This is due to the matte screen which does eliminate glare so if glare is a really big deal for you, then this might the one. Otherwise I wouldn't recommend it. Just isn't a pleasant viewing experience.

Nokia 770 Internet Tablet PC

Purchased mine from Nokia for $360 (didn't mind the wait) less a coupon of $50. Outstanding value for the price. Coupla glitches though (I am a SysAdmin). Most important: If you are planning on using the Bluetooth connectivity to "dial out" through your Bluetooth-capable phone and a data cellular account, be prepared for considerable frustration. Read the boards. It simply does not want to "pair up" to other devices (in my case, a Sony Ericsson P910a smart phone with T-Mobile data service). As of today I have not been able to get it to pair with the P910a. My notebook pairs and can use the Internet through the P910a just fine. However, the P910a is a Bluetooth 1.1 specification. The Nokia is a Bluetooth 1.2 specification. That shouldn't matter, but others report problems with Motorola phones too. The second issue is an issue, not a problem. The OS is, of necessity, simplistic (after all, it isn't a notebook PC for $1,000!). It does everything it says it will do (exception noted above) but there isn't a bunch of flexibility. The browser (Opera) works fine (bit spooky with some stylesheet depiction, but so are other browsers). WiFi is FAST. Connectivity with WiFi is easy. Some other posts claim the WiFi is weak. Not so. It picks up my entire neighborhood and office park! My new HP WiFi notebook can't compare! Screen is bright and easily visible. External (non screen) browser controls are a great benefit. Battery lasts quite a while. E-mail function works well. There are enough tunable parameters to satisfy most e-mail users (corporate servers, etc.) I don't care about "entertainment" but there is a sample video film trailer which is smooth and clear, and the MP3 player works well. No camera thank you Nokia so it can be used in a corporate environment. First additional purchase needs to be a screen protector for this large screen. The screen keyboard is great and easy to use. It would get a solid 5 if it weren't for the Bluetooth problems.

This is really a pretty cool device, kind of like having a portable internet connection, with the ability to browse the internet and make emails.

WHat is PARTICULARLY impressive is the relatively large screen size, amazingly large for an item that is meant to be small enough to stick in your pants pocket. The graphics are clear. You can listen to music, store files, check email and browse the web.

It is NOT a phone (yet) but it is set to be able to make calls pretty son using VOIP technology when a software upgrade comes out in 2006 and then it will also do IMS at that point pretty cool! . Until then, you'll have to be satisfied with what it can do as far as searching the internet and listening to music. If yo like the "latest" thing, this should keep you entertained.

By the way, it is also hard to get. Sold out everywhere but that ought to change after the holidays. When VOIP and IMS become available for this device and if they are reliable, I'd upgrade my rating to a 5.

If you're on the fence about buying the Nokia, here's a few things to come in mind.

First, the current OS is still a work-in-progress, but it's already developed a huge amount of geek interest and support. In midJune they just released the beta of the 2006 OS, and the actual release is expected in the next month or so.

Now here's the good news. People on the Nokia 770 bulletin boards have been absolutely raving about improvements they've noticed in the 2006 Beta. Adds VOIP support, Google talk, alarms for the Personal Information Manager, better interface, better package manager. (On the flip side, many of the apps for the 2005 version need to be respun--apparently no big deal though). Oddly, they had a fully functional microphone which they never enabled until the 2006 version of the OS.

On the software side, they've added a better contact app (which is still not great). The GPE open source application has undergone substantial improvements, and now that 2006 has alarms, that solves a major gripe people have had. FBReader is now the premier ebook reading program capable of reading PDB, HTML, RTF, TXT and FB2 files.

So before you buy, you might want to look up the improvements due to happen on the 770 real soon. And be pleasantly surprised. Now's a great time to buy the nokia, because the device is just about to hit its stride.

I'm a bit of a geek, and have been waiting for a *good*, under US$500 "real" computer that fits easily in my pocket.

Nokia delivered.

The 770 oozes quality, with a solid but not too heavy feel. WiFi performance is excellent it picks up more neighborhood networks than any desktop in my home, and connecting to mine (ahem) was simple and quick. Downloading is FAST.

Put an RS-MMC card (up to 1 GB; a 64 MB is included) in the slot and connect the 770 to your desktop via USB, and it acts as a disk for transferring media or office files. The removable battery is also a nice touch; my PDAs usually required factory assistance in case of rechargable battery failure.

The 800x480 display is simply gorgeous, and well-supported with the dedicated "Full Screen" and zoom / unzoom buttons on top (in audio apps, zoom / unzoom becomes volume control). A "normal" 3.5 mm headphone jack makes the unit suitable as an MP3 player as well (my Palm has a "small" 2 mm jack for which headphones are hard to find).

First charge took about 4 hours while using the WiFi heavily; unplugged, the battery gauge dropped to half in about 2 hours. With WiFi off (a single click), I haven't budged the battery gauge yet.

The included Opera-based browser works exceptionally well. Video, audio and Internet radio worked glitch-free out of the box, and the other included software has been stable and reasonably functional.

Since it's based on very popular standards (*geek speek alert*: Debian Linux and GTK+ aka Gnome graphics), a LOT of software is already available for the 770, including productivity apps, games, and 2 Personal Information Managers. Neither PIM holds a candle to Palm (yet), but both are in active development and free. DON'T buy the 770 if that's your primary use, though if the screen is off, you won't get an audible alert for your meeting (I'm told this is a software rather than a hardware omission).

As with all Debian-based Linux's, installing or removing an app is trivial two clicks, almost identical to installing or removing an extension in FireFox. And, of course, no reboot required.

A few other "1.0" artifacts keep it from 5 stars: The runtime memory is a bit low, allowing only 4 or 5 programs before a "Low Memory Event" tells you to close something (of course, my Palm can only run one program at a time, so maybe that's a feature). The stylus is flat rather than round, and can only be removed if the case cover is moved a few millimeters first (a small notch is needed here). And although the unit has a surprisingly good speaker, no provision is made for a microphone, built-in or external an odd omission for a phone company product.

Those qualms aside, however, I'm generally very pleased with my new "Tablet PC in a Pocket". Now, any time I drop into Starbucks or another WiFi-ready location, I'm ready, too.

I find it comical when I read reviews from people trashing the Nokia 770 because it's not a good PDA or a good music player or a good blah, blah, blah.

People this is an INTERNET tablet. That is what is was designed to do the best. And it is awesome as a web browsing device. The reviewer Sunny who says that the browser constantly crashes must have a corrupt operating system or a hardware problem. I've had the device for almost a year now and it has been rock solid. I have only had the device freeze up once on me that entire time. The wireless connection is stronger than the two laptops that I have. And I love the beautiful display this device has.

By the way, I love the other options that Nokia threw on this device like the Video player and the audio player. While the video player doesn't match the latest version of Windows media player, it does the job. But, once again, if you want to use a device as a media player or as a PDA, you probably don't want the 770. But as a portable, internet web browsing device, there's nothing out there that is better.

I finally closed my eBay account because I was so sick of crooks who listed items for 99 cents and then made their money on exorbitant shipping and handling charges. (one guy listed a USB flash drive for 99 cents and wanted EIGHTY-FOUR DOLLARS in shipping/handling)

This seller is almost as bad. I added five of these $1.99 SD cards to my cart for a total of $9.95, then cancelled the order because the shipping would have been almost thirty bucks.

Needless to say, this is ridiculous. I can ship five SD cards anywhere in the country for less than ten bucks. Why is Blue Proton charging thirty?

This is just another way for unethical sellers to try to rip people off and make them think they're getting a good deal when they're really not.

$165 for shipping $98 worth of SD Cards. I wasted my time going through the order just to cancel at the end when I found out what shipping was going to be.

Item doesn't include the standard American lifetime warranty that Kingston products usually come with. I can't read the "Taiwanese" that this product ships with...maybe there's a Taiwan warranty. You're better off spending a bit more and receiving an item that's guarranteed for life. It's not uncommon for a file to become corrupted and the card rendered useless.

Let me start by pointing out the good things:

1. It comes with an awesome little fish skeleton keychain that my cats love lol.

2. It fits well.

3. Makes it slightly easier to hold.

4. Protects it. I don't feel bad about dropping it.

5. Good price.

The bad points:

1. It adds some heft to the device.

2. It is so thick that it adds quite a bit of bezel so to speak around the screen.

3. The worst part to me, is that it attracts dirt, lint, hair, fuzz and anything else you can imagine. You set it down it immediately picks up every single particle that it comes in contact to, and it makes it feel DISGUSTING. It's awful. I could overlook everything else and extol its virtues till the end of time if it weren't for all the crap it picks up. To get a sense of the feeling, if you've ever held a block of cheese for a while and it starts to get that gritty feeling from the heat and movement from your hand then you know how this feels. I've tried washing it. Someone online suggested adding some oil to it then wash it off. I have some shoe protector stuff that I'm going to try and spray on it. If that doesnt make it better then I'm just going to have to buy something else.

Edit 6/10/12: OK, I gave up on it. I tried everything under the sun. I oiled it, I sprayed it with my shoe stuff. Nothing worked. I couldn't stand it. I just bought and expensive key chain

I had shopped around for a cover at places like B&N and BestB, but didn't find any great options for a cover to get for the nook touch. Palm Pixi Plus Back Cover / Battery Door for Touchstone

This is the 1st replacement that is better than the original! Is harder and feels much better than the original cover, for the price is unbeatable and has little magnets that close the battery hole when not in use which i hated from the one that comes with the phone. i haven't tried the wireless charging but im considering buying the charger. Great price, but my wife has now been through 3 of these in 1.5 years... It's a good thing they are down to a few dollars because the letters fall off quickly (just a cosmetic issue), and the charging "flap" won't stay closed because the little bit of metal that is glued to it falls off within a month of using it. On to of all that, the rubber edge separates from the cover after about 6 months of heavy use. All this being said, it was a great cheap phone so just order 3-4 of these covers to keep as spares.

Duracell DRINVP175 175-Watt Pocket Inverter with 2.1-Amp USB Port

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program This 12 volt inverter is smaller than I possibly could have imagined. At 4x2.5x1, it's about the size of a deck of cards. It weighs only 4oz so it's almost as if it's a hollowed out piece of plastic. Impressive! Previous inverters that I've used were about the size of a brick (and weighed almost that much). I was completely surprised when I saw how small and light this was.

While it advertises 175W support, that is white lie told by the marketers. The product clearly states it can *peak* at 175W but in normal operation, it is rated for 130W. This is a small but important difference. I wish they'd just tell the truth and call it a "130W inverter" but exaggerating and advertising peak values seems to be an industry norm. An example where this little lie might get you: the charger that came with my laptop is 150W and would not work with this inverter. That said, I never bring along my huge 150W laptop power supply when traveling.

This inverter seems to have a small fan which is inaudible unless you hold the inverter up to your ear. During 20 minutes of formal testing, the inverter reached an external temperature of about 100 degrees. If I shined my thermometer inside the air vents, I was able to get readings of 108 degrees. I'm guessing that this inverter gets quite warm to the touch after extended operation. I doubt that it is any different than other products like laptop power bricks. If I notice higher temperatures in extended usage, I'll update my review.

My kill-a-watt noted that the Duracell inverter provides 115.5 volts. This is a little less than I get in my house (118 volts). The power hertz was way down from what I get in my house. At home I get 59.9hz but the inverter provided between 24 and 37hz. The faceplate says it will 120volts @ 60hz but I'm not sure if this is an issue with the kill-a-watt or the inverter. I'm not a physicist so I don't really know what applications are impacted by the difference in frequency.

My first test of the Duracell inverter was to make use of its USB port to charge my phone. There wasn't much to this testI plugged the cell phone into the USB port and it started charging. I count this as a success.

My next test was to plug in my laptop using the aforementioned 150W power supply. The laptop did not show that it was charging and the inverter's green power light started flashing. It appeared to be protecting itself from drawing too much power. Another success.

Next I plugged my laptop's 60 watt power supply into the inverter and confirmed that my laptop was now charging. The kill-a-watt showed I was drawing about 40 watts and the laptop indicated that it was plugged in. More success.

My final test was my CPAP machine. I've always wanted to be able to sleep in the car when on long trips but I have sleep apnea and require a CPAP machine. I wasn't crazy enough to plug my heated humidifier into this but I did test the CPAP and it worked fine. The machine draws 25 watts when operational so it's a fairly light load. Still, I was quite happy to see this work as this could definitely be something I use when on long drives.

Overall, I think this inverter is a steal. The small size will truly fit in your pocket and it seems to have enough capacity for almost anything reasonable that you will try to do in your car (charge a laptop). It also includes a set of clamp cables that could attach directly to a car or marine battery. This would be a great, inexpensive power solution for someone that lives in a place that sometimes loses power. Of course, you'd be very constrained on the wattage you could use so I think this would only work in the case of emergencies. But if you were an avid camper and could some how drag along a battery, this might be a handy way to plug in something like a CPAP machine when in the middle of nowhere.

Although I haven't had this happen to me yet, it also comes with an overheat protection with automatic shutdown. All these features help prevent blow-outs and destruction of electronic cigarette lighters and other outputs.

Its one weakness is the cigarette lighter plug itself. It stands about three inches long, so if your car's cigarette lighter is positioned in a tight spot, this device may be awkward or impossible to use. If your car's lighter is in the front dashboard with no obstructions, though, and you have only a laptop and iPod/iPhone to charge, this little gadget is ideal. It comes with a three-year limited warranty.

The product works fine, but it fails to mention on amazon that this is 175 watts PEAK. On the device it reads 130 watts continuous, 175 watts peak. I bought this to charge my dell lattitude work laptop in my car and even with the laptop powered off it is unable to charge it. My laptop requires 150 watts so I thought I'd be covered with 175 but 130 isn't enought to get it done. I've been able to find other uses for it, and it works fine for charging camera batteries and handheld devices, but the ad is a little misleading.

Update: After re-reading the description, it does say "up to 100 watts compatability", but I still feel that should have been mentioned in the first line right next to "175". Still misleading, but I didn't read carefully enough.

This is my third inverter, and (just based on one test) this one is way, way, way quieter than my cheesy inverter from Walgreens and the cheesy (CyberPower) one from Walmart. As I understand almost all the noise is from tiny whiny fans, and the others sounded like high-pitched Dust Busters. By comparison this one was (for five minutes, at 40W) practically silent.

On the other hand, the box says it's 175 watts, but only if you hook it up directly to the car battery using the enclosed tiny jumper cables. Probably not what most people had in mind. The box says 175 watts peak power, 130 watts continuous (apparently with the jumpers), 120 watts (peak? continuous?) from the lighter socket. That's fine with me, but that's what it is.

Update: Year later, occasional use, still silent. As a 120-watt (peak?) inverter my experience is five-star. Just a truth-in-labeling issue.

This is a car inverter. It plugs into the cigarette lighter port and gives you an electric outlet. It works fine, with two exceptions. First, sometimes it makes a very high pitched hissing noise. Originally, I thought that mine was defective, and so I exchanged it. The replacement does the same thing.

Second, it has some kind of power saving feature that makes it so that it own't turn on until something draws from it. The problem is that many power supplies today have a similar feature they won't start drawing until power is available. One such device is the power supply for the Samsung Series 5 Chromebook. As a result, if you plug the power supply for the chromebook into this device, it will never start charging the Chromebook.

There is a work-around. If you use a power splitter, you can plug in the Chromebook power supply AND some other device that pulls a draw. Once it starts, the Chromebook will start drawing as well, and then you can unplug the other device. Its a pain, but it works.

It looks good, it comes in a handy storage case that doubles as a mini-camera mount, it has a built in lamp for illuminating what you're shooting, it records decent sound as is and allows you to add an external microphone for even better sound. One thing I like is that all it takes to access the application that controls it is to plug it in to your computer via USB. It immediately leads you through the installation process.

Of course, if you have any of those devices, you already have a webcam, so why would you need a new one? You wouldn't at least not a standard webcam designed to mount on top of the computer and record your face. But what if you wanted to switch between your face and your profile or between your face and the baby's crib, as you were Skyping with grandma? This makes it easy to switch live between the built-in webcam and another view, anywhere that's in range of the same access point you are using. It would be ideal if, for example, you were streaming an interview live, where you could put one person in charge of switching the viewpoint in front of the laptop, and another interviewee seated comfortably nearby with this recording their responses.

What got me most excited, though, was the potential to use it for stop motion. I use a stop motion program (iStopMotion) that allows me to preview shots and control a webcam from my computer. With this I can set up the camera wherever I like, untethered to my computer, and then record things one shot at a time. I actually went looking around for something like this that would work on my Mac a couple years ago and couldn't find anything like it out there. The images look great, and the process works great. The camera can either mount directly, via a magnetized swivel ball on the bottom, to the top of its carrying case, or, for even greater flexibility you can remove the lid of the case and mount that to a tripod (or gorillapod) via a standard 1/4" mounting screw. I wish, though, they'd also included a screw mount on the bottom of the camera, because that would allow for even greater flexibility -say if you wanted to mount this to a gorillapod mount and mount that to a lamp on the top of the ceiling.

I have noticed, further, that for this to work you do have to have a strong WiFi signal nearby. This doesn't seem to pick up signal as well as some other WiFi devices I've used. In certain spots of my house, and even in my office, I get a message from the Broadcaster app that the video bandwidth is insufficient and I can see heavy pixelation in the images. This is true even where I know that the bandwidth is capable of streaming HD movies from Amazon or Netflix, so I can only assume it's due to the device's own WiFi transmitter/receiver. That's the biggest weakness of the device as far as I'm concerned, and the reason why I don't give it the highest rating.

Overall, though, this is a fantastic new kind of webcam, that's well designed, and works well for video calling and for other creative uses ... if you have a strong nearby signal.

Setup is simple. An O.R. code is generated on your setup device, in my case, a MacBook Pro. Once a connection is made to a WiFi network, you simply hold the camera about six inches from the screen and within ten seconds or so, the camera is fully operational.

The hollow base serves as a storage compartment for the device which has a builtin rechargeable battery as well as an external power connection. The base also serves as a multidirectional video mount, eliminating the need for tripods, etc.

I have accessed the stream on my MacBook Pro, my iPhone 5, and my new iPad. It also broadcasts to UStream so you can share with your friends and neighbors. A Facebook or YouTube link is provided, and uploading to those services from Apple devices is easy. iMovie is supported as well for those fans of this quirky Apple app.

Logitech positions this as a multi-angle camera to supplement the builtin in cameras on Apple devices. It promotes dual camera shots on Skype calls (and presumably on FaceTime) but unless you are a Spielberg wannabe or an aspiring adult movie star it does not seem worth the trouble.

As to the 720p resolution, it is adequate. Logitech does offer a 1080p webcam but without the wireless capacity. The wireless functionality is the key here and accompanied by a person hotspot (and a great data plan) you can practice being Steven Spielberg anywhere.

We bought this camera hoping to have found the fountain of youth, but even though video quality is great and the concept is great too, even on direct power, it resets itself after 30 minutes. For streaming this is a serious problem because when Wirecast looses the signal has to be restarted to get it back and half way through a concert or church service, that is not possible.

Logitech should develop a 920 with the possibility of using Canon EF lenses. That would be a dream come true for webcasters and a huge step for human kind.

LG-101 Cell Phone

I love this phone! It is small, simple, and does everything well that it is supposed to do. Of course it has caller ID and call history (How silly to say otherwise. To see your call history just press the green 'TALK' button you use for dialing a number, same button as in almost every other cell phone.)

Honestly, I am shocked that of all the cell phones I have owned this is my favorite so far. I use a phone for calling and a little bit of text. This phone is small, it does calls and text well, everything works smoothly and simply, actually it is so much more intuitive, simple, smooth, and well thought out than most of the expensive phones you get with a contract plan. None of my previous phones cost less than $100, but this one usually runs around $20 (base price, not including any contract tie-ins or promotions) and it is better than any of them. How long will it last? I don't know, but honestly it doesn't seem poorly made, all the buttons are crisp and everything locks together nicely. Other than being so light, which isn't necessarily a negative, it seems as good in manufacturing quality as any other phone I have had.

If what you want is a simple, small phone for mainly just talking and a bit of texting this phone will be great for you. It has no camera or bluetooth capability, but it has a REAL headphone jack, and a simple push button on/off speakerphone. As the phone is small, so are the buttons, if that is a problem for you then this is not your best choice.

Bottom line: it's small, simple, easy to use, cheap, and it just works. I would recommend this phone to everyone who just needs a simple phone that is intended to be used as a phone not a computer.

If you want a smart phone obviously this is not the one for you. For my purposes, this is one of the best purchasing decisions I have ever made in my life, after paying so much for cell phones in the past I feel like I have just struck gold.

I got this leather case protector for the Droid X2/X, taken the very limited choices Verizon offers.

It is slim and the X2/X fits in nicely. It does not position the phone too far out from the belt and is not bulky. Putting it into the case the right direction, you can keep head phones connected and also charger can be connected while in the case. The leather is of good quality. The clip is strong and slipping off the belt is not an issue at all. The clip cannot be removed and also there is no 360 degree adjustment. The phone topside is not covered completely, so holding off water/rain/spills can happen.

All over, very reasonable choice, shipment takes a little bit, but it is worth the waiting time.

Motorola Symbol LS2208 Scanner

We use about 5 of these in our office. Great all around scanner. Works on even very small barcodes (couple milimeters tall). I think this is probably like the worlds most popular barcode scanner, I try to buy them used when possible, and can usually find them. Reads all popular barcode types that I know of, and with a little research can be easily adapted to scan even more obscure types. Easy to use just plug into a windows computer if you have the USB adapter.

I had a Welch Allen Barcode scanner that worked till i upgraded my computer. Then it didnt work with the new PC. So i did some looking and found this one. IT WORKS GREAT! right out of the box i plugged the Cat5 to USB cable in and Windows 7 found it and loaded the drivers itself. I use this with a dvd program, DVDProfiler, I scan the barcode and dont have any issues at all. I can scan from just a few inches away to 3 feet away (just had to try it). This works with my needs with not an issue.

123scan is the configuration tool from Motorola.

According to this program this specific scanner part number is not configurable.

There are certain things a configurable scanner is able to do that a legacy is not.

Make sure you have the right part number and not just "LS2208"... there are dozens of different part numbers that start with that number.
