For schlepping around my house, this case does the job. It's padded, a perfect fit, and stores one cable. My drive is the 1T with firewire. RooCase is my favorite brand for storage in-home. If I were to travel with my drives, I'd probably go with a hard case.
It's lightweight, padded, and will protect your device from bumps, but may not protect from damage if dropped from waist high onto a hard surface.
The side pocket is adequate for fitting the short firewire cable that came with the WD drive. The wrist handle is removable.
It seems to be a good value for the money.
