I was looking for a case that could handle the rigors of being stuffed in available space in the front seat of an Ambulance and keep my netbook safe and secure and damage free, the rooCase does a pretty good job. The netbook fits perfectly and all sides are padded to prevent damage. The length of the zippered opening allows for easy access to pull the computer out and to put it away quickly when a call comes in. It has a holder for a mouse and added space for accessories such as a light, cell phone and pens, there is just enough room to carry the plug in charger. I gave it 4 stars only because it could use just a little additional space since the sides bulge out a bit with the mouse and charger inserted, but this case does the job that I needed it to do and it does it well.

I have been running this unit for about a month now without a hitch. I installed two Western Digital Caviar Green WD20EARX 2-TB drives in it. The drives formatted fully, initialized, and synced perfectly. The Memeo Backup Premium that ships with the unit is easy to use and keeps my data files backed up behind the scenes on all our PCs.My recommendations for a hassle-free setup and installation are: 1) Install two new drives before turning on the unit. 2) Connect it to your network and plug it in. Allow it to take the time to completely start. 3) Install the included RAIDar software on one of your networked computers. 3) Allow RAIDar to automatically locate the device and then DON'T SKIP THE SETUP WIZARD with the RAIDar program and the Web-based system setup!! The unit will quickly format the first drive, but it will take several hours for it to sync the second drive initially. This is normal, so don't do anything else until this step is completed. 4) Once the unit is fully functioning, use the Web-based utility to update the unit to the latest firmware version. My unit arrived with firmware version 4.2.17. I had no problems updating it to the current 4.2.19; just follow the directions and don't interrupt the process.
I find the unit is very fast at transferring files and backups through my gigabit network. Even the energy-efficient "green" drives don't seem to slow it down. Seems like too many people get hung up about drive speed on these devices, when really the bottle neck is often your network throughput, not the drive's rotational speed or read/write speed. I even have the unit set to allow the drives to spin down after 15 minutes of non-use, and this doesn't seem to be a problem, at least not for backup. I can't speak about streaming media, as I have not tried that yet.)
The drive is sturdy and well-built. The only very minor negatives I can state are: 1) the power indicator light on the front of the unit (in the power switch) is just a bit too bright, but this doesn't really matter to me since I have the unit stored away in our network closet. 2) The two green drive indicator lights are a bit too dull and tiny to see easily.
I even connected an APC Back-UPS ES-750 battery backup unit to the device, using one of its USB connectors. The ReadyNAS recognized the UPS and allowed me to set the amount of battery reserve I will allow before the unit automatically shuts itself down in an orderly fashion.
The Web-based configuration utility allows you to control and monitor just about everything. You can even set up a daily schedule for turning the device on and off at various times. The utility shows information about the health of the drives, allows you to run diagnostic routines, and even calibrate the fan speed! It shows you the temperature of both drives as well as the CPU temperature and the system board temperature. You can set alerts that the system can send out to multiple e-mail addresses to notify you about drive problems and status.
I have used the drive to backup several computers on our network. I also used the open-source program, DriveImage XML, to create image files of our computers and store them on the ReadyNAS (for disaster recovery) without problems. This program works great with the ReadyNAS.
I haven't had the time to try out any of the streaming or file sharing features of the unit yet, but plan on installing the Logitech Squeezebox Server on it and will report back if I run into any problems with this or have any issues with streaming media in the future.
Until then, I believe this unit is an excellent network-attached storage device that can meet the needs of any home or small business user. I am very satisfied with it.

This is the second ReadyNAS product I've owned. I had a ReadyNAS Duo with 2 750GB drives. Worked dependably for over 3 years hosting CDs for streaming to a Logitech Transporter Logitech Transporter® SE: Network Music Player (Black). I decided to upgrade to the Ultra Plus and 2TB drives to add my photo collection and TimeMachine backups.Setting up the new environment using RAIDiator and Frontview was straight forward and hassle free. The old and new units are managed in an almost identical fashion so the interfaces were familiar. I updated the unit with the new Squeezebox software, set up TimeMachine and established preferred settings without issue. I consulted the documentation for each category to ensure that I was using the optimum settings according the the recommendations and my particular needs. The documentation was clear and comprehensive for both hardware and software. What I immediately noticed was the improved speed and lowered noise level of the NAS and drives (Western Digital Caviar Green 2 TB Desktop Hard Drive WD20EARX).
There was one status setting which confused me and for which I could find no documentation. I placed a ticket in to Netgear for clarification. Gotta say that the response was rapid and the technician was engaged, professional and knowledgeable. Impressed by Netgear support process and staff.
Think I may attempt to activate the PhotosII service and create photo albums the family could access. An interesting and creative stretch for me.
I've not used other NAS devices but this one gets my recommendation.

I have been looking for a central storage unit to handle the backup of a Mac Mini, Macbook Pro and an iMac. This not only acts as a central backup for all three, it is an amazing media streamer. I am able to stream to my Roku using the Plex add on and can watch all my ripped movies and home movies on the Roku WITHOUT turning on a computer. Before the ReadyNAS I would have to trudge upstairs to my iMac that had all my movies on it and turn it on. Now I am always ready to watch a movie because the ReadyNAS is always running. It does not use much in the way off electricity. I measured 25 watts when running with two 5900rpm Seagate Green 2TB Barracuda drives.Tivo integration is great, and automatically backs up any show i tag as "Keep until I Delete". Crazy storage that should last and last.
Prior to this I had a My Book Live 1TB, which was great but I needed redundancy in case a drive failed. This unit gives me that, and much more powerful streaming.
There is also a very active add-on community with a slew of apps for the ReadyNAS. Firmware updates are very active and constantly being improved.

Been running this now for two months and it works perfectly. I don't load it much but I have played with a number of features and best of all there have been no problems! I had trouble initially with a pair of 2GB Hitachi deskstar drives ordered from Amazon. Both arrived non functional but i'm sure this was due to poor packaging + shipping to the northeast in the winter. So I went to Best buy and bought two 2GB Caviar drives for $99 each and they work great. I'm using the ReadyNas for my Adobe Lightroom photo store, a place to copy my Lightroom catalog backups to, and for everything else in the house like music, videos, and file storage. Haven't tried the included backup client software yet for the kids Pcs. Tried the Bit torrent and its nice to let the downloads run in the background at night when we shut our PCs down. But it is sometimes hard to find the torrent URL you want. Anyway, works great is really quit. Have it in the basement where the temp is constant 65 degrees-hope it lasts forever.Save 22% Off

I have only had this case for a few hours. In that short time I have come to feel a comfort and satisfaction I never had with two other cases. It just works! It is easy to hold. The feel of the product is comfortable in texture as well as the way it gives a sense of fitting. By fitting I mean the balance between rigid and flaccid. The case bend easily but still seems safe. The other cases I have had seem to be designed for placing on a surface. This case seems to be built to be handled and held. I am very attracted to these nuances of design. I had not thought about that aspect of my use. If you hold your Tablet mostly this is a great case for hand held comfort and a sense of not falling out or some other disaster. I have had various strap arrangements that strain and tire my hand quickly. This case rolls like a newspaper and I found it comfortable and not tiring to hold.I like colors. Bright colors I like even more. I am writing this review so soon after the first purchase because I am back to get the same thing for the Nexus 7. Yes, I recommend it.
As mentioned in other reviews of similar products, there is a noticeable artificial-leather smell which is strong enough to impart itself to anything in contact with it -your hands, shirt, etc. It's not terrible (anyone who has been inside a discount shoe store knows this smell), and it does appear to be fading, so I don't think this should necessarily discourage you from your purchase.
The "vegan synthetic leather" (really, we need to let the world know that this petroleum product is 'vegan'?) is soft, and is stitched at the edges to look like leather. Looks nice, has generally professional appearance, and the rigid backing (plastic sandwiched between the pleather exterior and suede-like "microfiber" interior) gives it a solid feel.
(All comments in the next paragraph with respect to position are referenced from holding the tablet lid-open, hinge to the left, in portrait mode)
I wanted a case that didn't cover the bezel, and this doesn't disappoint -the tablet is held in place with six curved tabs, one at each of the four corners and one in the middle of each of the two shorter sides. They fit very snugly, though one of the corners doesn't quite come all the way up and around the edge, rather it stops flush with it unfortunately, this one is the top-right, which makes it seem like the unit could slip out to the right and fall should that one corner pop loose. The topmost clip seems to keep the unit from doing so (as those 'side' clips do have substantial wrap-around), however, and to be perfectly fair I've given it some good test-shakes and could not dislodge anything. I'd feel more comfortable if that clip were just a fraction of an inch longer, but it does not seem like a defect.
The same thought might apply to the two corner-tabs closest to the hinge if you use the tablet in the landscape viewing mode pictured in the sample images, since that would involve you removing the unit from those tabs and replacing it multiple times, potentially fatiguing the clip strength. Also, using the case in this fashion creases the pleather on the back of the case; if this worries you, both situations are easily avoided by not using this feature, and instead "tenting" the case when you want to set it down in landscape mode.
The auto on/off works perfectly, with the unit correctly shutting off its display when the case is closed and waking when the case opens. All ports are reachable with the unit in the case, and it cuts out around the rear camera/flash/mic -a requirement for taking pictures without removing the N10 from the RooCase. The "hand band" for use when the lid is completely open and folded back is a nice touch, though it may feel awkward depending upon your hand size, and it shows signs of stretching already with very light use; I'm not certain this strap will survive long-term, but I also don't think it's a design necessity.
Overall -product is exactly as advertised, seems to secure the tablet well enough that I feel comfortable using it, doesn't obscure the bezel at all, and protects the tablet when closed. While I'm sure the price is promotional and will go up ($0.01 right now!!!), it's an amazing bargain at this time, and I'd still recommend it when the price increases by few dollars.

This case fits our Nexus 10 perfectly, and all of the stand positions are stable and work well. (If you want to see how it works, there is a nice video review under the Kindle Fire).I was looking for a case that provided good protection without interfering with screen taps, and multiple stand positions. I was also trying to avoid the noxious smell that is noted under many other product reviews. This one met all of those criteria. The fake leather is supple and has only a very light smell, the folding mechanism works better than I expected, and there is soft material extending 1/8 of an inch around the outside edges to provide protection. On the inside the material stops 1/8 inch from the edge of the touchscreen so that none of the touchscreen is obscured. The magnetic auto on/off works well.
Since the leather surrounds the screen,it does take a little bit more precision to swipe the top of the screen for the status bar. you have to get your finger up against the bottom of the leather to get to the top of the touchscreen. If you've had your Nexus quite a while, this may take a little getting used to.
Note that when you fold the case for the vertical position or for the rolled horizontal positions, the felt gets folded to the outside, otherwise it doesn't work. It's hard to tell from the pictures.

When I ordered this I knew going in to it that this would be my back up case. Since this was ($.01) and basically 5 bucks totall i thought it would be worth it as a nice cheap alternative. There was extremely quick delievery (4 days?) so that is why I will give them a star. The smell is pretty bad, not the worst but bad enought that it will cause your tablet to stink even when it is not in the case. The smell hasnt gone away and it has been 3 days but im sure it eventually will. As a back up and for FIVE DOLLARS it is worth it. I like the holding flap and its well made (but made with cheap materials) im still waiting for the case i want but I wish this didnt smell so bad. I am usually cool about smelling cases because it happens but this is a tad bit too strong. Thanks for the quick delievery tho!

Did not work in my iPad2 with my Duracell 16gb CF Card from a Canon 7D. I had hoped it would work, it would be wonderful for those few times you need quick access to a picture.
On my first attempt, the reader wasn't recognized, and when, on my second attempt, I tried to transfer pictures I had uploaded to a CF card from my computer, the iPad 2 couldn't find them.
I went back and tried again, taking actual photos on a 8Gb CF2 card with my Nikon D200. Worked like a charm
Apparently the first time, I hadn't put the files into a folder that the iPad could find and recognize.
It imported my .NEF files perfectly, and iPad displayed them just fine!

I tried several times and maybe every now and then it would show the "Camera" tab but nothing appeared.Easy connection to upload photos directly to iPad from CF card. Just plug and play. RII Mini Wireless Bluetooth Keyboard (Built-in TouchPad/Laser Pointer) - Black
This is a great little Bluetooth keyboard. As other reviewers have stated it's a little tricky to set up the phone on android (and Windows 7). The instruction booklet that came with the keyboard said there is an "android.apk" to install on Android, this isn't true (they are only drivers for Windows Mobile and Nokia). It's an easy work-around though.Pairing Android:
1) Turn on the keyboard and long press the bluetooth key on the top left till the indicator light starts blinking
2) Click scan for devices on your Android device
3) Select the newly found Macro Keyboard
4) Enter "0000" as the pairing code on your android
5) Enter "0000" and then the "Enter" key on the keyboard to complete the pairing process.
When pairing with Windows 7 if your Bluetooth drivers create a pairing code automatically for you just enter the code shown in Windows on the keyboard followed by the enter key (or just type whatever pairing code you want in Windows and repeat it on the keyboard).
All-in-all this is a great little keyboard. I would have given it 5 stars if it did actually come with the android drivers and had better documentation.
I'm looking for a driver that will create a visual mouse cursor on my Droid X to make better use of the touchpad. If I find one I'll post it here!

***UPDATE: So I've been using this thing for a couple of months now and I really have to say that the range that they are claiming is just a farce. As long as you have a direct line of site and don't cover up the antenna (which is located above the track pad) then you might get 20 feet, but it's very doubt full. you'll start getting a lot of miss-keys and the track pad becomes almost useless. However, this is the only feature that I think was over stated. The rest is absolutely perfect and I just bought another one. Just please don't think that it will work through walls or from more than 10-12 feet. *****I'm writimg this review usimg my new Rii Mini. First there seems to be a little confusion about the name of this product. the description calls it a ProMini, on the web you will find it referred to as the MagicPro Mini and the box it comes in calls it the Rii Mini. So for the purposes of this review I'm just goimg to refer to it as the Rii.
next, just as a piece of background, i got this for use with my HTPC. my monitor is my 46" plasma in my livingroom and i wanted something that would mean i didnt have juggle my mouse and keayboard around on the couch.
Lets talk about the CONS first, because that list is much shorter.
RANGE: so i found that the "30" feet claim is pretty much bupkiss, but who can see from 30 feet? at a range of about 10-12, the distance from my couch to my TV it works like a dream.
SIZE: this is both a pro and a con. i love how small it is but the placement of the trackpad on the right make typimg very difficult unless you an avid txt'er, which i am, so ive adapted pretty quickly. but its definitely something that could have been better thought out. also, the trackpad is just a shade too small so there's a lot of repositioning. finally, im not proof readimg this review because im illustrating the point that if you're going to be typimg a great deal, you're prolly goimg to end up with som significant typos.
BACK-LIGHT: finally, i have very little bad to say about the backlight. it just needs a timer and most importantly YOUR BACKLIGHT WILL NOT WORK IF YOU ARE OUT OF RANGE OF THE BLUTOOTH RECEIVER... no its not defective, its just made that way. im really glad i figured that out before trying to return it.
Now to the pros.... all i can do is say i really love this thing. the backlight makes it perfect for use in the dark, im kind of a cave dwelling techno nerd so i never have any lights on. the buttons on the keyboard are big enough and resposive enough to accomodate even the largest fingers, my friend "tiny" who is 6'7 was able to use it passably. i love that it works just like a normal keyboard. if you hit alt+F4, it closes windows just like its supposed to and Ctrl+c and +v copy and past just like they should. Alt+Tab works perfectly as well.
the built in media keys seem to work great with VLC, i never use WMP because its the devil. the track pad is actually pretty well made. its a little touchy and does have a built in acceleration. but once you adapt to it, its really pretty nice. you just have to get used to the fact that you're going to be using two hands for a lot of things. the 90 degree flip is kinda neat too. not sure its really usefull unless youre presenting, but its a cute idea.
i love the laser pointer, but then thats because im a cat owner and there is no better cat toy. otherwise i think it would be a feature that most people wont ever use.
set up is really pretty simple. since its bluetooth, its a little more complicated but you just habe to tell windows to do a seach for bluetooth devices when the icon appears in your system try and then mash the bluetooth button on the keyboard so they sync. all-in-all, not real tough.
In shourt i got this because i didnt wanna shell out the $100+ for the diNovo Mini and so far im really happy with it. i would definitely recomend it. the only reason it isnt 5 stars is because my wrist is really startimg to get sore from all this typing. but if your looking for somthing to make your HTPC a lot more fum, this is the business.This product has instructions on setting it up to work with an android device. After installing the apk you have to activate it. Well the activation didn't work for me and I have found that there are a lot of other people having the same issue. It says to make sure your connected to the internet. I have data and even turned on WIFI. I read a comment that the company ran out of licenses for the software on android. I am going to have to contact the manufacturer to verify. The website at has little information and looks like it was thrown together real fast. This has me worried about support.
In windows 7 the keyboard works ok. It was tricky to get it working and there were some response delays. I love how it's back lit. When using the touch pad the pointer does not move smoothly like it would with a laptop touch pad. Still I find the product useful and do not regret buying it. For a presenter it would be nice to have the device, could easily put in in your pocket and the laser is handy. I think it will be good for my ps3 so long as it works. Haven't tried that yet. After further testing I have found that the range is very short compared to other bluetooth devices. On the Mac the response is much better, but you have to be within about 5 feet, you can go slightly further but then you start seeing problems.

I have been looking for a good way to control our HTPC from the couch and had thought that I finally found it. I first ordered the iPazzport "air mouse" with learning IR functionality iPazzPort 2.4GHz Mini Wireless Fly Air Mouse Keyboard with IR Remote. This was a fairly well designed product. I really enjoyed the backlit keyboard and found it easy to type. Setup could not have been easier and the range was good. Unfortunately, I did not enjoy the air mouse functionality. I find it much more difficult to use than touch pads that I have tried in the past. It was a good product, just not the one for me. I returned the product to seller and had no problems at all.Because I enjoyed the keyboard aspect of it, I decided to try out a very similar product: the Unisen iPazzPort KP-810-18R Wireless Keyboard and Touchpad with Learning Infrared (IR) Remote Control 2.4G RF Google TV CompatibleUnisen iPazzPort kp-810-18R which is very similar to the first, but has a touch pad. I purchased the product from an Amazon seller called Key to success. I received my order very quickly and it was packaged well. So far so good!
The product was awesome! In fact perfect! Not only does the keyboard work well, the touch-pad is great, the buttons are well designed, setup is as easy as it can be, and the IR learning remote is fantastic. This seemed to be just the product that I was looking for. Then after a week everything went south. For no apparent reason the lazer pointer button jammed and would not turn off. I was able to dislodge it with a sewing needle and was still committed to it being a great product. Then the next day the IR remote randomly stopped working. I would press a button and I would get a quick blink of the LED but then nothing. Touching a button would not do anything unless I took out the battery. Ok so maybe we are down to a 4 star review now. I was still enjoying the rest of the product.
Then the touch pad started working intermittently. Sometimes it worked great, and sometimes not at all. And then to top it all off, the battery stopped charging. How disappointing! All of the reviews of this product were great. Maybe I just got a lemon. These things happen. So I decided to contact the seller of the device (key to success)to request a return or exchange. My first contact was four days ago, and I got no response. My second contact was yesterday, and still no response. I would like to give this product another try, despite my concern that it might not last very long. This has all the makings of a great product. It's well designed, looks good, feels good, works well...for a while. If I am able to get in touch with the seller and get a replacement I will write another review. This should be a five star product all day long, but after breaking within a week, it's lucky to get two stars.
These are the steps;
1. press TV key once and the press SET key for 2 seconds until green light comes up.
2.choose the key you want the remote to learn EJ: press power key once and press power key on the other remote (the actual TV remote) then the green light will flash 3 times letting you know it has learned the code. Repeat the process per each keyI've had this for about a week. For my HTPC setup, I had been using a wireless keyboard and a IR universal remote. The keyboard was too big, and I don't like having a separate remote. This seemed like it could cover everything in a single device, which it pretty much has. At first, I couldn't get it to connect reliably to the computer from more than five feet away. I moved the dongle onto a the end of a 10M long active repeater USB cable far from the computer and now everything works great. Surprisingly good reception even from outside the room.
It packs a lot of functionality into one little device. The touchpad and all the keys seem to work well, except that the mute button doesn't do anything on my Win7 system. The touchpad also is very responsive. I love that it is rechargable -no more dealing with dead batteries.
It would be nice if the IR side had more buttons. The vol up and vol down buttons require key combinations of the function key + F2/F3 -a little bit of a pain for something so frequently used. On the side of the device is a Page Up / Page Down button right where the pad of your thumb goes. It would be great if that were the vol button. However, the scroller on the trackpad makes a halfway decent volume adjuster for VLC. Also, the button to turn on the backlight is also a combination of function + F1; a backlight button really should be set apart from all the rest so it is easy to identify in the dark. This device also has a laser pointer which I covered with a piece of black electrical tape -don't want the kids pointing it at each others' eyes.
I think I might try using a keyboard remapper utility to change a few of the keys to be more to my preferred layout.
All in all, this was an excellent purchase. Well worth the money.I couldn't be happier! The seller "iPazzPort" recommended this device to me in order to operate my PS3 and it works great. Also, it is the only one that works as a remote control for third party devices like TVs. It worked perfectly with my PC running Win7/64bits.
The only negative thing is that the user manual is very difficult to understand due to the poor English and grammar. The manual is also in Chinese, so I assume that the asian that wrote the Chinese part also wrote the English part.
Even with that, the product exceeded my expectations!This item works great and was exactly what i was looking for. I was never able to get the keyboard to sync with my TV/DVD player because the manual was essentially useless. For the functions of keypad/touchpad, it worked great.

I got this unit as a present for Christmas 2001. Nice unit, fast, when compared to my previous handheld. They have been discontinued by Compaq, so there are not a whole lot of places selling them. But if you can pick one up for under [price], it's worth the price.Yes, it does not have the color screen of it's more expensive brothers. But it also doesn't have the shorter battery life. It also uses all the same accessories of it's big brothers.
I got mine to replace my Palm IIIe. I added a Compact Flash adapter and the upgrade to PocketPc 2002. I use it to read my Email, keep my schedule, and listen to music as an MP3 player on planes when I travel.
I was already using MS Outlook XP as my PIM manager on my laptop and desktop, so it took all my settings and schedules and imported them without a hitch. And not needing any outside sync program was a cost savings too.
Overall, not a bad bargain for all those features.
Pros: Durable metal construction wich gives the unit a great look.
Prebuilt in LiIon batteries wich save you the worry of constantly purchasing batteries or exchanging externally rechargeable ones.
It is very fast.
The interface, and included programs are more than basic, it bring programs for MANY basic jobs, more than similar PDAs. And some software like the new version of Windows Media Player have a beautyfull easy to use interface.
Cons:
The stylus casing is slightly precarious, if you push your stylus in with too much pressure it'll become jammed in it's socket causing some trouble to get it out again.
The screen has a very very good resolution but the contrast even at it's highest level is not much so peopel with poorer vision would have troubles reading the screen.
The character recognition system is very fast BUT it would be very troublesome for a pilot user to learn since the signs are diferent and to my oppinion less intuitive, also for it's speed in recognizing characters I feel it quite less acurate than the pilot based versions and the input glyphs for leters like G are really cumbersome.
Basically this is a sweet unit, very expansible, very configurable and that even from the box brings enought functionality to keep you busy and organized for a good long time.
Ps. If you want a device that will still work for a few years for a cheap price, with very good response this is it... if you have more money to spend, and time to use it and wait I'd suggest one of the newer H68xx line models, wich being newer and having a diferent expansion connector will see expansions for a longer time in the future.

I owned an ipaq 3150 for about two months before I decided that it was just too big to be practical. I needed a device that would fit comfortably in my pocket... I guess I figured that I could get by with 16 mb and not need to use the expansion sleeve. But the memory dissappeared rapidly and I discovered how bulky the thing is with the sleeve on. Bulky and heavy. I really enjoyed my use of this PDA, however; the large screen is nice for Ebooks and photos, if you can stand the monochrome display. If you can get by without the sleeve, the PC itself is quite sleek and attractive. I bought it in the first place because it seems less expensive than it's color relatives, but recently prices have plummetted and a thinner machine with a color display is no longer unaffordable.Want Compaq iPAQ 3150 Monochrome Pocket PC Discount?
This is a great product. However, I dropped mine in October, 2001. Compaq has sent it back TWICE without doing anything to it, AND the repair was prepaid. Bottom line is Compaq and Customer Service are mutually exclusive terms. I don't care how highly a Compaq product is rated. I will never buy anything that says Compaq again.

I got this case for my iPad 2 to go with a screen protector (front and back, of course) and a green smart cover. The sleeve fits my iPad 2 perfectly with and without the smart cover attached. The side pocket is nice but small. You could fit the USB cable, but the power brick would be pushing it.
The case also looks nice. The green trim matches my green smart cover perfectly. It's easy to get the iPad in and out of the case. The front pocket is also a nice feature as it lets you stow the charge cord and other accessories (e.g. pen stylus). CONS (?):
-The dimensions are a tad bit too big, which cause very little shifting side-to-side (but the front screen and back of the kindle are padded just fine). However, all edges of the case are well padded, so I haven't noticed any problems. Again, the shift is minimal. I also plan on getting a silicone skin as well which should add to size to the kindle to reduce to or even stop it completely.
-size? The case is a bit thick, so if you are looking for a more streamline case, pass on this. However, I definitely wanted to protect my investment, and I don't mind the size at all given the bubble padding is worth it. It's cute in a plump sort of way.
OTHER:
-color in picture is off. I ordered the pink one, and in real life the color is a more true pink rather than the darker, drabbier pink. Much cuter than the picture.

Mine works great. I have transferred thousands of photos to my PC without a hitch. It is so small it sits on top of my monitor and is known to my system as device G. All the folks that have reported problems with installation undoubtedly had those problems. I didn't. And I have a Zip drive, a CD/RW drive and 4 devices total hooked up to my USB ports, including a printer and DSL modem. Before this mess would work on my 2 year old Dell, I had to download new BIOS for the machine. Anytime you add stuff to a PC, there may be conflicts that need resolving. But I don't believe this SmartMedia card reader is the total cause of anybody's problems.
The directory acts just like another removable-disk drive (assigned F: on my computer) and is labeled USB when viewed after clicking on My Computer icon.
It sure beats uploading from the camera.

I have 2 of these SanDisk USB readers (they will read only 1 type of memory card, so if you have devices with CompactFlash, MultiMediaCard memory, SmartMedia, etc., you'll need 1 reader per format). They can be difficult to set-up, as the software (in both cases) required an update from their website (nice site, user-friendly) and, more importantly, there are known conflicts with other device drivers you may have on your computer (such as CD-RW drives and Zip drives). While these conflicts are mentioned on the SanDisk website, the solutions they offered were not always helpful. Once solved, this device is great. I finally ordered the SmartMedia ImageMate, even after reading some pretty horrific reviews (and some very good ones). The SanDisk web page says to check the CDW EasyCreate, and mine was OK (3.5c, "c" makes it OK). Received the reader, installed the software, plugged it in to an empty USB port, stuck in a half-full SmartCard from my Olympus 360L camera, clicked on the "G" drive, and there it was all of it! Downloaded 40 images in 15-20 seconds (not 20-30 minutes!), played around with uploads, deletes, any old files (not only images) WORKS LIKE MAGIC! (**FAST** magic...) I have Windows 98, Pentium III at 733 MHz, a Costco USB splitter, 3 or 4 other USB devices, shut down & restart each day,and the system still crashes once a day or so. Pretty standard setup, I think. I own a Canon Digital Elph camera that uses CF cards. I purchased this reader so that I wouldn't have to hook up my camera to the computer (and run down the batteries) each time I wanted to download photos.The drivers installed easily, and I haven't had a single problem with it. I suspect that the other guy just has some weird software incompatibility issue that could happen with any device or software.

I have a Palm Tungsten T2, and bought the Navman GPS 4460 to provide GPS capability for the occasional road trip and/or business trip. I had also considered the Delorme Earthmate, but decided against it based on some feedback on the web regarding the accuracy of the maps and lack of voice guidance. The one review I did find on the relatively new GPS 4460 convinced me that this was worth investigating.The GPS 4460 comes with the GPS receiver unit, a couple of mounting brackets for the receiver and the Palm PDA, a memory card reader, a 12V car adapter for the receiver unit, 3 AAA size batteries, and 4 CDs of software/maps. The receiver unit fits nicely into its associated mount, which can then be easily attached to the inside of your rear window. This assembly is held in place to the window by a suction cup. The PDA can then ride up front with the driver in it's own cradle (usually plugged into a cigarette lighter socket).
The software for the PDA is excellent, as are the maps (as far as I've tested them, that is). Entering destinations is easy once the maps are loaded onto the SD/MMC card (which you must have and is not included in the kit). The voice guidance is clear, if a bit confused at times (i.e. it can ask you to bear left and make a right turn, even though the visual map indicates that you should keep going straight). The best work round for this, as always, is the judicious use of common sense. The visual cues (when you can safely look at the display while driving) are also excellent. As a PDA is used as the output/display, screen contrast, brightness and audio volume are are limited by the PDA you have on hand. So far the T2 has performed acceptably except in bright sun light (when the display becomes nearly unreadable).
Now for my MAJOR peeves with the system the installation software and instructions are UNFORGIVABLY bad. First, you need to purchase a SD/MMC card for map storage etc this is not provided in the kit. Second, installing the desktop software crashed my computer (because it tried to it's own drivers for an existing card reader I had in place something I had to go back and fix). Third, when I tried to activate the software (and followed instructions on the screen and quick start guide), it was in no way clear that THE SD/MMC CARD SHOULD BE IN THE CARD READER AND NOT IN THE PALM. What activation does (I'm surmising from experience) is to install the license key onto the SD/MMC card. Once that is done, the software on the PDA will work (because it sees the key when the SD/MMC card is in the PDA) and the Map transfer software will work (because it also sees the key when the SD/MMC card is in the card reader). Fourth, I got memory errors on the PDA when I first tried to run the software (which were fixed with a soft reset, but none of this was clearly mentioned as a remote possibility).
So in closing the unit is working great now that I have it running. Getting it up and running was a problem as noted above. Some better/clearer documentation on the installation front would have been nice. Had it not been for the lousy install, I'd have rated this as a 5 star product.
1). Doesn't allow listing POI's by distance from your current location instead it lists all POI's in the database in alphabetical order. When in an unfamiliar area, I'd like to be able to select restaurants or gas stations and have the software list all available sorted by distance from my current location, rather than requiring me to know the exact names and locations. I mean, for a gas station, what's more important, the name or how close it is? (Especially when you're running on fumes in an unfamiliar area).
2). Lack of integration with native Palm software applications, most notably the address book/contact database application. It really should be able to link to the address book to plot contact addresses that is such an obvious omission. It doesn't even allow you to copy and paste addresses into the navigation software.
3). Tapping on a location or POI on the map causes a pop up menu to appear that allows you to see the name of the POI or street and to select it as a "departure" or "navigate to" point or to add it to your favorites, but a more helpful and useful feature would be to have the name, address and phone number pop up and to offer the option of adding that information, not only to the favorites list but also to the Palm's address book for future reference and use.
4). Lack of road-type options. It allows you to avoid toll roads and urban areas and allows you to select either quickest or shortest routes, but having the option to select most or least use of freeways or side streets would really be helpful...as well as having the ability to reroute around traffic congestion.
5). The POI feature does not allow text entry searching, instead you start with "country" then "category" then "type" and finally "area". Having the ability to type in a name or partial name would be very helpful when trying to locate specific points of interest...like a restaurant. For example; a search for a restaurant in Dallas, TX requires you to go to the Points of Interest screen, select a country, select a category (Food and Drink), select a type (restaurant) and then provide an area to search. If you type in "Dallas" for the area you are provided with a list of restaurants in alphabetical order through which you may scroll down four screens which doesn't even get through the "A"s...so, unless you only like eating at restaurants that have names beginning with either numbers or letters from "A" through "AL" then you won't be finding what you want on this software. Attempting to narrow down the search by entering a zip code for downtown Dallas just makes the software default to listing every restaurant in the state again only four screens of scrollable selections hope you like eating at restaurants with numbers for names. As a result of this problem, the POI feature is basically useless.
6). The company does most of its business in Europe and that fact is evident by the software's menu layout, some menu items and the use of European spelling (i.e. petrol stations, exhibition centre). This product was clearly ported over from European versions of the software and was rushed to the US marketplace without adequate "real world" testing and as a result, the final product much more resembles a playful toy than a serious tool. In fact, you could say that a more appropriate name for the Navman SmartST software would be the Navman DumbST software ;) The software translates fairly well for the most part, but I'm hopeful that future versions are more tailored to the way Americans think and the way this country is mapped out.
Though no application is ever a panacea, there are just a few too many compromises required with this particular system to justify keeping it. I plan to return my Navman in hopes of finding a Palm GPS system that's more feature rich and better integrated with the Palm computing platform's applications.Dylan Spears review is an excellent one. This is product is certainly not for serious use. Software needs lot of work. GPS box is pretty good. Always gets a fix and bluetooth connection is reliable. Navman is going to come up with a new software release in late summer.
Other shortcomings of this products are
1) Lack of charger adapter for Palm. They could have easily used a Y style cable and plug to charge palm.
2) Software always chooses the same route irrespective of the routing option (Fastest / Shortest) chosen. e.g. San jose to LA always picks 580 to I-5. Shorter route is 152E to I-5.
3) Suction mount for GPS is inconvenient. Power plug and the indicator is on the glass side. You have to hunt for power switch to turn it on and then in day time it's hard to figure out whether it is ON or not.
4) GPS hw always turns off even if external power is present. You always have to turn it on. Kind of annoying.
5) SW crashes often. It will start repeating a turn again and again and again then die.
6) Suction mount for PDA has wrong orientation if you want to mount it on the windsheild left to your steering (best position). Glue on Plastic base is not heat resistant. Falls off in an hour if you leave your car in sun.
7) Database errors. Out of 10 destinations 3 were wrong. They were not in a new area.
8) Limited display option. You can not see time and distance to destination at the same time.
9) Does not understand zip code. Takes lot of time to enter an address.I was looking for a Palm pda based vehicle navigational system and researched the market for gps products. I short listed three products delorme bluelogger, tomtom BT navigator and navman 4460. The delorme was cheaper but lost on maturity of product, quality issues listed on their forum and did not include pda and gps mounting accessories.
The tomtom was comparable to navman but did not have replaceable battery! I decided on Navman 4460.
The install is not straight forward but quite confusing. The software initially failed to download maps and gave a confusing error message that application is corrupted. I had inkling that it needed software keys installed and that did the trick.
Once the software was installed, it worked fine. But I could only use only a part of Tungsten T3 screen. It needed another software download to get full screen usage. Why it was not part of initial install? It beats me as the required files are included on CD.
The software is easy to use. The GPS fix is immediately obtained. It is very easy to set destination and navigate. The PDA mounter and gps windshield mounter are suction type but really solid. The pda mounter is not a true ball and socket joint type but it is not really a problem. The bluetooth works fine. The auto-rerouting works great. The db is pretty good.
I am very happy with software but after some usage found the following features lacking:
1. Ability to avoid certain areas or road stretch is not available. One of the big reasons I got it is to avoid traffic jams.
2. The Router Demonstrator could not be speeded up! The path could not be manually navigated on screen! It is pretty useless without these two features.
3. The Map panning does not work very well. Many times it does not move the map. The map of a large area could not be easily viewed.
4. There is no desktop routing or map software. It would have been so much convenient to view/plan routes and maps on big desktop screen.
Despite the lack of above features, it is a great product and has worked flawlessly. I am taking one star off for install and lack of some features.I ordered this knowing that it wasn't listed as compatible with my Tungsten T5. I tried many times to get the software to work but it didn't. I ended up installing Mapopolis software and have been using it for over 6 months.
The Navman works perfectly with Mapopolis on my T5. The receiver is very small and sits on my car dashboard. It is small enough that you could put it in a coat pocket or purse if walking around. Battery life is great I haven't timed it but I'm sure it is around the 15hrs of active use that other people have found. If you are just an occasional user like I am, this translates into months of use before the battery dies.
My only complaint is that they never bothered to update their software to make it compatible with the T5.
