My plastic carrier broke and my blackberry always received the brunt of the damage ifit didn't clip in all the way. There is no noticeable size difference from just having the blackberry snap into the plastic. This carrier provides maximum protection with a great clip to holster your product. It is constructed well, I wish I learned about this item sooner.
