Vivitek Qumi Q5 500 Lumen WXGA HD 720p HDMI 3D-Ready Pocket DLP Projector with 4GB Memory (White)

Vivitek Qumi Q5 500 Lumen WXGA HD 720p HDMI 3D-Ready Pocket DLP Projector with 4GB MemoryInstalled the Qumi Q5 using a panamorph UH480 lens and 133" curved scope screen

and the picture all I need in a high def picture. Sure you could get a little more

refinement or black level but for 650.00 this projector is a steal.

I use Windows 8 with the shark codecs and the picture has a lot of depth, sharpness,

and 3d effect. The digital zoom is a nice feature and the noise is not bad from 3 ft away.

Quirks

focus takes a few minutes from a cold start

remote is a joke

All in all a great little machine for hometheater on a budget!

Update the picture has continued to get better and after 950 hours will rival

projectors costing 3 to 5 time more. Here is a link for pictures and more discussion at AVS forum.

Added Nvidia vision 2 3d 720p 120hz with the VGA mod and 5360 .inf file and works extremley well! I have the Hulk sitting in my lap from 9 feet away what is not to like. Looks better than the Acer 5360 in 3D enough said.

Focus issue is non existent mount the projector from the ceiling and used no keystone adjustment. Focus

was fixed.

Q5 is like a fine wine gets better with age.

I just got the Q5 projector to work with my Dell laptop when I heard a "snap" noise from the projector, and it turned off. Seems dead as a doornail now. Haven't been able to get it to power up. I am guessing that the power adapter failed, and/or a circuit breaker in the projector itself did its job and committed suicide rather than cause a fire.

Too bad, I really liked this little travel projector.

Color is very good, didn't notice the problems with color that I saw years ago with our first DLP portable projector (yellow couldn't work, etc).

bright enough

you hear some fan noise, but nothing like the standard tabletop projector

ability to show PowerPoint presentations right off the projector without a laptop is fantastic, the projector itself is the backup for your laptop breaking

so small I could chuck it in my laptop bag without noticing, and it came with a good pouch

Other issue this projector might have is auto-detecting a VGA connection through the universal adapter (that it comes with). I was able to get it to recognize my laptop using the supplied remote by hitting the Source button. Probably not a significant issue if you always have the remote or set the preference to always assume VGA connection.

Meanwhile I think I am going to return it. I am using this for business, and it doesn't have to be pretty but it does have to work.

Update I returned this for Replacement by Amazon. Hoping to be 2nd time lucky. Something seems odd with that process, because that was a week ago, and Amazon still hasn't shipped the replacement. I guess I should have Returned it for credit and then bought another one in the meantime. Now I have lost at least a week, not a good thing. Live and learn.

Good Afternoon,

I bought a projector Qumi Q5 few months ago and used it 3 or 4 times.

Today I went to use the projector for a business presentation and noticed some black spots in the projected image.

Then these small black spots began to multiply the screen and soon were taking the whole image. I realized I totally lost the brightness of the image ...

What do happened to my projector? How do I manage to get my projector repaired?

I live in Brazil and bought in the United States ...

Should I send it where? How soon will have the projector running?

Thanks in advance!

So, first of all... I was impressed when I got it. It is really light and small. I was worried about all the reviews that said it was loud and about the brightness. For multimedia is great, the problem is watching movies, and only in really clear conditions. At night, in home, it's really great. And the fan is not that loud. My 2010 Macbook Pro is much worse.

However, it just stopped working after a few days, and I wasn't even using it that much. I am getting a system fan error. Apparently, it's not communicating with the projector.

So I'm still thinking about what I should do. Maybe I'll just get a refund and buy another brand.

Not only has it saved me several times, but my friends too.

i love this battery pack. i use it with a goal zero nomad 7 solar panel and am able to charge my phone 2 times on its charge. that is from solar power alone. i get the same results from a usb outlet of any type. i highly recommend this product. it is a very nice backup battery and a very nice way to keep me off the grid with most of my small devices. i even fully charged my nintendo 3ds with it and still had enough charge to charge a dsi and nintendo ds lite. that is a substantial amount of power. considering all those devices were dead.

and this battery really lasts!!! I bought another..also bought the solar panels for emergency situations. Now I have three batteries and three solar panels. I showed both products to the emergency response team at the plant, since they may

be sent to areas where there is no power to charge up their phones..They are ordering some for the crew. The solar

panals work so well with charging this battery or phone I would tell anyone to get both the battery and solar panel.

The solar panel will even charge in ambient light...Great for emergencies!!!!

White 360 Degree Rotating Leather Case Cover with Swivel Stand for Amazon Kindle Fire with Screen P

White 360 Degree Rotating Leather Case Cover with Swivel Stand for Amazon Kindle Fire with Screen Protector + StylusLove my new Kindle Fire case. Great value for the price. My only qualm is that the channels that allow you to prop the Kindle on it's side smudge the screen in two long lines when the case is closed. Not a real issue at all, but for a perfectionist like myself who hates smudges, it's a tiny pet peeve. Thanks for a great product and the quick shipping.

The product is very nice. The case never comes open on it's own and it stays pretty clean most of the time considering it is white. I love the ability to stand up the Kindle on it's own so then I don't have to hold it. Overall i love the case and the accessories were just a bonus.I loved this product and I reccomend others for it too.

Thunderbolt Window & TT (Bulk pack

Thunderbolt Window & TT (Bulk packSticks great and fully adjustable. Charge cord plugs into cradle instead of phone nice feature. Easy in and out. Not a big deal for most people, but no way to mount and use camera at the same time. Cradle is always in view through camera lense.

I was disappointed that when I got this it would not allow me to use any kind of protective phone case with it, but so loved the navigation program that I was willing to make it work. Unfortunately the navigation program only works randomly....and rarely when I really need it to work! It's possible to use it with another navigation program, and the suction holds strong to the window so no risk of the phone dropping. But it really ends up just being a fancy phone charger most of the time. I emailed the company multiple times and never once got a response. Now it is too late to return it:( I would have returned it for another if I had known. But that said, I am happy with how it hold strong and that it will charge my phone while I use a different navigation program. Too bad iGrip doesn't care enough to respond to it's customers! Only order this if you are willing to do without a protective phone case, have another favorite navigation program and only need a fancy phone charger.

This was the second time I bought this same mount for my Thunderbolt. On both, the Micro USB port stopped allowing me to charge my phone after just a few weeks. On the first one I thought that I may have put too much stress on the port by using the Verizon charger which has a short curly cord, so I bought a longer cord for the second one but had the same issue. I have since taken out the old ports and cut a hole so I could pass the charger directly through the dock and into my phone.

Not really important to me but it may be for some, I was never able to get my Thunderbolt to switch into car mode with the second dock, the first dock only switched about 20% of the time.

Two stars because it does a good job of holding my phone, which was half the reason I bought it.

If you're considering other options, buy this one. It is awesome. The window mount holds super tight. It doesn't wiggle or fall off or anything. You can put the phone into the mount with one hand and take it out just as easy. It also triggers the phone into car mode when you put it in. It's a whole different layout of buttons and such on the screen that makes it useful when driving.. The only downside I see is that you can't use the extended battery with this, but I couldn't find anything that did let you use the battery anyway.. The charger connects into the back of the mount so it's much easier than fooling around with pluging it in. I was really surprised how good this thing is put together.

Duo Tablet Kit

Duo Tablet KitGreat product. Worked very well with two minor issues:

a) I tried it on a 17" Screen it didn't work..

b) Have to recalibrate (very quick process) once every ~24 hours

Other than that, it works very well

There are two main complaints about this product and one minor one.

Major problem 1: The batteries for the pen die extremely quickly. I needed to replace them twice in two months. That's once per month.

Major problem 2: It broke in three months. Yep. Just stopped working. In three months.

Minor problem: If you are drawing in the center (i.e. under the reception unit), the lines are all wavy.

In short, don't buy this. This truly is low quality product.

I bought this Pen with very high expectations, and ended up being shocked with the results i got. After few hours of trying and trying on different LAPtops, different brands, and different OS (XP and Windows 7) i managed to get the caliberation going to some extent. However, the click function on the PEN stopped, either using buttons or Pen tip clicks.

I am not sure what is happening to my PEN but i already started looking for something else more consistent as far as performance goes.

What is even more disappointing is i could not find an email on Penandfree.com website to contact them, i get redirected to another website that has some flash issues and does not allow me to complete the complaint!!! very disappointed and a complete waste of my money.

Genius LuxeMate i200 Compact Stylish Keyboard

Genius LuxeMate i200 Compact Stylish KeyboardI was very skeptical when I ordered this keyboard since no one has written a review on it yet. So I took a gamble and just based on looking at the picture and doing some googling (to see more pictures), I went ahead and ordered it.

Much to my surprise this keyboard is awesome! The layout is quite good, very similar to what you will find in most laptops. The feel of the keyboard is very nice. It has a very expensive feel to it, due to the glossy outer case. I like the individual keys and the spacing between them. This keyboard is as close as you can get to the Apple design (though the Apple keyboard is much thinner).

Overall I would highly recommend this keyboard for those who are trying to conserve some desk space and do not use the numeric keys.

Good job Genius! You're product is well...Genius!

I use it for CAD to get my wrists and arms in a more natural position and bought a separate number pad. Its compact but not because the letter keys are any smaller then normal. The size savings is really just from taking out the number pad and smushing in the other keys. But all the keys are there and the letter keys are the exact same spacing as a normal keyboard which was just what I was looking for. Not overly loud. The usb cord is a bit short so I had to use an extension to reach my computer.

so much, much better than this one 89-Key Mini USB Windows® Keyboard

just spend the extra few dollars and get the Genius. not sure why the other reviewer complained about clakity keys. this keyboard is not as quiet as a full-on scissor-switch laptop keyboard. but it's definitely quieter and smaller than a regular size keyboard that has a full frame + number pad.

this is just what I needed to keep my sanity with my limited desk space. the glossy black finish seems to attrack smudges and fingerprints and pet hair, if that will bother you.

Read Best Reviews of Genius LuxeMate i200 Compact Stylish Keyboard Here

On many issues I'd rank this keyboard as fully satisfactory: It's extremely handsome; layout is great; and it's ergonomic at least in terms of consuming minimal space (and therefore not restricting us from using areas of our desk which larger keyboards will infringe upon). In virtually every other area, I'd rate this keyboard a 5.

But the most important thing about a keyboard is how it types; and the most important thing that enables it to function well in that regard is the mechanics of the keys. I've worked more hours a day than you want to know about... and I generally wore out a keyboard in under 6 months until I discovered BTC keyboards quite a few years ago. Until recently, I used to buy my BTCs from Amazon here, but now they've become scarce or not available. The BTCs I've been using are this size, and they just type fantastic, owing to very good key mechanisms. While the BTCs weren't available, I bought this Genius in the hopes it would feature similar mechanics... but no... it's one of the old plunger types which I wear out so quickly.

To explain my complaint... plungers introduce a looseness -the keys will wiggle around because there has to be some clearance for this (cheap) kind of mechanism. This looseness works against you. If you stroke straight down the center of a key, you get one kind of stroke response. Any side movement (and there almost always is some lateral movement in a keystroke) or missing the center, and your stroke cants the key, forcing it to stick as it tries to depress. This of course makes for terribly inconsistent response -especially in a thin board like this, which has to have shorter shafts (which is why I anticipated that it would probably feature the BTC style mechanisms instead).

Another thing you're going to have then is all the faster wear, because with the shorter plunger mechanisms, your keystrokes are binding all the worse -wearing this plastic gizmo out all the faster.

Great looking unit. Perfectly compatible with a Mac or Windows. But right out of the box... terrible for typing. Loosest new keys I've ever experienced. Worse than other (deeper) plunger types I've suffered. I won't be using this one for long. It's such an impediment to good typing that really, it needs to get tossed away brand new for interrupting my timing -which of course is what sticking keys do.

Upgrade the mechanism, and this would be a great board. Otherwise, imho, of *negative* worth to your work.

Shoot, I see now that the BTC is available. I really screwed up:

BTC Emprex 5139 mini space saving keyboard USB

Want Genius LuxeMate i200 Compact Stylish Keyboard Discount?

I purchased this USB keyboard to use with an Acer A500 Android tablet. It works, like most USB devices, by simply plugging it into the tablet and typing. It is making my tablet use much more productive for note taking and writing emails.

The physical size of the keyboard strikes a great balance between being compact, but also having key size and spacing be comfortable and comparable to regular keyboards.

The sound of the keys is normal for most keyboards. It definitely isn't a loud keyboard, but if you were using it in a meeting, it might be a distraction. It definitely isn't as quiet as a laptop keyboard.

I would recommend this product to anyone looking for a compact USB keyboard.

Proporta Shine High Gloss Protective Case Cover/Sleeve/Skin for Apple iPad 2 Gen 2nd Generation

Proporta Shine High Gloss Protective Case Cover/Sleeve/Skin for Apple iPad 2 Gen 2nd GenerationThis is a pretty cool case. You can access all ports and it does have a camera cut out on the back. It holds my iPad securely while having a great look. Love the shiny patent leather and it is a very pretty shade of red. Also it has a magnetic closure which was a nice surprise. Protective and pretty...what more could you ask of an iPad case?

Well, after using for over a month, I find it doesn't stand up on it's own , always falls flat. Won't stay tilted up at all. Would not recommend based on that.

I was looking for a classy, different iPad case and this fit the bill! I was hoping the floral pattern inside was actual fabric, but other than that it is good looking and keeps my iPad safe.

Trouble spots:

* The magnetic closure has come unglued, meaning the case no longer magnetically closes. Not a huge deal, but there's no real way to re-seat the magnet other than cutting the case, re-gluing the magnet, and sewing it shut again.

* The sewing on tab on the back has come undone, so the layers are of the tab open like a book.

* Business card slots are great...until the iPad gets turned upside down in your bag and the cards fall out.

* Agree with other reviews on having to wrangle the case a little bit in order to plug in the iPad cable.

Overall, it's a good looking case, I just find myself disappointed that 6 months in two of the features I liked most the tab to stand up and magnetic lock have failed.

It's sleek, colorful and doesn't add too much weight to the light-weight iPad2. It contains a business card section and insertion sleeve for files or notes. Other than that, I'm very happy with my purchase and hope that Proporta will offer other cover choices in the future!

This is a great cover / case for the iPad 2. I had the smart cover that Apple sells and while I like that for the magnetic clip and the fact that the iPad 2 turns off when the cover is closed, it does not provide the needed protection that this one does. I love the red patent and the snugness of this cover. It works great in every "mode" you can use it. My only complaint is the floral pattern inside. I would've preferred it to be solid because when using this as an e-reader, the floral is slightly distracting. Otherwise, this is a great case and would highly recommend it! The free shipping is essential and appreciated since this product shipped from the U.K.

Acer Aspire V5-171-6471 11.6-Inch Laptop (Silky Silver)

Acer Aspire V5-171-6471 11.6-Inch LaptopI really adore this mobile computer. I am a mobile person and the size is perfect for every day commuting and long-distance travel; it has a small footprint and can fit on any surface be it an airplane seat tray or a lap. The computer does not have a disc drive (which I think is a plus), freeing it to be made very thin; it is not Macbook Air thin, but still very thin. One of my favorite features is the touchpad. It recognizes Apple like gestures and is free from the casing, so that it can physically move up and down when pressed. This gives it a very responsive feel akin to the Apple touchpad. The keyboard has keys separated by the case molding. It is not a full size keyboard, but I find the Chiclet-like keys helps prevent pressing more than one key at a time when typing; it also looks very cool.

I like a fast computer and this Acer has a lot horsepower for its price range since it has an Intel Core i5, instead of a Core i3. This means it comes with Intel's Turbo Boost technology. I believe the Turbo Boost makes a big difference in a laptop where power consumption is directly related to battery life. Most of the time a lot of horsepower isn't needed, e.g. web surfing, so battery power is saved. But when you need to open or run a demanding program like MATLAB (you'll see I love MATLAB) then Turbo Boost really shines and everything will run faster.

I took this computer to another level by upgrading to a solid-state hard drive and highly recommend this. The SSD makes boot up incredibly fast. (Note about installing Windows via USB: Format a USB (>4GB) with FAT32. Then extract a Windows Installation ISO to the USB using 7-zip. Super simple :)(Note 2: or use Clonezilla to clone the Windows that ships with the drive onto the new one.). With this setup the computer is very snappy. The computer boots in about 5 seconds. MATLAB opens on my laptop faster than my desktops!

I did not want to spend more than $800 on a new laptop. This laptop perfectly fits my computing needs and wants without breaking the budget. I think it is as cool as a computer can be without being a Macbook, which this computer clearly used as an inspiration. I don't believe in spending top-of-the-line money for laptops, because the dollar goes further in a desktop and laptops don't have as much longevity due to wear and tear (I'm pretty rough on laptops. They get banged around in my backpack when I bike around or travel). However, being unwilling to spend enough can result in an impotent laptop: more than a Chromebook (which are awesome in their own way, but specialized), yet not quite powerful enough for doing more than surf the web, write docs, and make slides; having a computer powerful enough to run MATLAB (or a similarly demanding program like Photoshop) was important to me. The Aspire V5-171 has met my needs and surpassed my expectations. It represents a fantastic value: it combines computing power and great aesthetics into a very convenient and mobile form factor.

The only caveat I can think of is this is not a "gamer's" laptop. However, it has the best integrated graphics chip Intel offers and will play a lot of modern games on the lowest visual settings at decent frame rates.

Finally, there are a few miscellaneous features that further prove how this laptop is the complete package. In addition to an HDMI port, there is also a VGA port. I think it is great to have both, because there is now the flexibility of giving a presentation on an HD screen or an older projector without needing to tote around extra adapters. There is also a USB 3.0 port to help future proof this machine. Another nice unheralded feature is the power cord, which does not have a "Ghostbusters brick". Instead it has the adapter plug directly into the wall; this seems to have reduced the size of the power cord and represents to me less of a trip hazard. My only wish is that the power cord would connect to the laptop using a magnet ala Apple (the ultimate in trip prevention), but I don't mind so much because this laptop comes in at such a nice price.

It might be helpful to describe my PREVIOUS computer. For the last two plus years I have been using an Acer one, 10.5" notebook. I had upgraded the ram to 2 GB. I never had anything that small before, but really I liked the size, and also the ACER quality (for the price).

I did a lot of research before I bought this new ACER. I'm a tightwad and I didn't want to pay for any more than I needed. After the first week I am totally pleased.

One of the problems with the previous notebook was the undersized keys and keyboard. The move up to 11.5 inches has allowed for full sized, fully spaced keys. I'm a writer and I need a real keyboard that I can use anywhere. Someone else referred to these keys as "chiclets". Yes, they protrude up individually through the casing. They're very easy to type on. It verges on fun. The only thing that concerns me is that they may accumulate dirt, which may be difficult to get out. But, that can't be any worse than most other keyboards.

I don't do any gaming; So, the 6 GB is really great. The processor and RAM are quite adequate for word processing, spreadsheets, surfing, and watching Netflix.

It is super slim, portable and very light. Note, however, that the power cable is on the right side. I would prefer the left, but it's not a big deal.

The screen quality is very good for the price. The size of the screen is perfect. It is the smallest possible screen for a real keyboard. It is big enough for all the programs to run without size problems.

In regard to software: I was very skeptical of W8. I spent 3 or 4 hours familiarizing myself with it. I finally got it set up. Basically I only see the APPS screen when I boot. I go straight from there to a (more or less) familiar window's desktop. It's working OK, but I'm thinking about defecting to Linux Ubuntu.

I also may install an SSD drive when I do that. This is not because I am dissatisfied with what came in the box. I think it's a great value for what I paid.

Now, a word to the wise about MS office. MS is really trying to rope everyone who needs office into annual fees, high prices, and so forth. I refuse to do it.

I first tried Open Office, but soon learned that they (apache? I think) are not keeping it up. I had trouble with migrating excel files and formatting. But, Libre Office is really great. They're on top of it. It's open source. It's free and it works. It doesn't have all the features of the later versions of office, but for my needs, it is just fine.

I tried the W8 and to date I have no objection.

I bought this to supplement my home computer and so far it has performed amazingly! Smooth, fast start ups and the least issues of any new computer I've ever had. Has been able to handle some newer games that don't need insane processor power like Diablo III and Starcraft II. I also have zero issues using google chrome with multiple windows open and word documents and spreadsheets.

I would give this laptop a Four except that its battery life is quite poor. After adjusting the power settings for minimum power, I have trouble getting more than three hours from it. Acer should have give it a larger battery. Acer doesn't have a larger battery available for after market either.

Like the machine, hate the battery!
