Letratag LT-100H Personal Handheld Abc Label Maker

Letratag LT-100H Personal Handheld Abc Label MakerMy new years resolutin was to be more organized. As such with the purchase of my new label maker I set out on a quest to ensure that everything was put in it's proper place, labled and organized. I am well on my way to my goal with the help of my new label-maker. You won't be disappoinnted.

This was a Christmas present about two years ago. It's been great. The only thing I wish was that the keys were arranged in qwert rather than alphabetical. It tends to give a 'low battery' warning early, but it has a pretty good battery life. My ONLY complaint is that versus the Brother version, which I've used at elsewhere, I find pealing the backing off the tape harder.

Buy Letratag LT-100H Personal Handheld Abc Label Maker Now

Just picked one of these up at the grocery store for about $19, and it won't actually print. Normally, I would assume user error, but the instructions are dead simple and its behavior is erratic, so I am pretty sure it is defective.

More detail: I put in the batteries, put in the tape, turned it on, typed in a quick test message and pressed "Print". At first, this would cause it to shut off the screen, make a little tape feeding noise and then turn off without printing anything. Then I popped the tape out and put it back in to make sure it wasn't misaligned somehow (it snaps in nicely, so I can't see how it would be). Now, when I press print, the screen turns off and it feeds about a foot of tape, still without actually printing anything (or displaying any sort of "Printing..." message, etc.).

I read a few of the reviews on another Amazon listing of the same product. It seems that plenty of people who got working models are happy with it, but for me (and for the others with similar problems), it's a bust. Buyer beware!

ATC Fashion and New Aluminum Case wireless bluetooth keyboard Case Stand Cover for Google nexus 7

ATC Fashion and New Aluminum Case wireless bluetooth keyboard Case Stand Cover for Google nexus 7Delivery from vendor was actually faster than projected. I've tried a couple of bluetooth wireless keyboards with an iPad and have been very disappointed with the mushiness of them. I really like this one. Obviously it's not the size of a regular keyboard, but it's certainly useable. I love the matching rubberized outer casing to match the back of the Nexus 7. The only minor glitch I had was having to run the bluetooth pair routine a second time, because it didn't pair the first time.

WizCom SuperPen Professional, Portable Business Library

WizCom SuperPen Professional, Portable Business LibraryThe Wizcom SuperPen Professional because it could scan many pages of text and had an on-board dictionary that can pronounce words. The SuperPen Professional concept is fantastic, but it did not work as easily as I would have liked. (...), I would expect the SuperPen not to be so cumbersome to operate.

My first problem was getting the SuperPen Professional to link to my computer using the included Serial connector cable so I could upload scanned text to my computer. Although I loaded the software from the included CD-ROM on to my new Windows XP computer which had very few other applications or devices loaded on it, the computer could not connect to the pen. I followed the instructions to set both the pen and computer's baud rate to 115200, but this didn't resolve the problem. The Wizcom website suggested downloading the latest software version, but I couldn't find a link to download the applicable software. An email to Tech Support explained that the lastest software version is available at:and scroll down to Install or upgrade your Desktop by downloading and running the QuickLink Desktop installation program (4.9 Mb). Click on the link and save the file to your hard drive.

Once the file is saved to your hard drive, double-click it's icon and follow the instructions.

A call to Tech Support resolved my connection problem. It turned out that I needed to have the flow control on my computer's serial port set to hardware flow control. This was easy enough to do. I just wish that this advice had been published in the manual or on the web site. Ultimately, I did get the computer connection to work with the included serial port.

When connecting, I got an error in the Quicklink Desktop software until I disabled an option for Microsoft Outlook on the QuickLink Desktop application.

I'm having difficulty getting accurate scans with this pen when scanning articles in trade magazines. The articles have fairly small text that is divided into three narrow columns. Since I have to scan each short line separately, it is quite time-consuming to scan selections from an article. I often have to scan three lines to capture a complete sentence. When I couple the slowness of the scanning process with the effort needed to correct mis-spelled or incorrectly read scans, it becomes faster to use a computer to re-type my notes than it is to scan them. The user interface on the pen for making corrections on this device is awkward.

The dictionary feature is nice, but it was more of a hassle to properly scan the word in question than what I wanted to go to to get a definition. Perhaps a separate electronic dictionary where you could type in the word would be easier.

I got the best results when holding the SuperPen at a 90 degree angle to the text.

I used the scanner to scan content from a book, and found that the scanner was more efficient when scanning pages with longer lines of text than it did when I scanned magazine articles.

The SuperPen Professional is a great concept, but I prefer that it was easier to operate.

Been working with mine for about a week, and am disappointed to report that the negative reviews are spot on.

I too had trouble linking it to the PC. Ran into the hardware flow thing. Easy enough to solve after an email to customer support, but they were vague enough that someone less experienced with the windows device manager might have trouble.

But the main reason I don't like it is that scanning is slow and not accurate enough. Really, you're better off with dragon speaking naturally, or just typing.

The whole thing feels like it's 15 years behind the times. The interface is horrible. The PC connection is deadly slow. The software is junk. (Can we at least import notes into a text file? WTF is a .qnt file? Now I've got to screw around getting that into a program I actually can use!) One really has the sense that these guys aren't putting any effort into keeping up with technology. These guys should look at an iPod. Given how much they skimped on everything else (program, connectivity, interface, screen, memory, chip, etc) I have no reason to think that this is a particularly good scanner.

A friend of mine has a C-Pen 20. That scans much faster, but has to be plugged in. C-pen used to sell portable versions, but I emailed their American distributer and found that they only have the wired one.

Total disappointment. As a graduate student, this device could have changed my life. Instead, it'll sit in a drawer, reminding me of the money I blew on it.

Bottom line: useless

My wife purchased this because she is studying for the GRE and GMAT and spending a lot of time looking up words in a dictionary while reading. The amount of time she saves using this pen is amazing. We haven't used any of the software that comes with it and don't really plan to, but for scanning words in books, even relatively small print, it works pretty quickly and has about a 95% correct scan and definition rate. The pronunciation tool works very well too. We were nervous of the price tag, but after using it for a week, I'd say the price is pretty reasonable. It also comes with a convenient carrying case (similar to a cd faceplate case for a car cd player). The only time it doesn't work on a scan is if you don't scan evenly, or if a word is split between two lines with a hyphen. If you use the proper method of scanning, which is pretty self-explanatory, you shouldn't have any trouble. If you're looking for a product to speed up your studying, this is it.

I read mixed reviews about Superpen Professional, but decided to take the chance and buy one at last christmas. I am so glad that I bought it and that too with a rebate (although it took 5 months before I got the rebate $$$).

The product works great, I have tried scanning at various speeds, and in reverse direction too ! It almost never fails to scan (works 98% of the time with great accuracy). I guess they could use a bit faster processor, but not a big deal. I am happy with the product and use it frequently. I have tried using it on books, magazines, newspaper articles. I have tried various standard fonts. It fails to work when the background is dark colored (white/off-white background works like a charm). It also fails when trying to read italic text. The scanning accuracy increased as I used it more often, AND much more after I read the manual to understand the correct style of holding and using it. I recommend to read the manual before using it, and be patient for 1st few hours. Once you get the hang of it, using it will be very easy and useful.

I've had it for a day and have not even attempted to connect via cable to the PC. BTW, the unit came with serial cable, and Wizcom is sending a USB cable for free. I am hapy with IR. I beam scanned text to my PDA and the PC. I can also receive text files from the PDA and the PC.

It has two main functions Dictionary/Thesaurus and scanning text to be trasfered. I bought it primarily for the first option and i order to hear pronunciation of and meaning of words I do not recongize. Its speaker is not too loud, so you need to bring it closer to the ear, but it has regular L/R earbuds with volume. I set the options to automatically pronounce a word after I scan it and show definitions. Medical, Computer, Wall Street, etc dictionaries are alredy pre-loaded. You can select in which order they interpret the word. It can scan and pronounce entire sentences.

The text scanning feature is good too, and accuracy is decent. Great for the road/airplane, particularly with a PDA.

It has "information" option where you can check remaining memory and battery life (in volts).

Before buying, I read the manual online at

Penpower WorldPenScan Pro Intelligent Handheld Text Scanner with Babylon translator

Penpower WorldPenScan Pro Intelligent Handheld Text Scanner with Babylon translatorA word of warning. The picture shown is not the PRO model.

The pro model is mac compatible. This picture shows the base model which is NOT Mac compatible.

Seeing the base model in action daily, my friend who sits next to me in a class, I am amazed by the speed, accuracy, reliability of this little device.

He uses it to scan chinese text from books and syllabus.

It is incredibly fast. The accuracy increases if your hand scans in a normal slower speed.

but if you are in a hurry, the text can come out as gibberish and take a while to review.

If you are student who needs to write a lot of book reports or do a lot of research in the library, this is a MUST have tool.

I want to buy the Mac compatible model (since I am not sure if this one listed is Mac compatible) and will add more review once I get one.

Top recommendations!!!

Sent receipt and mail-in rebate inside the allotted time however was told that they never received it and its out of their hands. They also said I should understand that I need to send things in timely manner and if I want I can check my status again at their website. I have no avenue other then to post poor review here.

Device works ok. Main purpose was to scan Chinese, Korean, and Japanese characters (from business receipts) into Google translate. This works okay but does require many do over's to catch the characters.

I bought one of these to use at work so that I could enter all work-related calendar issues and sync right there on the spot. Be aware that this will work with a regular Handspring Visor (not just the Neo, as the description claims) so feel free to grab several of these!

Belkin Compaq iPAQ Travel Kit (F8Q2001)

Belkin Compaq iPAQ Travel KitThe travel kit works well. It's a little confusing to use-notably it uses a red LED when connected and a green LED when disconnected which is exactly the opposite from what I would have expected. But I've used it with no compaint.

The first time I used it, I plugged my iPaq HW6515 overnight so it would be fully charged the next day. I didn't know it stopped charging after about 20 minutes. I was left with an almost dead phone the next day. There's a button on the USB cable, just make sure it is set so the LED is red. There is no documentation included, so I'm not even sure what this button does. I was a bit surprised to read a health warning on the label instructing to wash your hands after touching the product because it contains lead--not good.

Another thing I did not like was that this is an HP supported product for the HW6515, but the charger doesn't fit as properly and securely as the one included with the PDA. Overall an acceptable product, now I am just waiting for HP to sell their own car adapters.

BoxWave Slimline Capacitive Stylus for Apple iPad 3, new iPad (3rd Generation), iPad 2, iPad 1, and

BoxWave Slimline Capacitive Stylus for Apple iPad 3, new iPad, iPad 2, iPad 1, and Amazon Kindle FireThis stylus writes and draws very well on my iPad. The pocket clip came off the first time I attempted to clip it on a pocket. Boxwave offered for me to purchase another stylus and send the defective one and in they would initiate a refund or I could do a straight exchange. This is to send the stylus back and after they received it they would send another one. I responded to the email & agreed to the straight exchange. 5 days later I received an email response with a link to a mailing label that prints out on 1/2 of an 8.5 x 11 page. So my choice now is to keep the stylus without a pocket clip, but with a short lanyard attached, or to buy a shipping envelope to accommodate the large return label. I chose to keep the broken one and deal with it rather than to absorb any additional expense to secure shipping materials and to make a trip to UPS.

SMK-Link Wireless Ultra-mini Touchpad Keyboard (VP6364)

SMK-Link Wireless Ultra-mini Touchpad KeyboardFirst we had a full sized bluetooth keyboard and mouse combo for our HTPC, but that was just too unwieldy and bulky (this is in our closet now). Then we had a "gyro" mouse controller similar to this, but returned that since the mouse was really awkward to use and inconsistent. We got this instead and have stuck with it for almost a year, so that's why I doubled the stars given.

I can't recommend it to anyone. We don't sit that far away from the HTPC; maybe 12-14 feet. Even if I stand up and walk close to the receiver I might have to press buttons repeatedly to get them to work. Maybe 20% of the times we try to use it the connection will be stable and it'll work like a dream. The rest of the time you have to press 1 button, check to see if it registered which could take up to a second, then repeat the press, or press the next key. We mostly resort to using our XBox (as a media extender) instead and try to avoid typing things into this PC.

This market is still wide open as far as I'm concerned. Maybe that Lenovo thing will be the next try, but I'm very hesitant to drop another $60 on this HTPC controller experiment.

For reference, I'm using it with a Windows 7 machine that has a 1st gen core I5 and 8GB of RAM. The machine runs like a dream except for our wireless keyboards so far.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I have been remodeling the main bedroom of the house and have a Samsung LN46A650 46-Inch 1080p 120 Hz LCD HDTV with Red Touch of Color waiting to go in. I also am using the entire South wall to house music home studio gear I have been compiling for quite some time. Pro Tools 9 Software which is a Digital Audio Workstation utilizes a split screen function so you can place your mixer full screen on one screen, and the recording console on the other. I run Windows Media Center PC in the other room which is my main entertainment experience, but since I am running the free over the air waves antennae on roof, getting the highest resolution possible due to Cisco-Linksys Media Center Extender with DVD with its up scaling built right in, I don't get a lot of movies, or should I say none at all. So rather than subscribe to Net Flix or whatever I decided to join Amazon Prime so I get 1000's of free movies to download and watch on the set plus unlimited free 2 day shipping.

What does this have to do with the Wireless Ultra-Mini? In a word, everything. When I am sitting at the console, or getting ready to record a track, I can use the Wireless Ultra-Mini (WUM) to key in a track. I don't have to race across the room and pick up my instrument. If I want to stop and do a retake, just hit the mini for complete control. I can create new tracks, redo old ones, everything a full blown keyboard can do and from across the room. The WUM is small enough to sit on the side of a music stand. Since I am viewing the recording controls on a 46 inch big screen as my PC monitor, across the room computing is a sweet option.

Also when I am in bed and want to watch a movie, I have the WUM sitting on a night stand not taking up much space. It's a Windows Media Center controller. I can conveniently surf the web on the big screen also is to pick up the TV remote and choose the PC input. I have HDMI output on the PC, and then from the bed the WUM acts like a full blown keyboard and Windows Media Center controller. If I am importing recorded TV into the bedroom Media Center PC right from the living room WMCPC I can control that from the WUM as well. So all of the options are open.

Ok so that is a few of many options that are opened up and made convenient from the WUM. Now about the function. It sits very comfortably in your hands. It has replaceable batteries and an on-off button on the back so you can preserve battery life when you are not using it. I have another unit like this that only has a built in rechargeable in it that you cannot access and that requires you to constantly recharge it which takes an overnight charging; so you could be stuck without a remote when you need it most. The WUM is only a quick battery change away.

I find the built in touch screen mouse pad to be ergonomically positioned properly and has a very nice feel to it with the mouse behaving just the way you would hope it would. I am not a fan of laptop mouse pads with their touch sensitivity but this one does the job so well you wouldn't mind using it.

Some of the features built in will take some getting used to, but I find the form and function to be very intuitive. Of course, just like anything else there is a tiny learning curve to working any keyboard with lots of remote functions. So the WUM is just the right size for kicking around on top of the covers, and it has a range of 30 feet so that will suit all but the largest rooms in range. I love it and for the price I am thinking about getting one for the living room as well. Highly reccommended.

If wanting to use this in place of a larger, wireless keyboard as a "remote control" for your computer, as I do when I stream wideo to my TV, it does just about everything well EXCEPT the touchpad does not have the capability to tap or double-tap to select an entry, such as opening IE. You always have to use one of the "mouse" buttons at the top. Rather than just comfortably resting the devise in the palm of your hand, this makes you have to grasp it with your left hand in order to click the left "mouse button." The ability to select and tap is what touchpads are all about and to not have that capability, again IMO, makes it an imcomplete product design. I called product support to be sure I wasn't overlooking something and they confirmed that the touchpad was not "tap" capable.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program The product was a great idea and a good layout but ... I tried using it for several weeks with my Android PC-on-a-stick for my 50 inch TV I have setup in my livingroom with a few disappointing performance shortcomings. The problem was the range was not good at all. I had the receiver out in the open but still could only get a couple yards/meters. I found that I had to walk up to the TV to get closer to the receiver.

I also found the buttons on the front edge of the keyboard was not a good idea. I often would accidentally click them. Then when I handed it to my non-technical wife she had no clue what the buttons were for as they are not marked.

The other buttons were a good layout but they are kind of too small. When I handed it to my father in-law he could not consistently press the right button ... and it would often register the key press mulllllllltiple times, if you knnnnnow whaaaat III mean :)

I am sorry but I don't recommend this product. But I do give it three stars because it is a good first revision.

Happy Shopping!

If you are looking for a small keyboard / mouse to run your HTPC then this device should work for you. If you need something to not only run your HTPC but use for general web browsing activities this probably is the wrong product.

Pros Small, works out of the box with Windows 7, mouse pad is very functional and if you play console video games it will feel very comfortable in your hand.

Cons Limited range and easily blocked by objecs such as your computer case, your leg or your small child. I have the nMediapc HTPC 8000 case (very nice, looks like an old radio) so I had hoped to have the usb receiver in the back of the case. Unfortunately that is not possible as the signal gets completely blocked.

If you plan on surfing the web for long periods of time or general computer usage then this device is not ideal. Due to it's size your hands will start to cramp (say after 35-45 minutes of use). It's also important to note that it is not back lit so if you keep your room dark while watching movies it may be hard to navigate.

Tabletop Multi-port Charging Station for the Blackberry 8800 8820 8830 - Clean design charges up to

Tabletop Multi-port Charging Station for the Blackberry 8800 8820 8830 - Clean design charges up to four devices at once. Built using Gomadic TipExchangeI must have every gadget under the sun. Blackberry, LG EnV, Sony PSP, iPod, this charging station not only charges them all at the same time, it also doesn't require the charging cords of those devices as most others do. It will really come in handy when I travel, as it will fit neatly into a suitcase or overnight bag and only requires one plug to charge everything. I've always had problems finding outlets for all my stuff in hotel rooms. The only reason this didn't get 5 stars--there was no instructions nor was there a legend to tell me what each tip in the bag of tips was for. This made it alittle tricky to figure out which tip will fit each device. A card with fitment info for each tip would help ease the worry of accidently putting the wrong tip into your expensive cell phone or other electronic device and damaging it. I wound up comparing my gadget chargers with the bag o'tips and soon had four devices charging from just one wall socket. I was pleasantly surprised to find that there was a tip for every device I had, and plenty more.

This is a nice idea, but you need to be careful what the charging requirements are for your devices. I quickly found this was great for our older (non-smart) cell phones, but it did not work well for our blackberry devices. It did not provide sufficient current to fully charge our blackberries. The battery indicators would show they were fully charged, but they wouldn't last the whole day. Looking at the chargers that came with the BBs showed they are 700mA whereas this charger is only 500mA. Of course by the time I figured out what was happening, it was too late to return it. So check the charging requirements of your devices before buying this.
