HP digital pen (with eraser) ( PL800A )

HP digital penDuring a repair my original HP digital pen for my T4400 tablet PC was lost so I went looking for a replacement. I found some warning on the Internet that only an original HP-pen would work AND fit the space in the screen. After getting a message from Amazon that there was a discount on the pen I bought one. It arrived safely and does exactly what it is supposed to do. And it fits perfectly in my tablet screen. So if you are in a similar position as I was and are looking for a replacement (or spare) pen for your HP-tablet PC, don't hesitate.

I have a HP Compaq TC4400. This is the pen for it.

Compared to the one I got with the tablet PC this one is designed to be harder to break, which is a good thing. My previous one broke when I accidentally dropped it on hard ground.

I bought a refurbished HP Compaq TC4400 tablet computer which works great, but had a broken stylus.

This replacement stylus was exactly the right model and works great.

It's important to get the right model stylus, as it can then fit in the built-in slot at the bottom left corner of the screen, and this will protect it.

I took apart the old and broken stylus and discovered that it actually has a circuit board inside it. It is a fairly complex piece of machinery, not just a pointer. I guess this partially justifies what I think is a high purchase price ($45), which was my only complaint.

Can't say much except this was a replacement for a lost stylus. Works as it should.

The pen clip broke as I removed it from package. Then as I was removing the pen itself from the package the plastic top half of the pen cracked and exposed the circuit board and other internal parts.

Suffice it to say, it never worked.

So, maybe this one was a lemon? Not sure. Also noticed that there were six or so pen tips in the package, as though you would be wearing them out somehow, and they would need to be replaced. I have a digital pen for my Samsung Note, and it has no apparent need for replacement tips. Why you would need replacement tips in the first place for a digital pen is beyond me...but whatever....

Would not recommend as the pen is configured now.
