I have to say, I may be a special case, but, Glooko changed how I deal with my diabetes completely.

I have been a Type II diabetes patient for 15 years. I have tried a variety of meters and this and that and basically, I hated everything. User interfaces on meters are clunky and not useful to me. I want data analysis quick and on my terms. The logbook software on most meter systems come with a data cable to transfer data from the meter to a PC.

It is Two Thousand And Twelve In The Year Of Our Lord. Why am I transferring data from my portable meter to a stationary Personal Computational System? Let's get with the times. I have a life. Most of it is lived from a backpack. I carry it with me. And what use is a Bluetooth adapter module that only works on Android?

Fast forward to recently, following a hostpital visit due to diabetic complications. I got Glooko.

Plug the cable into the meter, transfer the data. You can review the data in the Glooko logbook app, or send off reports to your Physician or Endocrinologist via email. OR send yourself a CSV of all the data. That is really useful.

So, I do a lot of that. I monitor myself four times a day now. But the prime motivator here was that Glooko makes reliance on the meter for anything more than getting the number and timestamp irrelevant. And that sits just fine with me.

I have been using the metersync cable for a couple of weeks now and I have to say I'm very impressed. It's much easier to organize my numbers with the program than writing it down the old fashion way. I'm able to notice trends and problem spots with the different organization options. You can type up notes in the program, like food and carbs and your blood glucose readings will fill in around your data. So far I have nothing negative to say. I especially like that I can export all the information to excel, print and take it to my endocrinologist. Not more last minute log books for me. If you have trouble keeping track of your numbers and have a iphone I highly recommend this purchase.

If you have diabetes and an iPhone there's no reason for you not to be using this product. Having your readings in a colorful easy to manage format handy to browse at a moment's notice is a HUGE resource for someone trying to improve their blood sugars. The app is wonderfully designed and the cord worked perfectly with my One Touch Ultra Mini. It even warned that my time was set incorrectly.

Buy this and the next time someone asks you why you spend so much time glued to your iPhone you'll actually have a good excuse. I finally do.
