I have to say, this is the best tablet I have owned yet. I have owned at least five tablets within the last two years, and out of all of them this has been the best overall. Except, maybe, for the Acer a 100 I purchased in the beginning two years ago.this tablet has the same screen size as the iPad mini, but this one also has everything with it including extra SD memory card slot. Also it has the front and rear facing cameras, plus quad core processor!!! Not to mention it has a high definition screen and all the extras including bluetooth 4.0. I can easily hold it with one hand without any issues. Unlike what it says in the description, this comes fully equipped with Android 4.2.2. This tablet is super fast! It also comes equipped with GPS, I opened Google Navigation and within seconds, it connected to satellites and found me within 1 foot of where I was! What's great is the fact that it doesn't have to be connected to the internet for directions. I immediately hopped in my car and drove forty-five miles to my parents house and it got me there in one piece without any wifi connection whatsoever. I can honestly say I think this tablet deserves five stars across the board! Absoluely a fabulous tablet and I recommend it to anyone and everyone wanting a tablet. The best thing about this tablet, is the fact that it is under $200. That is an unbelievable price for a quad core processor for Android 4.2 tablet!!! In fact, this tablet out does earlier Acer models, there are not any heat problems with this model either. Just buy it, you will not regret it! This tablet is even better than the iPad mini easily. Just try it, you will definitely agree. Wow! I spoke this review via the microphone option on my Acer a1-810 tablet. It does great!

It has the lovely 7.9inch screen 4:3 for better web browsing. i'm not fond of 16;9 formats.
Quad core Boot up is 1 sec slower than ipad mini.
Comparable long battery life. Just like the iPad mini which I also love.
HDMI !! Very useful for playing movies on.
External sd!
No product issues encountered so far.
Cheap!
The bad:
Larger, thicker and 100g heavier than ipad mini.
Front camera not very good for webcam. Acer placed the 5MP camera at the back.
Although the resolution is supposedly similar to Ipad Mini, the Acer is less sharp and has yellow cast in the whites.
The speaker is too soft!
At half the price i'm not complaining.
Plus i can now watch flash content and live streaming, which the main reason I bought this pad for.

I realise a bug in the Acer A1 8100:
Took 4 hours to trouble shoot.
If you enable the 4 tap image enlarger, the tap function of the pad delays up to a second second making it impossible to play pinball and all tap games. Swipe is fine.
So I disabled the 4 tap imager enlarger under "settings" and the tap becomes ultra responsive.
Ok for the price and 4:3 format :)

Just received this, it is my first tablet (I do have iPhone) so am still learning all the features and how to use it. Have wanted a tablet but couldn't really justify spending a lot of money since I do also have a laptop. It is a want rather than a need but figured this was a great way to keep up with technology and see if it would satisfy my computing needs. Now that I have it I can't believe what I got for the price! I love the size and will use this for reading kindle books and web surfing. Never have played games on my phone but I will on this. I am 64 so being able to see without my glasses is a big plus. This is my first tablet and I am beyond impressed. This tablet is very fast, responsive, nice size, dual cameras, great picture quality, SD slot, HDMI connection to stream movies and videos... not to mention Im writing a book and I can upload my documents and finish my book...very impressed!Want Acer Iconia A1-810-L416 7.9-Inch 16 GB Tablet (Pure White) Discount?
I've been waiting for the Acer Iconia A1 from when it was first announced. I just received the tablet about 20 minutes ago. So far So good, I was a bit concerned that it may not have had GPS (not specified on the Amazon site or on Acer.com). No worries, it does indeed have GPS.I am loading my apps now and will update this review when I have had more time with the tablet.
At this point I am giving the Acer Iconia A1 2 Thumbs Up.
