I've been searching for a portable scanner for a long time. I originally thought that I would use it for scanning pictures but now I use it for almost everything imagineable. It's so light weight and portable that it goes everywhere with me. The nice thing is no computer connection is necessary and it's self powered. I scan receipts immediately right from my truck. Once a week I thake the memory card out and copy all scans to my computer. I now have copies of every transaction on my computer. I scan bills, invoices, most of my mail. This is the best tool/toy that I've bought in years. I have a very good OCR program that I use to convert many of the scans to documents that can be edited. The OCR program that came with the scanner is very limited but works fairly well if you don't require specialized conversions.

For scanning directly to memory chip it works fine, but when you plug this scanner into a USB whether it be Windows 7 or Vista you always get " USB not Recognized". The maker of the company "SVP" will not answer any of your emails. This product will not work with Paperport or simular programs. Don't waste your money.

This is a slim and small very attractive scanner that can copy both documents receipts and photo direct on on to a sd memory card.

The most attractive thing about this scanner is that it runs off 4 aa batteries and therefore can be taken and used anywhere in the world any time

Also more amazing is it does not need to have soft wear to run it on a mac or a windows computer. No drivers needed.

There is one matter of concern to bring to your attention

Sad to say I'm not the first to confirm the following

Once the file has been scanned and saved on memory card the scanner once connected to the computer does not show up on the desk top screen or any were to be found in any location

You might as well though the unit out once you made the scan into the bin

The only way to view the file is to say to put the sd card into a camera and play it back on a pc. it won't play back for some unknown reason in a memory slot

Last of all one would hope their customer care team would care .however ,having sent a few emails to the supplier I was feeling a bit sad I paid about £100 pounds to buy it and it does not work I got no replies to three emails.

In conclusion, if you like to waste money on a product that does not work then buy it

My recommendation is you to give it away free to charity or even consider placing it in the waste bin and jumping on top of it, I think a monkey might have great fun playing with this piece of junk instead of a bag of peanuts.

Absolutely one of the best portable scanners on the market. I have used this scanner for about 4 years with out any problem with the scanner. The 600 dpi scans are as good as any flat bed scanner scanning at the same resolution. The batteries last a long time as well. Love that it works independently of a PC.

Would highly recommend it.
