PalmOne USB HotSync Cable (m125, m130, i705 & m500 series)

If you can get past the fact that this cable was finally released some MONTHS after the Palm m505 was released, and that it costs $(...) over and above the price of the travel charger, you will find that this is one of those accessories that is worth it's weight (or lack thereof) in gold.

The cable is very light, and allows you to attach your Palm to it without removing it from it's case. The Palm connection is smooth and does not require the lift-snap-pull routine that you go through to remove the unit from the desk cradle.

This cable also has a hot-sync button on the connector, which is an improvement over the cables for the Palm III series. To sync with those cables, you had to use the hotsync software on the desktop. Not a major difficulty, but a bit annoying at times. Now you just push the button on the cable and you are on your way.

This cable does not charge the unit like the desktop cradle does. For that you need the m505 travel charger. However, this cable fits quiet nicely in the bag that comes with the travel charger, so you can have both of them together as needed. The overall size of both this cable and the travel charger is not a lot smaller than the desktop charger, but this little package is much more flexible to carry in a laptop bag.

Now that I am past my frustration with Palm for not having this available at the time of the m505 launch, I am glad that I purchased the cable.

I don't know what the fuss is about with the fit. It fits my M130 snugly and the synch process works flawlessly on my XP machines. I use the cable in 3 places (and the original cradle at home) and haven't had a problem yet.

this product was better than i expected, it was listed as used, but you could have fooled me, it was just like new the seller was prompt and courteous & even sent me an email to introduce himself and let me know he was willing to iron out any discrepancies (there werent any) I would buy from them again!

This cable does not fit the M130 as promised it will not charge it becasue it doesn't even fit it!
